This statue affected me more than his Pieta - only because the Pieta is distant and it’s lost in the cavernous room - It gave me goosebumps. Yes, I was waiting for it to turn and speak. 1) Pieta 2) Sistine Chapel 3) Moses 4) David
The reason for this, is that in the Bible, Moses is described as having horns of light coming from his heads... so many artists interpreted this literally.
Because he represents the Ram Aries ♈️ from the Zodiac (ram’s horns) The Age of Aries was roughly 2000 BC to 0 AD. Followed by the Age of Pisces represented by the next prophet, Jesus
Actually the original Hebrew word which described the incredible visage of Moses after having been in the presence of God was the same word that was used to describe the blast of a trumpet. In other words, the Hebrew intent was to say that Moses’s face shown like the “blast” of a trumpet and could scarcely be looked upon. Upon translation into Latin, the Hebrew description of Moses’ face was translated literally…into “horned” instead of ‘like the blast of a horn’. Due to this incorrect translation, the Latin Bible indicated that Moses attained horns on the Mount, and that misconception lasted well into Renaissance as evidenced by the statue of Moses.
