The new Mosko Moto Boundary IR Jacket and Pant. Designed to compete with the Klim Badlands, Carlsbad, REV'IT!, Rukka, Alpinestars and other high end adventure riding suits. Waterproof, integrated armor, CE AA rated, well ventilated. Is this the best waterproof riding suit available? #moskomoto #motorcycle #adv
⚡Boundary or Basilisk? The Basilisk is cheaper, does not have armor or pockets or armor included, and does not have CE AA certification.

⚡The key reason why the Boundary gear is superior to the competition (in my opinion) is the lack of the mesh interior hanging liner that makes other jackets feel hot, bulky and uncomfortable. ⚡Boundary or Basilisk? The lining in jackets and pants may seem silly but it actually adds to the protection of the garment by creating a slip layer between the outer shell and your skin (not so different from MIPS in helmets). Especially in high falls from slower speeds, the impact is harder than low siding at high speeds and skin tearing can happen without a rupture in the Jacket/pants. Allowing the skin to slide independently a bit after initial impact can help.

Serious question: Is this not basically the same as the MSR Xplorer gear? On paper it has just about the same features: Superfabric, eVent liner, 500d stretch cordura in the non-wear areas, same zippers, etc... The only advantage I see here is CE Level II armor. Am I wrong? Why is this worth 3x the price? Asking you because they don't make this in my size so I can't try it myself, lol.

It is more comfortable and is CE AA certified. But besides that, it's functionally similar. You can't beat that MSR gear for the money, hands down.

Love MM products but I’m not convinced with this line. Very expensive for eVent fabric and super fabric, the SAME used in the $400 MSR Xplorer… plus it competes with top of the line adventure jackets from manufacturers with decades of experience and multiple revisions. This jacket lacks adjustment, breathing, thermal liner, and look meh at best.

Thank you Ian for this review. I have concerns about the venting. I purchased the Basilisk last year (after much thought and counting dollars), seemingly good quality. I found the jacket extremely stiff initially (still stiff months later), good waterproofing, and although a bit long pretty decent comfort. So this was fall/winter riding. Now in summer weather, the front vents are not great to be honest, they simply will not flow air. Did I purchase a jacket that was slightly too large? maybe…not sure. All I know is I am no longer wearing it. I find KLIM gear to be exceptional in terms of fit, in terms of comfort and flows air much better. I understand what you are saying about that inside mesh however I would rate KLIM gear way above my Mosko Moto jacket. Just my thoughts and experience.

I like their products and the idea of wearing separates for hot weather riding.However, i don't see nothing different from. Ventilation looks poor. I'm currently recovering from a fracture elbow due to my front tire washing off on fresh gravel while going 45 mph. I have the Held Carese Evo jacket with pants and it did its job in protecting. I could have been worse. I think the elbow armour shifted or it could have been just blunt force from the fall at that speed. From now on, i will be wearing separates or atlease for elbow and knees. No interest what so ever on this jacket and pants as i ride warm weather.

TSK,,, I DON'T LIKE LINERS IN JACKETS,,, IT MAKE JACKETS LOOKS UGLY AND HOT,,,
@RandomGRK
@RandomGRK 3 месяца назад
Rubbish. The inner liner acts as barrier to prevent the plastic feel of the jacket against you and your skin. It helps with not feeling clammy. This is a paid review basically. When you get stuff for free and have such a good relationship with a company, you're never going to be critical so hear it from me! I tried the pants, not the jacket and here are my quick thoughts. - The fit is weird, bunches too much and the armor is so pliable that it just bunches up and effectively becomes useless. You need a firmer armor that cups the knee and that can tuck into the boot. Look at Adventure Spec Linesman pants, they designed this correctly with the tuckable armor. - The pants are extremely stiff, which owes to the bunching mentioned above. Look at Ian's knees. He doesnt mention this or critique it. No chance that armor is in the right place. - The hip armor is laughable. - The pants have no liner so any exposed skin will immediately feel clammy/sticky. - Pants are almost too low cut and not comfortable on the bike. The crotch area should have more gusset? I dont know. Bad design. - Heavy and uncomfortable. I ride with the Adventure Spec Linesman pants. Feel like hiking pants, have excellent airflow and are so comfortable. When it rains, I add a Klim forecast pants or my REI Rainier pants. Done. - The jacket...well, no chest armor pockets. Really? For $1300 and not even chest armor pockets? All the competition has these. - Vents seem covered with flaps to prevent water ingress so the I assume the wind pressure will basically just close these vents. Anyone paying $1300 for the jacket and $850 for the pants either has a lot of money and it doesnt matter to them which is perfectly fine or has seriously fallen for the hype and marketing of Mosko. I shake my head...

What you have said when comparing it with Klim Badlands, is simply not true, and you repeated it several times. Did some one really belief you ? I dont think so. The inner mesh liner of Klim, DOES NOT AFFECT THE BREATHABILITY, have you seen it ? but a close still picture of it. Why you did not mention Klim triple A ... ( AAA ). Strange. I have both, Mosko and Klim, many products, and have paid for it full retail price, no relationhip to the brand. Klim is superior in most aspects. Brand to dealer, and dealer to consumer. Real world business, personal advice, you can see and touch before you buy, no mistakes. Mosko is very good, no doubt, simply and efective, but to expensive for what you get for your money. An online business, brand to consumer. Everything is virtual, and should be cheaper. Both, similar MSRP. But, with Klim, my local dealer keep in business !
