I have both the original BB Preamp and now this B-Box and although the tone is virtually identical (In a blind test, I doubt many people could tell the difference), the B-Box is a bit noisier. I'm not talking about scratchy pots or the switch. I mean, noise from the pedal itself. But when you consider you are getting an almost perfect clone for 1/10 of the price, who can complain! ;-) Still, I just thought future buyers should now before.

What do you mean by "a bit noisier"? I just bought B-Box and with gain turn to 0 it produces some quiet ugly hi-end distortion in background. I wonder if my pedal i broken or it`s normal.

preamp-type pedals in general tend to be a bit noisier than basic overdrives, the keyword being AMP..., I GUESS preamp-type pedals arent primarily supposed to be used in front of an amp(which has a preamp itself), but into the loop( bypassing the amps preamp) or straight to a recording thingy (maybe even a cab simulator, getting complicated...), its a preamp with overdrive, ist abit noisy, Im waiting for my EHX Hum Debuggers to come back repaired cause they stopped doing their thing...!

@@kimmolingonheimo the bb preamp is just a tube screamer with a baxandall tone section , its not a real preamp at all, it is just an overdrive pedal

@@piotrczernikiewicz I think it's normal. This pedal like many can reflect the dirty power noise and amplify dirty power sounds coming from your power source. My personal experience with the mosky pedals is theyre noisy when plugged directly into the wall and they work exactly as they're supposed to when they are plugged into my Furman power conditioner.

I want to hear this pedal after a high gain distortion pedal. Is that a good idea? Is this b box good for mid range? I want my gain pedals to cut through the mix.

linggom This pedal will definitely cut through the mix. The most important thing to remember when it comes to cutting through the mix is mid range. I know a lot of people like to turn down the mids. But the mids is where the guitar gets its sound

Calines middlemushy and more expensive, Moskys have usually great basses, not middlemushy..., I do say Caline Highwayman is a great strat pedal...

I love it: u can use it as a booster, tone maker or crunch and higher gain. It is also able to put more bass and treble than this crappy amp does basically.

I actually replaced my Orange Burst with this pedal. They're pretty much identical. The tone knobs on both need to be at about 3 o'clock for a pure transparent tone and they both sound best when used as a low gain drive to add just a little grit to your signal.

@@jeant9946 The Mosky is a mini version of the same pedal. I replaced my Orange Burst with it to cram on even more pedals on my overstuffed pedal board.

I prefer the orange burst. But I like the mosky too. The caline pedals just seem to have more sizzle. A richer tone.

What amp, speakers and microphones were used in this demonstration? The sound is remarkable consistent throughout the frequency spectrum. It also bears plenty of sonic detail and attack. Thanks for the demonstration !
