Simon Schreier, Wild Center Interpretive Programs Manager, discusses the good and bad of mosquitoes and how you can be involved with International Science Center & Science Museum Day.
I urge the readers of this comment to show mosquitoes some clemency and respect. They should not be considered evil simply for existing and trying to survive. They thrive in an equivalent manner to us, and require blood for personal sustenance and to feed their larvae children. You can't wish death upon mosquitoes for causing supposed "harm" in the form of minor itches that go away quickly, not to mention that their diseases, which are actually spread by microbes, serve as population control, and they're the only animals who can manage humans in that manner. We should not wish death upon them without understanding how they behave and feel, just because they're different than us. In fact, all bugs are in distress because of us because we kill them without reason. We need to worry about our own control and flaws, and the way we treat other animals and the environment because compared to us mosquitoes are next to nothing. Please find your morality and have respect for other life forms.
