I know you don’t EVER horse around with delicate micro-componentry unless you absolutely know what you’re doing! One piece out of place and the entire computer is ☠️
I don't usually watch videos this long. But this one. Omg. Worth every second. It was so enjoyable and nostalgic to watch this PS2 come to life again. Amazing!
Absolutely, I was hooked from the start! This is the most precise, meticulous, TLC filled console restoration I’ve ever seen! Great editing and cuts, makes for a really engaging watch. Superb! And let’s hear it for the PS2 🎉
@@RestoFixYou should be unbelievably proud of your work! Never seen anything like it. You’re putting others to shame haha. Thanks for uploading such a great video! 👍🏻
@@theminimancjb36yeah, same with PCs nowadays, parts are mostly black with grey/white adds, a few years back you could build a cool blue rig or a devilish red setup. My new PC looks cool but my previous rig looked way more lively with blue/white/black despite not having any rgb in it. Because toned colors are more "adult" and thats what curreng gamers are.
let me say, as being a friend who has helped friends fix their broken ps2 and ps3. just taking this apart is a MAJOR chore, let alone cleaning and soldering new parts. 10/10 effort. this would have taken me a week at home to be less than half as crisply done.
Can't tell you how thoroughly satisfying this was, Sir. You're technique and methods should be considered the Gold Standard in restorations! You treated that device as if it was the last surviving specimen left on Earth and on its way to go on display behind museum glass. Well done and most importantly..... Thank you.
This restoration is an absolute masterpiece! The attention to detail is beyond incredible - every single piece is restored with such precision and creativity! You can see the insane amount of dedication and care that went into bringing this back to life. The craftsmanship is pure art, and the level of perfection is out of this world! And honestly, ALL of your restorations are on this level-this is just what you do! Every time you restore something, it’s like witnessing magic! You’re consistently on a whole other level! Thank you!
This didn’t even feel like an hour. It was just pure bliss. Way beyond just satisfying. And playing the games afterwards was so satisfying. Thank you for the nostalgia!
OK... I was impressed already but then at 25:00 where you fixed the broken piece with super glue and sanded it to look as though nothing happened... that was just brilliant!
This is by far the best restoration channel I've found! You've both simultaneously amazed me and ruined any other restoration videos for me because no one can compete with your attention to detail. Looking forward to the next one!
When it booted up at the end, the sound threw me back to my teenage years... PS2 was the first console I bought on my own, I hold PS3 the best console ever made but PS2 holds a very special place in my heart.
@@Boeing-777-X Depends. I don t see a less powerful console as a weak console. You can t say Wii is a mediocre console, it was a stellar one. Mediocre console is a ps5 if i ever saw one.
I have watched a lot of restoration videos. But this is the first i have seen one and have learned new ways to clean consoles and repair them. More of this please.
@@bryanvandyketake everything with a grain of salt. Look up how these channels fake restorations. They basically bury it in dirt, which is easy to clean. I'm not trying to burst your bubble but don't believe everything you see and seriously look up fake restorations.
Your restorations remind me of my favorite restoration channel my mechanics. You both have this quality over quantity thing going on. Can't wait for the next video.
Really agree bro. They both have the same attention to details to make sure the result is incredibly good. I hope this channel can grow faster as My Mechanics.
Im only 12 minutes it and you've already put in so much work. Just keeping track of everything and knowing how to disassemble and reassemble this blows my mind.
I now understand why restoration and repair services are priced the way they are. Additionally, the level of craftmanship and engineering needed to design consoles with all the parts connected via screws is mind boggling to say the least. Absolute joy to watch this video and you've earned my subscription.
The amount of detail and work you put into this is absolutely astounding. You took it from looking like it was on its last legs to looking like it is new! I thought it was going to be another one of those scam videos where people take consoles and fake them being dirty and "clean" it, but you CLEANED it! Nicely done! I can't wait to see more!
The dedication it takes to make this video is staggering. I know I love watching cleaning videos and things of the like but wow, the time it took to clean just the optical disk drive is far more than I would have had the diligence for. You are the GOAT.
All that effort put in to clean up and re-plate the metal bracket that most people aren't even going to see! It's amazing! I bet this console wasn't this clean when it came out of the factory in 2002! Nice videos, you've earned a sub from me!
Hey amigo! I don't watch resto vids but I'm a big retro gamer, I was a car detailer and I keep my electronics super clean 🧼 I absolutely love how careful you are w/ every single piece. I saw myself in your video 😅😊Nice kicks in futbol btw ⚽😀
my Ps2 fat doesn't work :( , turns on but it doesn't know what model number it is and the drive goes hypersonic on eject. It turned on correctly for the first time in 15 years 2 weeks ago.... only once, drive still didn't read though.
i wish you did less aggressive cuts with video effects because it makes one a bit queasy to watch, but i understand thats a part of your aesthetic. i really dig these kinds of videos and it shows that you put a lot of attention and time into the detail of the work that you do. :)
This is soooo satisfying. I love watching restoration videos, but there's just another level of satisfaction when there's a thorough attention to quality, also seen in how your tools look and are organized. Just *chefs kiss*.
My friend, you are legendary. This video is so amazing. I have never seen anything like it in my life. I enjoyed every minute of it. You deserve the RU-vid Diamond Shield. I hope your next project is ps3 phat first version
High quality content. I was stunned to see the niquel plating and how many details and effort you put into this. You gain a sub and I'm sure this channel is going to explode. Please do every single console you can think of, specially would love to see a good old Dreamcast :D
I have the privilege of owning this very version. I paid 30 or 35 dlls for it including the vertical stand, it was sold to me as junk. It just needed some service in the DVD drive, and the console was filled with some redish/brownish gunk that smelled funny. I think the original owner was a "smoker" (opium) Also got a white Sega Saturn with it for 15 dlls, also labeled as junk. Just needed a new laser. Great video, it was very satisfying. It will come in handy when I have to service it in the future.
Soul Edge, that's my jam! I work for an event/party service, and we transport a lot of consoles ...in plastic tubs. Let's see here; 6 Switches, 2 Xbones, a Series S, and 2 PS5s. We just lay/stack them however they fit and lay the controllers and cords in. And we just lay monitors and TVs in the van however they'll fit. Now it's not my place to challenge my boss, I've tried to passively mention carrying racks for the van and zip cases for the tech, but he's pretty cheep and doesn't want to upgrade beyond whatever "works." Half our switch controllers are drifters, an Xbone has a jammed disc drive and only plays the downloaded games. Monitors have scratches on them. HDMI ports are loose. The systems don't look as nasty as that PS2, but they're not getting any cleaner. I went on a cleaning binge and cleaned them all when we had a location-space, but that was years ago. All the tech just goes back to his house after events and sits in his garage. It's utterly embarrassing in my retentive mind, but we do kid and family stuff, so it's not like anyone cares, but when we have broken tech, all I can do is just shake my head in silence and take the generous payouts. Sorry for the rant, just love my entertainment hardware and I don't neglect/abuse it. Thank you for this vid, it was soothing lol.
This channel does restoration for old consoles better than anyone else 100%. The attention to detail and just sheer detail of cleaning aswell, it's ridiculous. Hope to see more in the future like this.
@@TheAbandonedAccount7 I have seen Odd Tinkering, but that channel doesn't do it like this. Mainly just cleans important areas, then retro brights, basic restoration. This channel literally polishes copper ground points, completely restores metal shielding with nickel plating, regreases fan motors and disc drive assemblies, I can literally go on and on. Arguably it doesn't need to be at that level, but the fact it is at that level seperates it from the rest of the channels.
I usually can't stand electronic restoration videos (it is obvious that they put a good/working PCB in a broken/purposefully dirtied case), but this was amazing and it was just a through deep cleaning of a system. No fakery from what I can tell, and was a highly enjoyable video.
What are you smoking this case was 100% purposely dirtied. Who sells something like this without even doing a basic wipe. How is this even transported without a lot of that dust being dislodged. It's 110% doctored up.
@@thestamper You my friend have never worked in a repair shop. I got laptops, desktops, all sorts of shit, that would make your eyes roll over at how dirty they could be, when I worked there.
Wtf happened to the PS2 it looks defeated depleted and deleted 0:34 jokes aside bro you need to be hired by someone
HOLY SHIT. I LOVED the whole process, your attention to details, the skill, the tools, literally EVERYTHING. I was hooked all the 57 and 46 seconds and I watched a ton of tech retro restorations but this one was literally the golden one! I'm just curious how many hours the whole process took. Liked and subscribed!
Awesome restoration! It is what I was looking for. With your talent and attention to details you will reach 1M subscribers in very short time! I wish you all the best!
You are the best of all the clean/restore videos I've seen! I have never seen someone strip a device all the way down as you have. Keep up the great work! 👍😏
I've been doing restoration on and off for over 20 years, I've done everything from electronics to hardwood furniture and this is so impressive to watch, absolutely master levels of skill. Great work.
alone the knowledge to know every part of these beautiful consoles takes me in awe :) i love your restorations and im gonna check out your other 2 videos aswell! subscribing is the least i can do man. much love!
I love carefully taking things apart and cleaning things, but I don't think my technical skills are as close as yours. You do amazing work with delicately taking apart components, cleaning them, repairing, and reassembling. I wish I could find a job like that, with unique challenges and attention to detail. Amazing work filming and editing as well. So happy to watch your videos. I wish you and your loved ones well!
One of the few videos that has given me so much satisfaction from watching it. Only those of us who like electronics and restoration would find a video of almost an hour with a relatively old and useless product fast. You are a master in the art of restoration. What do you need to study or know to achieve that professionalism that you have? Great job! Greetings
I came in out of curiosity and seeing that it was a very long video, I said... "I watch it for 10 minutes, I fast-forward it to see how it looks and that's it" and the video was really so hypnotic that without realizing it I watched it completely. Your work is admirable. I would just like to know how much time it took you to complete the entire process. Greetings from Argentina.
You took something that most definitely wasn't functioning at all due to several catastrophic failures and turned it around into something that has a lot of life breathed back into it. And made it quite nice too. Good work! If not already, you have gained me as a subscriber.
This is next level, I'm blown away. How many years of experience do you have with this type of stuff? Looking forward to more content. Thank you for sharing with us!
