As a girl I dont get the hype over astrology signs ive met girls who dont get along with each other mainly because a Buzzfeed quiz told them they are not ''compatible''

As an Asian girl,Zodiac believer are absolutely crazy in Asia. We have an entire game show involving zodiac signs. (Basically they invite a bunch of pop stars separated in teams by their zodiac sign). My country has a daily zodiac prediction show,where some middle aged man talks about how Jupiter and Mars colliding is somehow going to effect your date life…. I can talk about this all day,man.

Whenever I came to her for a problem she would always say it was because of my sign conflicting with the stars or something. She'd also use it as an excuse for her terrible actions. I used to believe it too since I was with her for so long, but once I got away from her influence I realized astrology was pretty much bullshit.

I’m a guy and I used to get somewhat into astrology because my sister introduced it to me and it was intriguing to me at the time. We both don’t care about it anymore though. However, when I tried getting into the Astrology stuff years back, I did find myself trying to live my life based on what the Astrology sites said about my sign, which was Virgo. I now just live my life building my own character rather than letting these sites do it for me. And speaking of the sites, I have noticed that traits they give for one sign is the same for another. They say Virgos are the most trustworthy signs, but then say the same for a Libra. What’s also crazy is that most of these sites say that if you are, for example, a Taurus (an earth sign), you will be more compatible with another earth sign or water signs romantically, and less compatible with an air or fire sign. But hear this, I’ve known many people who had the worst time with someone with their supposed “most compatible signs” and having a good ol’ time with their “least compatible”. I mean I am an earth sign, but a lot of my friends are air and fire signs. People use this “compatibility” to judge whether someone will be a good friend or partner to them based on their sign. And that itself is a toxic mindset. Astrology is not healthy, and it seems to be affecting people a lot poorly as time goes on. Thank God I’ve stayed away from all that.

I was in my last period class (entirely discussion based), and eventually the conversation got to zodiac signs. It was rather disheartening, because the grown woman who was a teacher (with a social sciences degree) was hyping up a group of teenage girls who said they've rejected perfectly capable romantic partners entirely on their zodiac sign..their BIRTHDAY. It was extremely disheartening, and has lead to me not even wanting to give people my birthday.

I spent this year's summer with two of such girls, turned out to be two extremely toxic which just kept me around to make fun of me and have a boy that they can tease when they're bored. Short story: in middle school, (8th grade) I once found out that a girl liked me. She first told her friend to tell me that she liked me. She couldn't tell me in person because she was shy which I understand. So after finding her and talking with her, she wanted to find my interests and shit and I was like well alr. So she starts saying her favorite activities, foods, etc. She brings up astrology and says what ever zodiac sign she was. I told her I don't really like zodiac signs so she wanted me to call her to do a buzz feed about zodiac signs with her. At the end, she got the zodiac sign she said she had and I got one like virgo. After that I started hanging out with her and even took her to the mall to get her 5 pair of shoes for her. (Costed alot) after a month and a half passes she comes up to me and says "hey I don't think we match." I was like wdym we don't match? Then she says, "I went on a website about zodiac signs and it said (what ever zodiac she had) and a virgo doesn't match and won't be great together. She then put her hand out to me and says friends as if she didn't just judge me off of a fucking website that said: oh your zodiac is this so you basically like this and that. So after the break up over a fucking shitty website she found I had gotten a new gf, she sees me and starts to get jealous and try to say: hey I was kinda wrong about our zodiac signs and we should go back to dating.
