GUREZ: AN UNMAPPED PARADISE NEAR LOC!
If Kashmir is the crown of India, then Gurez Valley is the most precious jewel in that crown. Forbidden for many years owing to its proximity to the Line of Control, the remote valley has now opened up for tourists. Gurez Valley is the ultimate example of a beautiful serene valley, with mountains spread across the river banks. The immaculate beauty of this valley leaves all its visitors in awe. Gurez is located at a distance of 125 km from Srinagar, and is right at the India Pakistan border. Surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the majestic Himalayas, Gurez is situated at an altitude of 8000 ft above sea level with the river KishanGanga flowing through it. One of the least explored regions of Kashmir, For many, this untouched region is perhaps the most beautiful and an mazing hidden gem in Kashmir. Inhabited by the forgotten Dard-Shin people who have a distinct cultural identity, the valleys of Gurez, Tulail, Bagtore and Izmarg are dotted with ancient villages set amidst breathtaking landscapes. Gurez is more than just a visual delight; it holds a rich cultural heritage that captivates visitors. The local inhabitants, known for their warm hospitality, have preserved their traditional way of life, allowing travelers to immerse themselves in the authentic essence of the region.
