Tibet was occupied by China in 1950 thanks largely to the naivety of the Tibetan govt who believed that if you don't harm neighbour you will not safe. Even after invasion, Tibetan govt did little to fight back instead and kept on saying PEACE and Non-Violence to the country who didn't believe it at all.

@杨健 To prove it Tibet remained neutral during World War 2 and refused to allow British and American arms to be shipped to China via Tibet. George Mallory expedition to Mount Everest expedition in 1924 sought permit from the Dalai Lama not from Beijing or Chinese. Nepal submitted a treaty with Tibet as proof that Nepal is an independent country for its admission into the United Nations. Tibet signed treaty with India in 1913-4 which delineate the border.
