I'm from Coimbatore..actually the route from Palakkad to Coimbatore is more beautiful than the other way around as it travels close to the mountains..there are 2 single lines between Walayar (last Kerala station) and Ettimadai (first Tamil Nadu station)..the left line is separate and much closer to the mountains
Sandeep bhai, the hill at 24:10 is the elephant hill, and you missed capturing Ettimadai station and Amrita University, as the train track passes thru the campus, and breakfast ki wajah se peacocks bhi miss ho gye!!! I were travelled in kanniyakumari-mumbai Express(now kanniyakumari-pune)in 2013. That time, there was a single line track. the forest was very deep, big big trees and that trees were very close to the track. And there elephant caution boards and speed restrictions. I think people or government did deforestation now.
