It's sad that such good stadiums are in a country where football isn't even that good and it's even more sad that many people died during these buildings
The world cup was held in the USA in 1994, when football wasn't a thing and they were shooting penalty kicks like they do in hookey 😂that statement makes no sense, South Africa's football isn't that good either, but they still held the best world cup of all-time
@@aleixgg930 Qatar citizens also feel football, the Middle East has a lot of fanatics, I lived there for 3 years and I can assure you that they love football more than countries like France or Poland, it's easy to judge them based on media, but the reality is totally different
@@JoaoLima-uv7ld I'm not a fan of their strategies which is abusing the workforce, but worse things happened in Beijing 2008 Olympics, Brazil world cup in 2014 and Mexico 1986 world cup but no one cares, not as much compared to this 2022 world cup anyway, like c'mon man, we should separate politics and football, they should be penalized for what they've done, sure, but it shouldn't stop us from appreciating what they've created, at the end of the day the workforce abuse in Asia is nothing new, boycotting the 2022 world cup is not the solution, it's way more complicated
@@GinD.gintoki6536 I don’t know of any other World Cup event where they used cheap labor to build countless stadiums in a relatively short amount of time.. most if not all venues in any other World Cup event have been there already because they already had the stadiums for club football to begin with…
It’s always easy to get excited about the stadium renders but hey they still look really good, probably would’ve been best to have a newer video with all the stadiums finished haha
The stadiums are nice, but the amount of cheap migrant labor that has been exploited in their construction is ridiculous. This World Cup is already marred by excess, blatant human rights violations, and death. Over 6,500 underpaid migrant workers from neighboring countries have died (those are all officially recorded deaths, which means there have probably been thousands more) in Qatar building these stadiums since the World Cup was announced there, from causes such as falling from extreme heights, electrocution, and suicide. Not to mention that it is being held in a desert in the winter, which means most major leagues are rearranging their entire schedule for it (which is completely unprecedented). I can’t imagine how much money Qatar’s government spent bribing FIFA to host the Cup there. I hate to be negative, but in my eyes this year’s World Cup will always be associated with the worst side of capitalism and greed.
People like you just read headlines and dont dive deeper into the facts, then spread misinformation and mislead people, that's exactly what's wrong with the world today. First of all that 6500 deaths figure was counted over a 10 year period, and it includes migrant workers in Qatar of ALL professions (not just workers involved in stadium building or anything World Cup related), and it also includes all causes of death so even death by natural causes or car accidents. It's all explained in the article, and it also says that the true number of migrant workers deaths involved in World Cup related jobs is 37, over a 10 year period again. Yes Qatar have definitely made some mistakes and need to improve the migrant workers' situation there, but it's nowhere near as bad as the media and people make it seem. Brazil, Russia and other countries have had many bad issues while hosting the World Cup but you didnt hear about it in the media as much as it is with Qatar. The truth is that many football federations and media outlets especially in Europe are upset that a country in the Middle East is getting the chance to host a World Cup and benefit from all the perks that come with that, when it could have been their countries or countries they have close ties with and similar ideologies. The scheduling thing was proposed by FIFA and by the federations involved as another negative thing to attach to this World Cup, Qatar have offered many alternatives that could have allowed the tournament to go on in the summer as usual, they proposed advanced cooling systems in stadiums or programing the games around the times of day when the heat isnt as bad but that was rejected. When the USA hosted the World Cup in 1994 it was known that the heat was going to be unbearable with temperatures as hot as Qatar in some areas, but nobody said anything or proposed to play it in the winter, in Brazil 2014 the levels of humidity combined with heat were known to be terrible during that season but again no one said anything about scheduling except for some coaches and players during the tournament. If you are going to comment on a topic at least try to be objective and well informed, dont just be a sheep that follows the narrative you were given.
@@saadx7724 and even with the media scrutiny, Qatar still really hasn’t had to answer or be held accountable for those worker pay issues and conditions, accountability would’ve been actually them being stripped of the WC, sorry if you feel otherwise, but it’s not like FIFA has shyed away from the controversy, they’re just so shameless they don’t care.
@@vidalrodriguez2001 That's not true though, since 2015 the Qatari government has introduced many reforms to its labour laws including the increase of minimum wage and tighter regulations on employment agencies. You would have known this if you did your research. And FIFA representatives from multiple federations have put pressure on them for that matter Again i'm not saying Qatar is doing eveything well, they have done some mistakes especially on the subject o immigrant workers. But my point is that it is greatly exagerrated by the media due to politics, and that many World Cup hosting countries have done terrible things that werent covered at all in the same way.
@@saadx7724 assurances should’ve been made to FIFA from the Qatari government that worker mistreatment wouldn’t have happened from the beginning, not 5 years after the selection was made, mistakes made in this situation is worker deaths and mistreatment, to a gross degree. I don’t care what FIFA has done after the fact as they aren’t any kind of righteous organization with their treatment of host countries themselves and their ultimate host selection choices. The bid itself was corrupt from the onset as FIFA full on enabled it from the top on down.
Architects: Let's build a stadium that will resemble a shell so that average people with no knowledge of architecture will be able to identify it. Bronco: It looks like a shell! I'm an architectural genius!
I never comment, but today I have something to say. These stadiums are covered with the blood of thousands of dead slaves who died during construction. Once because of the unbelievable heat, much worse, the forced laborers lived under inhumane conditions. Then their passports were taken away by their employers, and they often didn't get a SALARY! Many of the workers came from extremely poor backgrounds, and they left their families behind to earn money. There are enough reasons not to watch this World Cup!
As a Qatari and as a proud girl of my country i want to say please dont take any information from the media its not true .. there are beers in Qatar but not everywhere they put places for that , out of the stadium there’s beer inside no , we just let the beers for u guys and respect that u want it and let it be in many places to make u enjoy the game when is the beers illegal in our country ! why some of people didn’t respect our culture and our religon!! . The gay flags its not legal in our country and in our religion so why u dont accept that and let all of us watch the matches in peace ! Would u be okay if u invited some people to ur home and let them changes ur home rules!! U will not accept that because its ur own home ur own place and ur own rules ! That what i want to say ! U must respect our religon and our culture its only 1 month why peoples can’t enjoy the games and stop be hating on Qatar and focus on our religon and our culture! Nobody gonna change any of these ! Just RESPECT RESPECT RESPECT and enjoy the game ! Love from Qatar 🇶🇦
As a Qatari the information about the human rights “dead peoples” it’s not true at all it”s only 3 peoples and Qatar feel so bad for them and Qatar was upset with that so they contact their families and let them feel better by having them in Qatar and give them what they want . All of us wish the 3 souls rest in peace 🤍. But, all the information that u hear from the social media about 15 thousands of peoples were dead while building these stadiums or whatever I swear it’s not true at all not because its my country but really Qatar gets too much hates because its an islamic country . Anyway, i love ur reaction . Love from Qatar🇶🇦💞
the hypocrisy in these comments, people didnt have the same energy when workers died the past world cups but since its a Arabic Muslim country now all of a sudden they act like they care
So many people parrot unfounded statements about Qatar and the development of the stadiums, it makes me wonder how of y'all 'critics' actually looked up the facts and checked independent sources from within and outside of Qatar. Most likely, you haven't. Don't just swallow second-hand information. Do your own research and then make your judgment.
Those stadiums will be half empty or filled with "fake fans". Hotels cost thousands a night and there hotel capacity for like 20% of word cup visitors. Its a disgrace.
As much as I hate FIFA's decision awarding Qatar the 2022 World Cup, I give credit where credit due. Qatar has had the long term planning to be a home of soccer. They hosted the Final Round of 1994 World Cup qualifiers in Asia when Qatar wasn't even a thing in soccer. Now they are harvesting their works.
Those stadiums are nice, not going to lie, but i really wish you would focus on the negatives of this Tournament a bit more. It makes no sense to host the world cup in a country, where football isn't even a thing, where it is so hot, that the world cup has to be in winter. Also the amounts of people who died building these stadiums are mad. I read, that divided by the number of games, every game equals about 250 dead slaves. You should really think about that...
