i love how in making the most boring match, he immediately had several incredibly intense exciting moments happen, the knowledge on tier 1 lunge, the ballsy plays, the fact that its a scratched myers who got a grab

This makes me think you could make a series on "Most X build possible." Like most "convoluted build possible" or "least synergistic build possible" or "most heals" or "most likely to make your teammates hate your guts".

Would definitely put distortion into that build, because blocking aura perks makes it much less likely for the killer to find and chase you.

Diversion is such a fun perk to use. There's a serious side to it but that typically only works once, maybe twice. But there's nothing funnier than a killer running straight at you and you toss a rock at them for them to turn around as you slowly crouch walk away.

whenever I use something like this, I always get found first and tunneled. But when I run a funny multiple health point build, I'm left alone all game

Man, this build plus Myers makes me realize how much atmosphere the terror radius and chase music really add to the game. Felt like an ASMR video for real.

That's why I always run soul guard. My favorite perk, killers usually run devour or noed and that free pickup, hit, speedboost has let me escape more times than it should. Sometimes I get no value, but when I do, I get VALUE

The charm Otz is talking about is from Tome 5 Unleashed, the last level, the Pustula Flower (I believe) Because Tome 3 Escalation has the Lvl 3 Golden Entity Abstract.

there is one charm that I think very, very slightly gives survivor an advantage. The iri flashlight charm can slightly obscure the killers vision when you're being carried because it has a little beam that pokes out.

I almost always run very odd builds. I like the challenge it brings and I also just like how the perks work. My favorite build is wake up!, Vigil, hope, and made for this (often switch between made for this and an exhaust perk). One of my other fave builds is Kindred, Open Handed, sprint burst and blood rush. Another build I use a lot is ace in the hole, plunders, appraisal and deception.

I've been running Deja Vu in my main build these last few weeks and it's been a lifesaver tbh. Breaking 3 gens on my own constantly has been such a help for solo que games. It helps where at the end the last 3 are far apart as can be, and I can see them all.

My build is desperate measures, kindred, aftercare, and either prove or deja vu sometimes replaced with the rare lithe, but i mostly only use exhaustion perks for chase challenges 😂

this video was so cozy!!! I really enjoyed it and would love to see more like it :3 also I think the Pride charms can be an advantage or disadvantage depending on what kinda player you are. If you like chases, some killers may be more likely to try and tunnel you out, and cool rad awesome killers may let you live or be a little less likely to use unfun strategies against you. I think this effect is magnified if you use specific pride flags, such as the trans/nonbinary flags, or just specific flags that may apply to you or something. these advantages/disadvantages are obviously super marginal, but I think it's worth mentioning :p

Lately I've been addicted to Iron will more than anything. My go to build is: Iron Will, Fogwise, Inner Healing and Resil. I change Fogwise or Resil out a lot though. But given that I've been playing a lot of Quentin lately I feel obligated to run Adrenaline for lore reasons. Bonus: Honorable mention for Potential Energy. I really love playing with that perk, it's the 3-gen stall saviour and it feels so good when you pull it off in a situation like that.

You can also use the pretige haunted grounds to make survivors scared of clensing and the flashlight charm bc it covers the vision of the killer when you're getting carried (sometimes)

a build I like using that is similar to that one is: prove thyself, deja vu, situational awareness, and self-aware. With this build, you can do gens faster but still have the information necessary to know if you should stay on the gen or go and unhook. self-aware I just a perk that I like using but it can be easily switched out for something more useful.

A good perk combo to get away from killers is smash hit and parental guidance. I use this all the time and it's very good.

I know this video is kinda old but i recently switched up my build from dramaturgy, botany knowledge, we'll make it, and leadership (healing centered build) to decisive strike, made for this, deadhard, and deliverance (anti-tunneling) and ive had some super fun matches. Using deliverance only moments after the killer leaves the hook ensures theyll immediately come back to tunnel me then i get to use all my second chance perks

i love running the bloodrush sprint burst combo cus killers do not expect it near the end, they think “oh i’ve got this guy” but then see me run far far away an hearing the last gen pop activating hope is super fun.

I absolutely suck at looping and can't say I enjoy being chased most of the time (I would play almost exclusively killer if not for the long queues), so that looks like a build for me :D Minus Streetwise and the Medkit since I don't use items. I'd probably use Distortion so I can get on my gen and just not worry about getting found first if the Killer uses Lethal Pursuer.

I’ve recently been getting more and more perks as I prestige my characters and it has been so fun doing different builds with my friends such as head on builds and speed builds. I definitely relate to the meta perks though lmao.

Since we're talking about charms with advantages, I think there is one tricky charm on survivor that works best if teammates bring flashlights. There is the entity covered flashlight that gives off a beam of light. I've seen a few players confused by it before, you just have to make sure it's towards the center of your body.

I decided to try solo Q build - Prove thyself, Situational Awareness, Corrective Action and Deja Vu, It is rather plain, but it's pretty handy to guide some players, help with objective and save some missed skillchecks (Sometimes it legit saves the progress, cuz of random skillcheck explosion) it's pretty nice to play it time to time

Hey Otz, I really like your recent commentary in the 'in game' videos. I think you've gotten better at it

I like to do “similar” perk builds. Actually ended up finding a build I like to stick with that way. And by “similar” I mean like finding perks that have the same effects or requirements. Example: Borrowed Time - Endurance + Speed Guardian - Speed + Aura Reading Buckle Up - Aura Reading + Speed We’re Gonna Live Forever - Endurance And all of them are for saving other survivors.

Scavenger, replace the medkit with the beefiest toolbox you can get your hands on, Overcome, and Distortion. Also, for the charms thing, one thing I do is I put the brightest charms possible on my hooks. This is to help counteract the aura blocking effects from Boil Over or Residual Manifest

I usually run spirtburst, lucky break, windows, and prove thyself but mostly for extra blood points and I often changed the last 2 perks to play around with new ones

There’s a problem with diversion at the moment, it can generate the noise notification on top of the event statues which makes it very obviously a diversion notification.

I never run Prove Thyself without Better Together. You need Better Together to attract survivors to your generator like a magnet in soloq, it even helps in swf so they know which gen you are on. I tried Prove Thyself, Better Together, and Deja Vu for gen build and got tunnelled hard by Wraith. I just wished I had Decisive Strike in that match lol.

imo best use for charms on killer is having a very bright one (like auric cell) to help you spot hooks in the open

I almost always try to use blast mine for every build it's very fun, but when i see Ci and DL and the Kellers start to camp every game i give them the bombastic side eye and just bring sprint and BNP to make the games easier so it's just a direct correlation (I hope the last sentence makes sense, English is not my first language ^^).

My current build is lithe, we'll make it, flashbang and either reassurance, UB or kindred but mostly reassurance since i got it recently. As for flashbang i got them somewhat recently aswell but just enjoyed using them, learning the timing was also interesting and everytime you pull it off its fun xD

honestly i dont consider stealth to be more boring than gens, but if u want u can run "left behind", "open handed", "sprint burst", "self aware" and just walk around with a key and a blood amber until u find a hatch. maybe not the most thing for the player who does it, but you'll most likely annoy both the killer and ur teammates with that playstyle and build

The most unbelievable part of this is A) a "boring" survivor knowing how to loop, and B) a Myers NOT bringing in Judith's or Tombstone, and instead actually bringing in insta-down perks to actually PLAY the game.

I don't know if its some new mmr system or something but I've been noticing a lot lower game quality since the anniversary event has begun. Survivors are intentionally dying on hook or dcing more, killers camping/tunnelling more. It could also be something to do with the invitations, I guess people really want to get the cosmetics or they hate the invitation abilities (I think the pallet break one at 7:00 is super op personally).

Resilience and adrenaline for the ultimate gen rush. I also recommend kindred for solo que (obv). Eventually distortion so the killer doesn't know you are just doing gens in the background.

I've done EW1 Myers without the mirror before. Yoinked five people right off of gens, got the Adept achievement, on the snow lodge map. It's kinda fun.

I was very interested in the Scratch Mirror Myers and why it failed so miserably in this showcase. You could say it's a skill issue, but also note the killer got an unlucky map. This build needs an indoor map, lots of walls and corners to use for ambushing. If all the gens are in the open, the survivors get to see you coming and you immediately lose your best angle. And then no one is scared of you, the one or two chases you get are too long because the survivor isn't panicking or making mistakes, and they also know to heal quickly, reset, get to gens, and because Otz brought Wake Up! the gate is open so fast that your crazy engame insurance doesn't even work.

My current favorite build is blastmine, flashbang,head on, quick and quiet and its soo much fun with all the blinding of the killer

This feels similar to a build I've been running: prove thyself, deja vu, friendly competition, and a filler perk (right now its hope, sometimes other things.) To be fair though, I've been doing trio games with one person who's decent and one person who isnt that good. In these cases, it's pretty common to end up in a 3v1 or 2v1 early, so it's nice to be able to make up for some of the gen speed to counteract lost team mates. Or, ya know... one of my team usually runs Kindred and open handed, so if we catch a killer hard camping/tunneling, it's also really nice to be able to get out of a game like that ASAP by rushing the gens too.

i run a build super similar to this and i love it. i'm super bad in chase and genuinely love doing gens and qtes.

Deja Vu was one of my favorite perks when I played. Pair it with Repressed Alliance and chase perks to do gens aggressively in the killers face and punish them whether they ignore you or not. Also good for solo q so randoms don't get you stuck in a 3 gen

The way i always played is spin the random wheel. It lands on a survivor and than that survivor with his/her 3 perks and 1 of my choice. and thats it and its fun

I know this is old but on the topic of survivor beneficial charms: the one that shines and gives off actual light always trips me the hell out when I pick up a survivor cause it looks like a flashlight is going into my eyes

I feel for that Jane. I've been playing since 2017 atleast and i still have a few bot games where I'm targeted as a weak link and I'm just not playing well enough to survive

I'm now using For the People Made for this Hope Resilience Probably more on the meta side but its quite useful to fill any gap in a team. Also its so funny when you cure someone up instantly and they don't realize they've been healed already lol.

Tbh i just took off made for this because i hate using meta perks. My build as of rn and has been for a few years. For the people, wglf, botany, aftercare. It is such a fun build I definitely reccomend otz or anyone try it. Its super good for saving people who have been downed in chase or even taking chase and healing others due to aftercares info.

I try to use one perk from the survivor and make a build around that. My fav is object and spine chill with sprint burst and resilience

My build is kinda meta but I run Deliverance, Balanced Landing, Kindred, and Hope. I run those perks for a lore accurate James Sunderland, but I can also replace Kindred for Object of Obsession for extra hard mode

My poor wake up was put into this build, but I guess it makes sense as all it does is open gates faster. But it’s such a good perk, I like it

Here's a build that I use that could classify as boring: Déjà Vu, Poised, Prove Thyself, Situational Awareness. Poised can be switched out for Corrective Action or Fast Track in lower MMR, or Fogwise in higher MMR. If you want a more exciting build to mess w/ the killer, try this: Background Player, Breakout, Flashbang, Inner Focus. You can also switch out for Reactive Healing.

My current build is overcome, empathy, Mettle of man and renewal. My idea is to tank hits to deny potential downs for the killer and buy my teammates more time or heal them/repair gens together if they stays injured.
