“Viewers seeing the same champions picked every game” That is always the case. Lately it’s Zeri, Ksante, Skarner, Corki, Azir, Vi, etc.

even fearless draft runs to this issue. the only saving grace of this is that fearless allows for far more champions to be shown on screen since at a best of three by the third game you have 30 champions banned. lck academy teams have some very nice matches and drafts due to that. i really recommend looking in any fearless draft league. i hope they implement it in more major leagues and maybe stuff like msi and worlds. it would make for a very interesting meta since so many champs must be used. in a best of 5 even in a 3-0 you have seen 40 champions picked or banned. imagine a close best of 5 with 46 bans before the first pick of the game. actually putting great pressure to both the coaches and the players to become all rounders instead of running the same old back each game.

Im genuinely disappointed that this lack some legends. At least he talked about the season 5 tank meta. Thunderlord, 10 player picking it. Darkharvest, 10 player picking it and even a soraka can oneshot with 1 auto. 6x sunfire perma-invisible twicth/evelyn. Mundo, but with mejai-like item that grants HP instead. Warwick with bloodrazor build, point click to ult the adc and oneshot. River shen. Inter sion. Full burn diana. And many more.

There are actually some mistakes in this video, I'll try to cover them. Black Cleavers original Build path was some ad item (i think it was pickaxe)+attackpeed, they later changed it to what's in your video and people startet using black cleaver meta from this point. Kleptomancy, as far as i know, only had the first autoattack trigger the rune at release, but in the need of trying to cut off Klepto Viktor Top, they changed it to "the next 2 autoattacks" and made the rewars for each auto less efficient. Feel free to correct me if i am wrong on this :)

I remember being introduced to league in S2. I was told to build 3 blood thirsters and 2 phantom dancers on Yi as well as boots. I played that for a season and had a STUPID high win rate. It was so fun.

Nah. There were worse metas than that. Remember S10 - Death's Dance meta? Very, very awful. ZZ portal + banner? 30 stacks jungle item? There were many bad metas. However, nobody cares since e-sport is the only thing. Right? Solo queue had many bad times.

Fiora full tiamat , z rod, banner of command, ryze full rod of age, the old jungle item the lantern things from s3, you used it as a ward, 2 people with this item could solo nash at lv 6, the old tabi boots who have % dodge, the recall option we had before, almost everyone took the homeguard thing, fast regen and go to lane fast, DFG to nuke people, the old force of nature from season 1/2 , insane hp regen, couldnt kill tank with nash buff, the good old heat of gold, philosopher stone and the ap one... anything was op at some point if played well

Old Locket of the Iron Solari used to base on bonus hp. Old Stoneplate active increase max hp by 100% if there are more than 3 enemy nearby. So if you stack hp, running into the middle of the enemy, Stoneplate then Locket, you can effectively double your whole team health for a fight.

7:28 Bro you can't show that. Those were brutal times, 52min, only 18 kills in total and 500+ Farm on Laners. Those days were so slow in comparison to todays meta.

Fact on ardent censer, it was viable and op before most of its changes, practically all season 7. It received buffs so that players would spot them on the patch and actually try the item, it started seeing play near end of season, the players were just sleeping on it. Its something the balance team does somewhat regularly, phreak talked about this in one of his patch breakdown videos not soo long ago

pretty sure you got 1 thing wrong. im farely certain they had unique passives on some items back when they made black cleaver. they just didn't do it for that particular item

Two of the Worst times I lived through were Funnel and Ardent Cancer Meta . Ironically enough busted broken early days of league were more enjoyable than these 2

Ah yes, how could I forget the triple cleaver Jarvan IV, when he would flag and Q you and it already shredded a good chunk of your armor, plus the three cleavers activating at the same time by the Q alone, followed by his auto empowered with Martial Cadence passive immediately sending your HP to Narnia. Fun times.

Poppys are still solo killing fioras. She can't Dash to get passive procs, Poppy does good %HP, and typically builds anti-heal.....

5.16 was one of the best patches, the only issue is it should have been done sooner. If it was done at the start of the season pros would have time to adapt. At any rate a top lane meta of juggernauts( which has basically never happened again on such a scale) is much better than an adc or tank meta. Currentlya adc's are safe with their items that give ms, but also deal insane damage. You can't reach them and they nuke you in 2 seconds.

5 black cleavers was OP but the sleeper was 6 Tiamat Fiora. Old Fioras ult counted as auto attacks so each hit would have the Tiamat aoe and with 6 Tiamats the aoe would hit for full damage so if you hit a ult on the whole team you would just shred everyone instantly while being untargetable 😂

are you sure that's how the cleavers worked? I remember pantheons building multiple black cleavers and hitting literally an entire hp bar instantly with heir on-hit spray ability whatever it was called. I was under the impression that it didn't cap out at 30%, but instead added a 30 for each cleaver you had. So if you have 6 cleavers you could reach 180% armor pen and every always insta-died. Maybe im misremembering but it felt a LOT more overpowered than how it was explained in the video.
