The main difference between NFL and Rugby is that NFL while having pads, there's no real official technique to tackle someone. In rugby, notice how most of them were getting low and putting their heads to the side of the torso. Most of the hits are taken on the shoulders. This actually leads to less serious head injuries. You still can get broken noses, this happens often, but permanent brain damage is not as big a thing for rugby.

Its important for those who don't know rugby that a lot of these tackles are illegal.

The fundamental difference between Rugby and NFL is that a tackle ends the play in NFL and in rugby that carries on for minutes with person often making multiple tackles.Cardio requirements completely different. Plus rugby players have to fit enough too last 80 min with only 10min break whereas Superbowl 19 a game of 60 min took hours to complete which is bullshit

Guys .. as a born and bred Kiwi boy ,, we grew up playing this sport .. so we're conditioned, trained and taught to take the tackles, how to read the tackles and how to administer the tackle .. along with trying to get that ball pass everyone else on that field of play by any means except passing the ball forward ( if a player has that ball he can not pass it in front of himself to another player) .. so if you mess up .. your will definitely be messed up by the other team .. so you learn to use your other team mates, your skills, your training and conditioning to win or just plain survive a game .. the best thing about this game .. is when your done and the last whistle is blown .. you respect the other team and the players for stepping up in the game and being there to shed their blood with yours .. real game .. real men .. real sportsmen .. welcome to our game of football .. we call it RUGBY .. oh and back home NZ .. after school .. we played a game called scrag .. rugby without rules or loyalties .. either played out on a field or in a four wall concrete or bricked in-closure .. that'll teach you to take a hit ... hahahaha ... good times ...

In Rugby a try is similar to a touchdown but the difference is they must put the ball on the ground to score. And they can only pass the ball laterally. Rugby is solely based on teamwork and brutality.

I'm 18 and I've been playing rugby for as long as i can remember. You really don't get as many injuries as you would think you'd get. A few concussions, broken bones and headaches, but nothing too severe. (On average)

Ok so a little history lesson for you, it’s the very short version, not going to go into detail, so Rugby was invented from football, I am talking football football not American football, a schoolboy while playing football got pissed off because he wasn’t very good at it so pick the ball up and ran with it and the other players tried to stop him and essentially that’s how rugby was invented and the game is named after the school this happened at, Rugby School and was therefore called Rugby Football. There are two types of rugby, well technically 3 but will pick that up later.... Rugby Union, the original traditional version! There is also rugby league, which is a branch of rugby, the official rugby board at the time would not allow rugby clubs to be formed without the permission of the games official governing body and you had to follow the rules and laws they had or you could not play, the north of England which is mostly working class, had teams consisting of working class players, these teams wanted to compensate their players for missing work to play the game for example and the governing body did not agree with compensating the players and so as an act of defiance the northern teams created their own version of the game and called it rugby league and had their own governing body!! They could now do as they wanted and weren’t under the rugby union governing body. This is where American football comes in and why I said earlier that there were technically 3 types of rugby, Americans were playing rugby and like with the northern teams in England, they wanted to change some of the rules to better suit them and the rugby union governing body wouldn’t allow them, so the American clubs branched off and created their own version of rugby, which is what you all know as American football, the reason it’s called American football is because of a misunderstanding of the origin of the name Rugby football, the Americans thought it was named after the place in England called rugby and so just straight out swapped rugby for American when really it should have either been called American rugby football or American rugby, American football is wrong as it’s not football or an American version of football, it’s an American version of rugby, American football evolved from rugby not football! I hope this is helpful and helps also explain why football fans get so annoyed by Americans calling American football “football” and football “soccer” when football has and will always be called football as is the only football, there are no others! If America wants to call their version of rugby American football, fine, but always refer to it as American football, never refer to it as just football!! lol

Alot of these tackle are illegal. They would be sent off if you were to tackle someone with only your shoulder you need to wrap your two arms around them. It is also illegal to tackle above the shoulders.

Sweet video bro. Rugby is basically this.. imagine American Football where only lateral passes are allowed and have to be backwards. No blocking, however kicking is allowed. When tackled there is a "ruck" formed which is basically another version of scrimmage.

There is several ways to score there is areas at each end of the pitch that you have to run into and put the ball on the ground you can also slide past the line as long as the ball is touching the ground. Also there is to goals similar to american football goals you can kick it through there

Tackles 3 and 4 were within about 20-30 seconds of each other (about 2/3 phases apart) in the same game... Australia (the team in yellow getting hammered) then scored about 30 seconds after big George and Richard Hibbard lit up two of their players. Pity it was against Wales... that was one of the best Wales vs Oz games recently, until autumn 2018 when we won (it wasn't as entertaining though)

rugby was invented in a town called rugby in england by william webb ellis. he picked up a soccer ball during a game and ran to the other end of the pitched and scored a try, what you call a touch down. head gear is only use to help prevent cuts and cauliflower ears. we do wear mouth guards to stop teeth getting fucked up. people wear shoulder pads but they are just foam to help soften up some impacted when tackling.

Rugby is an everyday sport in many parts of the Southern Hemisphere. Kids as young 6 play it and it's usually extremely safe and well regulated.

Rugby is a super serious sport but I love it and I love playing it. I broke my arm because of it a few months ago but I’m recovering very well and I’m willing to step on that rugby field again because of how much I love the sport

Rugby is a sport I love being British and all. I play rugby and as a result to your statement “they must get injuries” yeah we do, I’ve got cauliflower ear in my right ear. A piece of my left ear missing due to a stud and have had multiple soft tissue damage and currently rocking a broken rib.
