This is probably one of the best fragrance Q&As I have seen in a lonnnnng time. The authenticity and transparency was everything we needed to finish off 2022! Im just like you. I started truly collecting about a year ago and I have over 100 bottles and 90% are blind buys 🤣

Blind buying is an addiction and the high is the surprise of smelling the fragrance for the first time not knowing really what to expect 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 I’ve gotten samples of fragrances, liked them, then bought the full bottle but the excitement just isn’t the same because I already know what it smells like 😂 I know you understand what I’m saying! Girl yes that Gallagher bottle is so ugly and the fragrance would’ve been perfect without that stainless steel. I should’ve bought Wicked Good or Vanilla Silk.

Gurl, I am right there with you on Vanilla Royale. I like the scent but it does not play well on my skin sadly😢. I bought the 100ml thinking I was going to love it as I love the others in her collection but that fragrance on my skin disappeared in 30 minutes. I’m hoping it does better on my clothes cause I’m in love with the packaging. We shall see if it gets better with time.

It lasts pretty good on my skin. But that patchouli is giving me a menthol vibe. It does smell better on me than out the bottle I will say. But I see me just using it to layer with.

@@DeniseAdore yes like you said 90%of my collection came from RU-vid recommendations. But my passion for fragrances started in 2019 when I was working PT at Walmart and Target 🙃. They had a little fragrance section. I would spray the tester on me every single day lol. However, none Of the fragrances would last or project like I wanted. Then I turned to RU-vid and learned about notes, silliage, oil and etc. I fell in love with fragrances for real!!! Started collecting in 2021 and rebuilding in 2022. I wish I could show you my empties Gworl.

My fragrance collection goal is to fully represent the fragrance wheel of all fragrance categories with examples that I love. I don't want 100 bottles of vanilla. I like to have best in class - green, animalic, floral, amber, etc. I also like artistic representations in perfume - a story or a journey. This helps me manage the collection and my budget. Oh there is a new release!!! Oh wait - it is just another fruity floral - I do NOT need that until I use some others up.

I agree! I love to have a variety of fragrances and not all the same things. Maybe some slight similarities as one may be a lighter airy version of another for a different season. I’m really appreciating artistry and uniqueness as well. I’m trying to be more mindful of what I’m adding to my collection and not just buying any and everything.

@@DeniseAdore I have been going through my collection and realised I only had 2 acquatic perfumes - so I added aquatic perfumes to my wishlist. I recently found Electric Rhubarb (acquatic scent with a fruity name) on sale and had no guilt whatsoever in buying that one as it is a good example of the category and good quality. I wear it when I take my little baby swimming at the gym swimming pool so it gets a lot of wear.

OMG! I love that Burberry elixir. I don’t have too many fruity fragrances. But it’s soft, pretty and nice to wear for bed or to run errands. Layer it with that Casablanca. It’s so pretty. I don’t know what note thats in it but it doesn’t agree with my skin at all. Now that Tribeca and Greenwhich village are must haves. They’ll always be in my collection. Try those l’interdit flankers. I love those as well.

I said the same thing about Rosé All Dae! It hasn’t particularly grown on me. I have the old bottle and it leaks (which apparently was a common problem). Part of why I’m highly skeptical of fragrance reviews and recs

Yea I haven’t figured out how to make Rose All Dae work for me. As soon as I find out I’ll let y’all know. I just need to find the right layering combo. So far nothing works 😂 Well I guess we all have to be skeptical. Even I’m skeptical when I watch reviews so I make sure to find ppl that I feel like they keep it real. Now that doesn’t mean I’m going to like everything they like of course. But I do feel more comfortable watching their reviews and taking their recommendations. I know there’s no guarantees when it comes to blind buying so I’ve been trying to sample more too. Even though you may not like everything I like, w will always give my honest opinion.

Funny thing is I'm late on the Kayali train but I bought Vanilla Royale prior to getting Vanilla 28 and I like the Sugared Vanilla better. Idk why. Elixir was the cherry popper. I have more fragrances than you can shake a stick at but I always come to my rose, amber, oud, incense and fruity white floral. I forgot the sistas name but she recently made a video and I get what she was saying when she mentioned wanting more than designer fragrances. I find myself getting bored with the flankers. With said for my last fragrance purchase this year and going on a no buy what would you purchase with those notes above that's niche or indie?
