He said if someone is not performing consistently, even if he is senior, should be kept out. 2 decades back, there were many inconsistent players in ODIs, like Gavaskar (test player), Srikanth, Ravi Sastri, Manjreker.. etc. Result is India had lost so many matches during that time. He said that tradition should change. He is right, in fact, only performers should be there in the team. No doubt Verendra Sehwag is greatest and most fluent batsman in the world.

I think Sehwag made many people to watch test cricket in India. There were days, without him, merely people were coming to watch tests. His strike rate was very similar in both format.

I would strongly disagree. He does not know the fine line between arrogance and confidence. Sachin and Dravid are much better candidates in this regard. Both are better cricketers at the same time much more respectable.
