Yeah, it was kinda bizarre listening to these heartbreaking, disturbingly, gruesome stories, while silly music you'd expect to hear in a saloon, during a bad, old timie Western, played in the background.....DEFINITELY didn't mesh well together.
Oddly though, I prefer the upbeat sound over the generic spook music that some other channels use. Idk, maybe I’m just a wuss. Or maybe people could have no music
My daughter was a nurse paramedic, worked the ambulance for 11 years, the stories of the murders, accidents, suicides and natural deaths she would tell at the breakfast table were amazing. I don’t understand how she doesn’t have nightmares.
I saw a documentary on people who clean bio hazzard crime scenes (or where people die of natural causes). One case bothered me, but not because of the he death scene, but the fact that this guy who died(of aids I think) was estranged from his family, so when they cleaned up, they were throwing everything of his away, because no one wanted it. One of the cleaners said they were almost throwing his life away in the garbage. That was sad.
The craziest story I've been told: there was a terror attack on the Oktoberfest in Munich. AFAIK, it was done with explosives from an old cold war CIA weapon cache (which is freaky on its own and quite a rabbit whole). At the crime scene drunk people refused to leave and one attacked a cop with a detached arm! The other crazy story is from Romania: one guy shot himself twice, once in the chest missing his heart and once in the head blowing his eye out and then was still strong enough to walk for quite a while, climb a hill and a tower on it and finally succeeded by jumping from it...
my mom was a cop in new york from the late 80s til the late 90s. she told me that she did a wellness check on a woman who was relatively isolated, and rarely saw her family. it had been weeks since her daughter had seen/heard from her, so she called in. when they got there, they found her. she had died and had decomposed. this was in the winter, and her body slop had frozen into the floorboards. they had to scrape her up. my mom was a first responder at the WTC bombing, but even that didn't beat out what she saw that day.
Not gruesome, but disturbing: I studied in Germany and drove to university and spotted a car wreck with a corpse inside. She was still dressed up for party, but probably her friend was too drunk and hit a tree on a very broad and absolutely straight street... He was no longer there and his door was open. However, they must have had that crash in the early morning and by the time I came several hundred cars must have passed by and yet there was still no police! The other event was very close to home: I was preparing breakfast and got annoyed about the noise from the construction site next door. I wished that they would finally stop after already waking me up early... There was a loud bang and everything fell silent for a brief moment, then someone started to scream at the top of his lungs and started cursing with his next breath one of his colleagues... He then continued with non-verbal screams and he did so for my entire breakfast and only another 10min later his screams finally died down and another 10min later I heard sirens. The closest hospital is 5min on foot, but they came only 1h later!?! I still cannot believe what had happened. However, his screams drove me nuts. I can't describe how it felt hearing them for this long and you can turn your TV full volume and still Hera nothing but his screams.... BTW: I later asked the person in charge if he survived. That guy straight up lied in my face and told me that they never had no accident...
The other thing I don't understand are public suicides. Where I did my Ph.D. I knew 3 people who came late on different occasions all because someone threw himself in front of a train... In my favorite garden, someone committed suicide and apparently made mess all over the place and it took them half a day to clean everything up! The only two times, I found it funny: Doing an exam and a student comes in at the half point and curses loudly the idi0t who used his train to end his life... The other one you might be able to find online: an angry reporter telling everyone that he'll resign and shot himself live on air!
I haven’t had too many crazy stories yet but I’m only a month into my clinic job. The one where they said you can’t talk about your job at dinner really hit me bc I’m not allowed to talk about work bc if some of the crazy shit I have already seen or will see. Lol love clinical life
I know the following isn’t the same, but I still feel it’s worth sharing: I had a neighbor who died from a heroin overdose. I was told it was a suicide and that he struggled with depression. He was only in the apartment about four days before police came to the scene. There was no apparent smell. The tenants who moved in next were NOT told this. Yet another neighbor who had ALSO struggled with depression and alcoholism took a bottle of pills. Her body was found a week later by her son and daughter. No odor was detected in this case either. This is odd since I live a mile from the beach and it’s quite humid and one would think this would exacerbate decomposition.
I’m taking a forensics course rn, the smell of decomposition happens a while after death. It’s not that surprising that there was no odor with only 4 days.
Not sure if anyone cares but those pink erasers which leave pink stains all over are called pink pearl erasers. I still don’t know why people keep making them since you can spend the same money for a white eraser like the ones called magic rub erasers. Almost every art store sells them.
My dad (m40) had a friend who visited us very often. About 6ish years ago. But then 1 year pasted and we had not seen him so I (around 6 at the time I think. I’m 12f now) asked dad where was he? He murdered his girlfriend and then shot himself shortly after. He had problems. And it’s scary that he was so close to me and my father! Although I always had a off feeling about that man. His name was Ellie, btw. Don’t know his last name and he used to run a cafe. His weapon he used was a rifle I think or some sort of fire arm.
