In this video I show y'all how to effectively catch clown knife fish. If you ever go to Lake Ida, most people toss out a live shad and wait. However, if there are no fish where you are you won't catch one. The best way is to rig a live or dead shad, and bump troll it past structure. Appreciate ya! It was a pretty good time that day. It was part 2 from my first trip. I met a guy who was asking how to catch them and I had to give him some evidence on how I get them 😄

I have a 6'6 pfluger trion with 20lb braid, 15lb leader, 1/8 oz egg sinker and 2/0 circle hooks

What are the chances of getting one of these guys from shore? I hear it's tough. I've never caught a clown knifefish and tried a couple times without success.

Chances are pretty good. There are quite a few places to fish from,shore on lake Ida. I've seen quite a few landed from shore. The shore bite looked like it slowed down about 30 minutes after sunrise when the fish move into slightly deeper water. I'm pretty confident that you would be able to get one.
