*Have faith and patience* . I was in a ldr for about 5 years and met only 2 times during that time period. Things were difficult, both the families were not agreeing. Both had caste and cultural clashes. My family couldn't see me with him. No one believed in us, everybody tried to convince how impractical it was. However, we knew we were nothing without each other. We felt like 1 person being together. We knew our souls are determined. After 5 years, I fell terribly ill with chest pain, and was dealing with depression and anxiety, thats when my parents stepped up and opened their arms and agreed to atleast understand our relationship for once. Finally, my parents agreed to meet him and he was overjoyed and came at once to Kolkata from Punjab to meet us. That was our 2nd meet. My parents were shocked to see how connected we were and how similar our cultures are! When he went back after 8 days of staying at our home, my parents did cry and I cried seeing them bonding with him. He convinced his mom back in Punjab and shifted to Kolkata temporarily to complete rest of his CA studies also to make sure he bonds with me and my family better. After his CA we both planned moving to Delhi for completing my MBA .We live quite close now and meet almost daily and we are inseparable now. He visits my home and we have a lot of fun time with my family and things got so much better. But all this didn't happen that easily. There were so much distrust, disbelief poured in us, so many hurdles, so many breaks and sleepless nights. Also we don't know what might come in the future , we just make sure to live the present and enjoy it as much as possible. We know that we have not reached our end goal, and there will be so many more hurdles, but we are relieved that we are together and we are sure , we can tackle them all. His dad is not yet convinced and he is quite strict and believes in traditional way of life which I respect as well. So we're still finding our happily ever after. Long distance is so painful because you can't meet the person every day, even if you want to see them. You should have some patience for uncountable days like 3-4 years, and whenever you meet your special one on the day, which is one of the special days in our lives. I miss my special one.
