'Most engaging and genuine person': Sam Newman remembers friend Shane Warne 

Really feel for Sam, the most miss-understood person in TV history. He played a character on the Footy Show and not many understand that. Without doubt he is one of the smartest well spoken and intelligent people I've heard and he's been put through the mincer the last few years. Much respect John and hope life gets better for you.

I can tell Shane ment a lot to Sam and everyone he met. Sam's emotions and aura spoke more about what a great human being Shane Warne was even more than his words about him.

We used to hate him when he bowled South Africans out. But at the same time, as cricket lovers, we loved him as one of the best cricket players in the world. The classical hate-love relationship. The world is a worse place without you, Shane.

i really feel for Sam. having known Shane also personally myself, its gut wrenching to see such a good bloke like Sam talk about another humble man, who has tragically passed away. Shane was an absolute gentleman. Every time he stayed at Crown Melbourne, he was so modest, would sit there and light up a cigarette, engage in conversation while his beloved matte grey Mercedes G63 was brought to him in valet parking. was so sad seeing his son Jackson driving it from Essendon airport after the body of Shane was flown in. Warnie will be missed by all his family, friends and fans around he world, the KING OF SPIN. I would ask for all to give his immediate family privacy for this extremely sad part of their lives and ask all to give to the Shane Warne foundation to support people in need of help as thats the kind of man Warnie was. A generous man with his time and a fine gentleman gone too soon. RIP my friend.

It still hasn't sunk in for me here in London that Warnie is gone. Ah, it hurts like hell. I've been alive now for 3.5 decades and haven't seen such mourning for any player in the UK press, let alone an Aussi. He truly was bigger than life and we are mourning over this loss as if we lost one of our own. It's so hard to process the emotions of losing someone with the Aura of Warnie, someone who felt invincible and yet so humane when you talk to him. I hope you're having one hell of a party mate wherever you are. You'll be sorely missed not just in Australia but here in the UK, India, West Indies and South Africa as well. Hell, even my American friends heard about you through your exploits in Golf and were shocked. The only silver lining though is that you lived life on your terms and even though it was much too short, you did more in one lifetime than what anyone would do in 10. Having lived in Thailand for 4 years I can assure you that I would be very suspicious about the death of this man. A lot of older, wealthy men die in Thailand under suspicious circumstances. Usually there is a Thai Girl Friend 7 her family involved. It's an industry in Thailand. usually it involved ripping off money. He was a very young man to die at 52 years old. I don't know his health condition.
