Agree. He is the one who made fielding glamorous at a time when cricket used to be mostly about batting and bowling. His runouts are insane and the man flew 3 feet in the air, literally, to take a catch off Sachin once.
@@lifekmjj1even dashing into the wickets to Run Out Inzi, his 3 meter flight to dismiss Sachin Sir and his valour against the mighty Aussies gives us the Goosebumps every time ❤
and then went on to score a hundred in 4th inns only to end up on the losing side.. 🥲 and supposedly it is said he scored those runs with a factured finger..
The catcher at 5:24 was England's Paul Collingwood; always a great fielder who practised many hours at it to remain so. He's retired as a player now but is England's fielding coach.
9:20 That's current Indian Coach Rahul Dravid. In the cricket world they call him "The Wall" is the one who faced most number of deliveries in test cricket history 9:50 Johnty Rhodes. He is considered to be the best fielder of all time
How can video maker miss the most epic Sachin Tendulkar's catch by Jonty Rhodes ( Diving in the air almost three feets above the ground and parallel to ground with reaction time of fraction of Second )
Jonty Rhodes was the best fielder of all time. He once came as a substitute fielder for another player who got injured during the match and won the man of the match for Fielding. It had never happened before and never happened again.
Now that's what I call a compilation of best catches. Apart from Kohli's catch, every catch was just phenomenal. Especially Rahul Dravid's catch surprised me. I didn't seen that catch up until now. & That probably one of the most fastest catch I have ever seen apart from Jonty Rhodes.
Manish Pandey, Ben Stokes, Virat Kohli, Faf Du Plessis. Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Santner, Hardik Pandya & Shabaz Ahmed these guys are also really good fielders....😊
The catch that comes at right angle as soon as it is delivered by the bowler and hit by the batsmen are the toughest ones. The field position is called point. The ball comes to you like a bullet when you are fielding at this position. Every team have their BEST of the BEST fielders in this position. Jonty Rhodes, AB De Villiers, R. Jadeja etc.
Jhonty Rhodes from South Africa just changed the way how catching & fielding was done till 90s Back then it was very lazy fielding & sub standard catching
I have caught baseballs. Although they are the same weight as a cricket ball, it is far more softer at the surface. Cricket balls sting! And they come off at equal velocities from the cricket bat compared to baseballs. A line drive in baseball is fast but it’s the same in every shot in cricket because the bat is flat and the force going into the shot is quite heavy in cricket. A cricketer could probably catch baseballs quite easily (I tried it and I am an amateur cricket player) Also it’s precisely why cricket balls don’t bounce off the hands that easily. They are rock hard and settle in. Believe me I have broken fingers 4 times catching cricket balls in school and club cricket. Professional cricketers catch shots that are bullet fast and it can take your hand away quite literally
That's not true at all...We all Know he is a Gun Fielder.. Just tell me who is a Better fielder than him in our Current ICT other than Ravindra Jadeja???
@@vaibhav2973 also he is one of the very few fielders in Modern Cricket who basically Fields everywhere on the ground..There is not a specific position for him because he is capable of fielding anywhere
@@drprathamprakash1408 he obvsly is an amazing fielder ... As you said Jadeja and maybe prime Raina , Kaif and a very few others can be compared to him .. but I'm specifically talking about this particular catch . What do you think , is it eligible to in the video ?...
Best catch was by Mark Waugh, when Inzimam was batting against Australia, Second best was by Martin Crowe when Dave Houghten was batting in 87 world cup lol
I'm so impressed by the camera work in India. Ffs Australian, English, Kiwi cameramen can't see where the hell the ball went. I hate that. If you see matches in India, you can clearly see the ball right from when it leaves the bowler's hands to the boundary. Forget about it if it is in Australia or England
I played cricket for many years (45+) and the thing with catches is you often catch the fast difficult ones by pure instinct and never feel them at all. The one's that you don't get quite right are the painful ones. We didn't use gloves (apart from the wicket-keeper) and no one ever thought anything of it. Ground fielding could be painful as well with unpredictable bounces close to you that once in a while causes split fingers or dislocations.
The video is clearly created by an indian... That is why you have seen a normal catch of virat kohli and other normal catches taken by indians in this list
Please please react to the Film Companion Directors Cut with Sidharth Aanand. It's amazing and sid is a great personality and you'll get to know more about the making of pathaan
I wonder why no one includes ponting catch against sri lanka where he dived backwards to take a brilliant catch. Well in this one jadeja s catch against NZ nailed it
Guys for emotional story purposes Brendan Fraser might win the acting performance, also seeing him edge coz he's already a golden globe winner. Yes Austin is the one who deserves it for Elvis but I think the academy might give it to Fraser as u spoke. I just hope they don't snub RRR atleast for best original Song, I just don't trust the academy voters who will favour Rihanna or go for EEAAO song due to favouritism & the fact that were outsiders to them . I will never forget the Paul collingwood catch of Matthew Hayden, perhaps the best I've seen.
One day you will watch a best of 'Jonty Rhodes' and you will teach your kids how to catch...We used to watch South Africa, take fielding, only to watch Jonty Rhodes. Try getting some good YT videos of him...Good luck.
bare handed catches are possible if you do it right, thats with soft hands - its a technique. Otherwise theres a whole world of pain if you dont know how to do it.
