I've never met someone who keeps their horse forever. They sell them when they're not useful or they out grow them. I dont like many horse people for that reason
Sarah-Jayne Brown that’s not true, I for one have kept my horses from the day they were born to the day they died my mum kept a horse from when she was 11 and the horse was 3 to when the horse died at 32 still at our house living with us, even when she became unridable we kept her because she was family, and that’s how practically everyone sees them, though there are some that sells and I don’t really get that, as to me my horses are my best friends ya know
@@yasmingraham9814 but it truly is more common that a person sells their horse rather then keep it forever. I've been around horse people my whole life, horses rarely find their forever/retirement home until old age/alot just end up at slaughter houses. even my childhood best friend who loved her first horse so much got rid of it so she could afford a better horse for showing.
Sarah-Jayne Brown but the problem is that although it’s heartbreaking people need to progress in their riding and it wouldn’t be fair to their horse/pony to push them. So they have to buy a new horse if they want to take it seriously. However, nobody is made of money and if you kept every horse you had it would be extremely expensive to pay for all of them and ride them. It’s horrible and sad but unfortunately this is the only way to make it in this sport. Besides, you can usually find a perfect home for your horse/pony that will love them just as much as you did and ensure that they end up in a loving home after them as well.
@@sarah-jaynebrown4121 you have a very poor idea of horse owners. What you forget is that a horse costs a lot of money to keep unless you happen to own a field. I know plently of people who pay for their horse to retire.
Matt, have you ever thought of getting a Friesian stallion, they are beautiful, have super temperaments, can be used for dressage and would be something a bit different from Emporio, would add variety to your stable.
CreekValleyCritters unfortunately Friesians have a very short life expectancy compared to most breeds. I’m not sure if this isn’t why he hasn’t considered it but they live for ~16 years when other breeds can live for 25-30. They are so beautiful, it’s unfortunate.
Matt is so right and so respectful about staying until the end of the horse show and applauding. What hard labors the horses and humans go thru to create these fantastic equine performances. I was amazed at how great Matt is in front of a camera. I know he's a model but I mean the whole thing. He was just so beautiful and calm and professional in such a natural way. You can so much see that in all aspects Matt was in his element here. It seemed like maybe Yesser was tagging along! Or maybe it was just because he wasnt on camera! And Matt did the press with such alomb. Matt's eyes are so exceptionally beautiful. He is a sultry cross between a young Elvis Presley, and a young Marlon Brando. Matt has such a unique look. The horses were incredibly beautiful and all their feats and artistry were incredible. You just can't believe such beauty. (P.S. I really hope that Yesser had a great birthday)
This was a well crafted video... horses, the event, Matt doing his thing with the press, music, horse show... who puts the videos together... the editing..the story line was well done.
This was so interesting to watch, thank you for sharing a perspective that most of us don’t have access to! Love the content, you’re doing a great job!
Happy Birthday 🎁🎉🎊🎂🎈 Jesse💖. Thank you Matte for allowing me to see things ( that I would most probably never see ) through yours and Jesses eyes Wonderful. Thanks for pointing out the good manners to stay and applaud Performers. Kindness as alwYs from you two 💞
@@cynp3564 It doesn't tho... "Boujee is hip-hop slang for something "luxurious in lifestyle yet humble in character," influenced by and often interchanged with the slang bougie." says dictionary
@@amasenak boujee or bougie us a contraction of bourgeoisie ... the aspirational materiality ( what you call luxury goods) used to show "status", the outward signifiers of having 'made it' among the middle class or bad taste ostentation with the nouveau riche ( new money) but also the conventional stolidness of how limited that materiality is (narrow-minded) Like hip-hop 'stars' who show they've made it with all their bling. It does not connote 'being humble' ... just the opposite ...
In all honesty I thought Matt was standing next to a lusitano or andilusian with the pearl gene, but it would be really amazing to see both Jesse and Matt riding one
Matt, thank you so much for sharing this with all of us. I can't thank you enough. Gosh, the horses were gorgeous and so very talented. You and Jesse looked great too. Thanks again, until next time please have a Happy Day!
"thats like 80.000 so its *a little bit* over the budget" Matt jesus christ buy me a horse too XDD (if i heard that right tho) Awesome video by the way ^-^
@AlwaysThere x3 Alrighty, sorry if I got on everyone's nerves by saying that I thought I heard 8,000 Also I obviously dont. I'm not the kind of person who would put intense research into how much a "rEaL sTaLLiOn" costs because of one RU-vid video. Buhbye ;)
Ahhh, this one was very funny. Matt, you do really losen up nowadays, good to see you not so uptigth. Lokking forward to see if there where any horseshopping. Your best comment ever: Jesse want this and that bla bla bla and all the comments from us, telling you to get him what he want. So you do redd them😘 But the best part was the suit situation, I can imagine you in Jesses pants too short on the leg, what a comedy😂 I came to Your channel for the horses, now I stay for comedy you and Jesse shows us. Thank you guys for making my day!!! BTW we want to know what Jesse got for birthday, we can not forget about that can we🤩
Happy Birthday, Jesse!!!! I hope Matt bought you the foal you liked back when you were shopping for Emporio, Also, very nice note at the end, Matt, about staying to the end of show or awards ceremony. You are so very considerate of others, and clearly your family brought you up with very good and kind manners. Btw, that Bay before the Blk was truly stunning. Was he really only 3???
Your channel is amazing!!! I’m currently going into jumping lessons and your videos help me out a lot (idk why but they do) I guess they just raise my self esteem!
Nice I've always wanted to jump but I'm definitely not ready at all. I've had a few lessons before, I've walked a few times and trotted once, but that was all on lead rein. Maybe in a few years.
@@ania519 ur never not ready! u just have to believe in yourself! if you would like a reference on where to go i would say traditional equestrian school its in the Burbank equestrian center and its is really amazing it is for all ages and they always have something new to teach you i am currently going there and i am STOKED! i would really recommend it if you have a budget under $300 you get 4 lessons for $250! (1 lesson every week) if you feel like jumping go for it !! i used to have the same mentality until i got the guts to ask my mom! you will develop a passion for everything you are doing if you really believe i, and if you have struggles with confidence your worries will fly out the window once you have believed that you are worthy enough to ride(you always will be if you have bad or good confidence) uh yeah! that is my opinion on that situation i hope you likes it!! (sorry tis was long)
xxCeceEquestrianxx Yeah, i just didn't mentionned them, i should probably have. I just found out about the ones without pikes today when after typing "nosebands with pikes" to double check the name i stumbled upon a website that sells both kinds... it's like a high end website for everything PRE tack related, wich would be great but they just sells these horrible things...
Trimmings not too bad my ex jousting mare has allergies in the summer she itches like crazy and pulls out her whiskers and there's quite alot of blood that comes with it! When they regrow they can often invert too creating sores so I have to clip them off
@@kittymalaw1734 However, there are reasons as to why my country and others have forbidden trimming by law. People often do it for sake of pure vanity, when horses have several highly sensitive nerve cells ending in follicles in the hairs. These hairs are a vital factor in feed intake and prevent contact with things they should not come in contact with out in the pasture. I just think it is cruel to take something like that away from a horse for vanity reasons.
@@lalelu1202 I know what whiskers are for... I'm just saying I trim my mares for health reasons it's not cruel if it stops her from harming herself which it does
The blood bay stallion was incredible! And the Spanish Riding School never fails to amaze me….how lucky you are to attend such events! Thank you for taking us along and clever resourcefulness on the suit issue!
PRE are absolut stunning horses. I bought mine for 8.000 € and friends said I would be crazy to spend so much money on just a horse. But it was worth it, absolutely amazing animal (and no; by that I don’t say cheaper horses are bad, I just say that it was a price I was willing to pay for my babyboy)
These are some beautiful horses! I can understand why you fell in love with the PRE breed, they are gorgeous and look so strong and proud! When they move it's like a dance. I wish you best of luck on your journey to find your new horse, but I'm also excited to see Emporio's development (and of course little Beer's, he's my favorite).
Spanish Horses are my Love! There is something special about them. Yes I totally agree have some respect and stay until the show is finished I think it is disrespectful when people leave early. I hope Jessie had a fantastic Birthday with you. Thank You for sharing.
What a distinguished event! The evening show looked awe-inspiring with such versatility and history. The PRE is truly a venerable breed of horse. I liked the black stallion as well! :o)
What a Crush! With apologies to Colridge... "people, people everywhere but not a horse to buy"... Wow. Happy Birthday Jesse! Matt, please, for the love of God, get a baby "something" for Jesse! At this point, even a kitten would do... although a puppy would be fun, too! Maybe, one of each?
Ahhh. Sigh! Only the Spanish can do this so well. That last dressage horse had such hind action I could not believe the energy in the half pass. He was leading it from behind! Greetings from Australia.
Ahhhhh!!!! Under saddle!!! Yay!!!! Happy Birthday Jesse!!!! Horse overload!!! 😂. You are so considerate of others!!! You should be proud of your manners!!! Many young people lack this today!!!
WOW Matt I'm so glad I came across your channel !! I would never be able to see such beautiful horses and go to the shows that you go to !! Thank you for sharing your love of horses with Utube !! And Happy Birthday Jesse 🎈🎉🎂 !! ☮️💜🐴
I'm way past riding now but enjoy Matt and Jesse's ability to go far and wide to find their perfect horses and seemingly without economic confines. I'm living vicariously through these two equestrians.
Me i did I also love you.. I have a horse called cuddles I just got him yesterday and he's not ready to ride but when I watched your videoe I did it again so this for your help love Chase good day
Ok I had to stop the video around 4:20. To leave this comment. I just realised how unreal out of this world beautiful Matt looks like. If you see Matt and Jesse walking around next to regular ppl you really can see this hudge difference. They both are next level attractive. Can't get over Matt's profile it's perfect. 👍😁
Wow I forget how young you two are. You're so mature for your age and have accomplish so much more than people your age today has. Best wishes to you both, your families, and your horses!
Happy birthday! Sicab!!!! wow, I went on Saturday and it was amazing but I saw the kur medio-advanced and I felt bad for them, a lot of the horses got spooked by the crowd - such a rowdy crowd. And balloons popping randomly in the fair. I then realized the PRE horses are so nice possibly cause they grow up in this rowdyness :) I also fell in love with a sweet palomino mare, who I cannot own but for a sweet moment I loved her!
This was super thank you Matt and Jesse ! Now I see why you love ❤️ this breed . I wish there was more footage of the Grand Prix dressage horses ! Wonderful💕 looking forward to more horse shopping videos ❤️
Yeah why do people leave before the award ceremonys? That's a thing I don't understand.. I love to see the riders be rewarded and see the lap of honours. ❤🦄
