After 3 months of using these wheels I can let you know if they're worth the $$$

I have these wheels also and I agree on most points. However the dual pour Mpc freestyle x firm 80mm is the best wheel I've ever tried. They're shredded down to 71mm presently and quite close to the softer inner core, so I don't use them much. I don't think they're as long lasting. as the junk but they feel so good on most things while being super fast and reboundy (is that a word?) However I can't find 80mm anywhere on the planet, so if anyone has a pair they wanna sell....

I'm skating on Hydrogens now and considering buying these MPCs, as I heard MPCs are feeling softer under the feet. Did you get the same feeling? At the store I noticed that these rebound from the desk much more quiet and softer than Hydrogens. By not looking at the X-Firm vs 85A parameters - could you confirm if you noticed such difference? Thank you.

Flat top profile could be from trimming operation after molding. Trimming removes flash (excess urethane) and results in a cleaner looking wheel.

So bottom line you can tell they're not worth twice the price of hydrogens....

I'm ashamed to admit I'm considering buying the very pricey Cosmic Solar 125s as art. I don't even roll anything >90 at the moment. I might just put them in a Trinity frame and hang them on the wall as aspirational motivation. 😂

I’m a decent skater but use a heel brake to save on wheel wear. After 350 miles on London roads my FR street invaders are down from 80mm to 79mm. If you are doing slides and T stops your wheels are going to wear way faster. Thanks for the review though!

I'm curious, is your heel brake really loud when stopping? (Esp downhill). I'm curious if this is a rollerblade issue or a heel brake issue cause my brakes make me sound like an 18 wheeler coming to a stop behind people on trails lol

I have $100 hydrogens and $30 swell wheels and they are exactly the same. The swells have 1mm of wobble to them but cost 3x less. Maybe the hydrogens will last longer and spin a little more smoother but it's not worth paying 300% more money

The extra $7 a wheel goes to FR because you didn't buy them from mpc directly

2-3 months?! You're spoiled there in the US with your nice roads. That amount of wear is like 8 slalom sessions on British roads with 86A undercovers 🤣 Took me 6 to shred the dual pour MPC freestyles that came with Igors into pieces

I use the mpc black magic 80 mm dual pour. I dont slide much so can not comment in that regards. However, the grip and speed are fantastic. They ride incredibly smooth compared to hydrogen or uc 80 mm wheels. The wear is not as good. They cost about $13 a wheel. I don't think they offer them any longer. Junk offers a dual pour voodoo 80 mm comparable to the black magic but a little harder and a bit longer lasting. They list for $13 per wheel as well. I also ride mpc dual pour 90, 100 and 110 mm wheels. They are addictive for urban/trail if you don't do a lot of sliding..they tend to be too sticky..perfect for fast skating on trails and rough surfaces. The mpc wheels cost about $22 per wheel.

They may be fast, but for street skateing I prefer the street invaders over any other. They are much more durable and you can do t-stops with them without them wearing down much. In addition to that the geometry of your wheels are not made for street skateing, much more for fittness skateing imo.

i just do slalom moves pushing on the heels to break the new wheels in after 15 minutes they are ok no more stick i think its the top layer that's sticks ,if its scratched you slide easier and the point of the wheel still has it and the wheels feel 3 mph faster
