The Open Championship started here at Prestwick Golf Club - where Old Tom Morris laid out the original 12 holes and cared for the course. He lived nearby, in what is now a Boots Pharmacy.
Episode 3: Ayrshire local Rachel McQueen joins up with Erik Anders Lang and the crew to play Prestwick Golf Club, the birthplace of The Open Championship. Prestwick's clubhouse serves as a museum for the early days of The Open and houses original scorecards, trophies, and history books.
The most famous 19th hole in golf also lives in the town of Prestwick: The Red Lion. It's the actual birthplace of The Open Championship - where the idea of finding the best golfer in all the land first came to mind. After a short walk down to the golf club, it was decided.

Some people don't enjoy golf, and I can't wrap my head around it. Just the interaction @8:24 and on is just one of the many reasons I fell in love with golf. You meet new people every time you play a round, the interactions are very pleasant, and we all share the love for golf. The stories people share, the friendships you'll make.. There is nothing in the world I enjoy more then golf, and I can say that with full confidence. It’s about 7/8 years ago now since I went to see David the pro at Prestwick.... I visited there 2 or 3 times and spent time on the practice ground....it completely blew me away, it is the most magical place and has the friendliest people you will ever meet..... I still have not played there but hope to one day. Another beautifully made film. Thank you, and again it makes you realise how lucky we are to be one big family playing this life changing game we call golf.

First off , fantastic video with great editing , loved you showed the utter respect towards this stunning Golf Course and it’s history. I’m from Manchester UK and I played Prestwick some 15 years ago and just felt privileged the whole way round , what an amazing place with incredible history. It’s something I will remember for the rest of my life and hope I get to go there again someday. Thanks for the reminder of my day there. 👍👍👍

Love this. I was working up at Prestwick Airport a few months ago. Played few courses there but not Prestwick. I read that it's really tight, didn't fancy losing 20 balls! There's a great icecream shop on the High Street near the Red Lion though!

I work in Prestwick once a week (Monday, must have just missed you :D) and drive past the Red Lion every week. Suddenly I want to play the course, damn you Erik, damn you. Incredible video!

Congrats, there were 3 commercial interruptions in my stream. Big Leagues! Rachel is the bomb, her "Fake News" comment on Colt's story on 14 was subtle, but "accurate". Her playing partner's Hudson Bay stripe golf towel is epic, must get one, being a Canuck myself, Colt in the sahara bunker doing snowman was fab. Liev Schriber btw is Young Old Tom Morris, tho he's a hockey fan, don't know if he can golf. Beauty.

I am seriously digging the Shinnecock jacket... Outstanding video as per usual. Excited to play some of these courses some day. I was laughing when you went into the pharmacy and asked if they knew what the building was- my girlfriend is in pharmacy school and I could only imagine a dude with a camera and an ensemble coming in and asking her if she knew the history of the building she works in
