I've heard that some people really hate this chapter with a passion. They didn't enjoy the DP limit mechanic, or the civilians. I personally found them the most fun to play with in a long time. It's more casual friendly, or easy to pick up/understand mechanically as compared to Chapter 10's painful cannon and slugs mechanics or the horde of enemies with crazy abilities/stats in Chapter 11. Last I remembered really having fun in a story chapter miiight be Chapter 9? So yes, might be going against crowd opinion, but Chapter 12 is a joy

i agree. it is really a pain not be able to use my penance and other 30+ dp quickly. but i think the challenge is just enough that it is fun. maybe kaltsit is overpowered in this chapter also 😅😅

the dp restriction was a good way for me to utilise lower rarity and lower dp operators more effectively and thus I agree quite much

While I hate this chapter with a passion especially due to the DP limit mechanic, it definitely gave me an actual challenge I have to plan rather then simply brute strength. On the bright side, I love how sanity is not use on the first attempt. Only my IRL Sanity is lost.

i guess majority of people hated it because they can't flag-pipe and instantly deploy their mudrock penance skalter and casters++. I personally enjoy it, it makes lower rarity ops more valuable and other archetypes that has lower DP costs shine in this event.

same for me too!! that s3 range is soo good not to mention we can place her traps anywhere. by the time the civilians reach my ground blockers, most of the sus ones are known already

Honestly, the DP limit is a pretty good balancing mechanic imo. It practically forces players to use low stars if they need high block units with cheap DP costs, while also preventing players from just bursting the stage with DP using flagpipe and in turn, being able to use costly 5 or 6 stars really often

Yeah, I thought it was fun. You don't even have to use low stars either: Mountain, Blue Woman and her dragons (with module), Saga, Thorns, Qiubai, Gladiia, Specter the Unhinged, Kal'tsit, Silver Ash etc. will hold the early lines just fine (and in Ling's case, solo the level) until you get +2 DP limit for the typical defenders and 3 blocks (Specter, Saria, Blemi, Nearl etc.). And given it's her chapter, Ines also destroys a lot of enemies in this one - especially the flying shuriken spawners.

You can still burst the stage with DP, you just can't deploy anything with a cost higher than 20 at the start of stage. It doesn't do a good job at changing that, at best it locks people of using most of 6 stars early on since almost anything is 20+, but you still have things like Mountain, Ling, Spalter, Kal'tsit and so on, so idk, felt just incovenient to me.

Chapter 12 Imo one of the best chapters Easy to understand mechanic with an interesting twist on enemies and civilians As well limiting usage of high powered ops like Penance and Blaze

This chapter was so much fun ! The Dp restriction made the team building more interessting. The civilian were a great source of fun, I was like "Evacuate the civilian ! don't let the ennemies pass through !". And usualy reading make me bored, but idk, this chapter really hooked me ! I love the story and I'm hyped for chapter 13 !

Ngl I made good use of Totter and Vigil in this chapter. It was pretty fun in the latter half, I enjoyed the chaos of juggling DP and trying to reveal the sussy NPCs.

Chapter 12 has some very interesting mechanics. H12-3 and -4 however, were very painful. Hopefully it wont take me longer than it took me to defeat the H10 stages lol

@@cat-vv9xb I loved this chapter just because it got me using OG Noir/Yato, and really made me think before deploying heavies because redeploys can often go above the DP ceiling.

@@eighty8854 Vigil's wolf is pretty squishy too, even at max investment. If you want a cheap 3 block that tanks better than Noir Corne, use Cardigan.

Ch. 12 is such a wild ride. And given a diverse roster, the enemies are not exactly HP sponge except for the floating dishpenser statues dishing out dishplates and the 3-block bullysarkaz.

I love this chapter so much (although not as much as chapter 10, londinium cannon supremacy) and I don't understand all the flack that this chapter gets, I love the imposter + dp limit mechanics

My favorite part of this event is that made me actually think and ot wasn't just an statcheck, I mean, I DID brute force my way for most stages, but used some operators I usually don't use, like Gnosis for his weird attack range

The under 20 dp 3 block gang really pulled through for me this chapter, my only sad is Ive been having fun with Fia and Penance lately and theyre just so hard to get to this chap. Still overall Im having fun

I loved this chapter a lot. I completely circumvented the DP limit mechanic because only one unit in my squad was above 20 DP, and since my general strategy is "stack up blockers and healers" i didn't notice civilians until later stages either. The boss was also very cool. After the suffering that is chapter 10 this was very enjoyable and fun.

Honestly the biggest problem I have with this chapter is the sudden flying enemies after so many stages with only melee enemies. It's so frustrating when combined with all the other mechanics, but i managed to pull through and had some fun with this chapter everything else considered.

After seeing Kukki read the description for the boss, i am utterly amazed that I beat this stage on my second or third try without knowing his mechanics at all (granted on standard difficulty). My first try/tries only failed because I had a bad setup and leaked some enemies early on

Possibly my favorite Main Story chapter, like, out of all of them. Maybe 5 competes? Not sure. Thought I would hate it at the beginning because I'm used to dealing with block issue with incredible violence which doesn't really work with the spy mechanic, but I got into a flow around 12-7. Also got a lot of use out of Heidi and comboing her with Humus which makes me very happy as well.

Recommended operators for the flying enemies: April (Stealth S2 is great) Pozymka (her typewriter shreds them and her S3 does loads of damage) Gravel (emergency aggro magnet) Laurentina (because her Dollkeeper powers let her tank some hits) Mlynar (Uncle draws aggro and his S3 shreds them, just give him medic backup) Shirayuki, W, Jieyuan, Meteorite, Fiametta (arty snipers can pick off the adds from a distance and attack from out of reach.)

Im okay with this chapter too, the mechanics are manageable depending your roster cost. Going less than 20 dp cost opens a restricted early roster which even 3-4* are good, like Cuora with mod x)

I loved your summary of gaming experience on episode 12. ^^ I had fun, though the DP limits on several stages in the beginning ...meh. When the blocks were introduced, it was much better then. I fear for when the drone and spy and "the let the spy walk by" in annihilation and combined with other mechanics! o.o

I was fine with the scanning and DP-locked mechanics, it was interesting way to force players to try different styles of play, what I didn't like was when they introduced enemies that steal your DP on the already DP-scarce stages, that sucks complete dick to deal with. Also FUCK H12-4! I'VE TRIED FOR 5 TOTAL HOURS TO DO THIS FUCKING STAGE BUT I DON'T HAVE A FULLY BUILT SARIA AND NONE OF THE PEOPLE ON MY FRIENDS LIST HAS HER FULLY BUILT AND EVERY SINGLE GUIDE USES A FULLY BUILT SARIA AND I CAN'T FIND A SINGLE THING THAT CAN REPLACE HER OR EXTRA THINGS TO SUPPORT HER AND KEEP EVERYONE ALIVE WHEN WHEN THE BOSS DECIDES TO HIT THE "FUCK YOU" BUTTON!

E2 Lvl 90 Saria user here, what skill do you need her on? Also, I'm assuming you're talking about the water drones the boss spawns on all your operators in second phase. If you are, best way to deal with that attack is to checkerboard/place all your ops diagonal to each other, which keeps your ranged ops from getting one-shot by all the AOE arts dmg.

(I'm not finished with the chapter yet my opinion might change) I don't like the DP limit because I love using big powerful 32 dp cost units like Passenger and by the time I can deploy them on these stages the fights are practically over. OTHERWISE, they're pretty fun! Cool chapter, featuring a return of one of my fave characters, Nonbinary Slime

I started realize yato s2 and s3 animation bypass all cc when im against the knight boss in IS3 and got the freeze rejection on yato, attack the boss and she started froze after both skill animations ends

My friend: Hey, new chapter just came out! Me: Hmm I might try out some nicheknight playstyle this time. My friend: Which niche? Me: Blemishine isn't in shop yet... maybe I'll try one-op relay first. My friend: You what? Me: I don't see any problem here. * Does the tutorial * Me: Oh right I forgot that was this chapter's mechanic. I ended up doing like the first three or four stages anyways lol by exploiting robots. SilverAsh also saved me. The 3-block guys ended it though. Literally no way to defend two lanes at once when both requires scanning of more than 1 enemy spy.

My big problem is that you're locked out of so many options with this mechanic it's kind of frustrating. Plus you're forced to use so much block count in this event, it's easy to get distracted and oopsy a civilian passed through The damazti fight also drawn on for so freaking long lol, we fight her in 4 stages including 3 hell stages and she has a morbillion phases, like dude i want to hit you with my sword stop going invulnerable and spawning more people for me to block 😂

Loved chapter 12, but it did suck that the more expensive 30+ DP operators were just shafted entirely. The normal stages were a lot easier compared to previous chapters, but the extra ones with the buffed boss were probably some of the most challenging in the whole game.

so I do think that the civilians not being effected my slows is stupid I get why due to wording it is just annoying at times. However this is the best themed event in a while. the whole theme is that you are behind enemy lines and you are low on resources the civilians make it so you don't know who to trust and the low DP mechanic along with the DP steal from the archers make it really cohesive I actually felt like I was playing in the situation that the characters were in by how the mechanics felt. basically most enemies interact with the mechanics as well you have the spys that make it so you do have to check every civilian the boss is a civilian as well one of the mobs making it so you can't block civilians making him an auto threat in a unique way. the drones are super weird and IG the only blockable by 3 block is also super weird but they are also just stat sticks you have to deal with and you do need some mobs to just be guys with big HP pools and do damage. this was the first time since twilight of wolumonde that I think that all of the mobs had a "goal" and they were interacting with the map in that event it was the towers. maybe sultifarinavis with the creep also is a thing. makes me want to make a vid on why exactly the mob design was so great in some events while others aren't so great.

Yea, that huge scanning range+145% atk vs ranged units(the worst enemy of the chapter, those snipers eating dp)+S1 invisibilty means that the sniper eating DP cant do it.

I enjoyed the DP limit. It discourages rarity abuse. On the other hand, I really hate the "block this unit for X years to reveal intention" mechanic. Should have revealed on contact

Doesn't really discourage it, it just diverts your attention to the proper low DP 6* like Mountain, Gladiia, Specter, Kaltsit etc. Even more so in nightmare stages where the use of meta units makes too massive of a difference. One thing it did do though was render pioneer vanguards very useful again.

The boss for this chapter is unacceptable. How many invulnerable phases do we need to sit thru before his jank RNG wipes squad mates? Dragging it out longer than annihilation with his s. You got your block 3 demolishers fine you got your crownslayer in a top hat. Fine. You got the -9 dp ammo dudes. Who are a bad idea. I would have to ask what they were Trying to do with this because they failed. You got the lets be annoying cant block civs dont make no sense but ok from gameplay. Its manageable. Then you got these 42000 hp carrier drones. Which probably would be fine if the -9 dp abominations didnt exist. And then we got the boss. Who has about 5 more invulnerable periods than is acceptable.

As a CN player Chap 12 and 13 is a breath of fresh air i loved the mechanics so much and the difficulty spike on the H stages and such and i handicapped myself by not using a single translator on the game which forces me to restart and restart the stage to understand the mechanics overall Chap 12 = Chap 10 = Chap 13
