I finally got my nose on Portrait of a Lady, it’s amazing. As a masculine man, I can pull that off wonderfully. My skin pulls the incense amazingly, almost reminds me of Kilian Incense Oud.

I've tried most of these fragrances! I didn't like them much. So I would never really care about groundbreaking fragrances. This is an awesome video for people interested.

Nailed all of these Joao. Personally, the original Gucci Pour Homme was a game changer for me. Chergui, LNDL, LIDGE, Timbuktu, Dior Homme, TdH, Pure Malt, Angelique Noire and sooo many from 2007 - all fame worthy in my book. And that's only 2 decades ago. 😆 What a downhill ride it's been since then!

And I completely agree with you, it's been a long time since we last saw a groundbreaking release in the designer side and even in the niche market, for every 1000 releases, only one might be worth mentioning

My personal all time favorite is Jubilation XXV. I want to try Alexander II sometime but I must confess when I read one wearer's experience (he compared the opening to wearing a dirty diaper) I kind of put the brakes on it, although he was willing to admit (if I remember correctly) it could have been a bad batch. Still I have heard enough good from others. I'm also interested in Ganymede but have heard a common about that rubbery smell, which I am no fan of. No idea how true that is but I did find that same rubbery description about Rosendo Mateu No 5 which persisted and caused me disappointment. I will have to try it again in a while and see if it is the same. Maybe it is just how it reacts to my skin.

TF Tuscan Leather deserve at spot in the Hall of Fame. It basically started the smoky luxurious smooth leather trend. Every leather fragrance since bears some TL resemblance. Tom Ford private blend line itself also need a mention. Every luxury brand and their 5 years old has a private bkend nowaday

Excellent list Joao. Have you tried Bois Imperial yet? I love Ganymede but for my nose, Bois Imperial beats it. Same DNA but more versatile and dare I say 'better' 😳
