An original documentary about how Kevin Durant became one of the most hated players in the NBA...in just one summer.
I love a good villain. They're always my favorite part of most movies. They add depth to the story and they raise the stakes for the hero. After LeBron James returned to Cleveland from Miami, the NBA was left without a true villain to root against for a couple seasons. It wasn't until Kevin Durant's free agency decision to join the 73 win Golden State Warriors in 2016, that we finally got the ultimate "bad guy". However, this project isn't a 25 minute hate fest on KD. It tells the story of how he accepted the role and became one of the most dominant players the game of basketball has ever seen. I hope you enjoy!

He didnt do anything tons of players before him have done, the only difference being he and the warriors dominated the league for a few years together. Ray Allen did this exact thing with the Heat. The celtics lose to bron in 2012 and ray allen joins them and they win a chip in 2013. Why doesnt ray allen get shade for that?

I had been searching for a video like this because for the life of me i dont get the KD hate after all this time. I found that the hate was driven by media narratives (specifically Stephen A Smith trashing him) is when EVERYBODY turned on him. Because the media (including Stephen A) really wanted Lebron to win more, but KD AND the rest of the Warriors ruined that.

I’ll always be a KD fan. His skill set is so remarkable. Perhaps the most skilled player ever when combined with his size. People are mad because he took the LeBron strategy and went to the best possible situation and proceeded to dominate their favorite players and teams.

KD isn’t a villain. He’s getting a bad rap because Curry had a big playoff run and KD got rocked in round 1. Though this is a year old and missed the playoff Drama, if that 3 counts and he wins 2021 Championship for Brooklyn… he’s considered a legend of the game. Instead, called a 2, next year Curry and Warriors win and the media rains down on KD. Combine with his awkward social media presence… I don’t disagree with your conclusion. However, Epic production and video dude. You have a big future in the sports bio space.

Steph loves KD no matter what happen. They've accomplished a lot together. They won multiple championship together, they respect each other, so it's safe to say "they are brothers". Steph loves KD and as well as KD loves steph. They don't have any beefs, in fact only fans does for entertainment, but in reality. There's indeed no drama to both of them, just love and respect, so for me. I like KD and i look up to him and give him the respect he deserve because the guy is really unkillable in NBA. He's a villain and Steph Curry is the good man in a movie like steph is the only person who can understand the villain [KD]. i think that is how i'm gonna see it. 😊

22:41 what’s so crazy is his time in Brooklyn people loved and was behind it. Well at least the people who claim to like basketball. Brooklyn was him trying to win on his own terms with his friends and that’s cool but his friends let him down big time because he went out and played while the others were either to scared to play. Or to busy in the media or trouble to play or to worried about their next move to follow a certain General Manager. So at this point when you are the only Star player that’s focused on just basketball and winning chips you would leave too

He’s not a villain to people who truly understand the sport of basketball. The “hated” narrative comes from the perspective of some of today’s over emotional fans who’re easily influenced by sports talk media talking points. When are people going to wake up & realize that shows like First Take & Undisputed were designed to create drama for ratings? Sports takes aren’t necessarily based in reality, …more like $$$. It’s actually disappointing to see things heading in this direction. RU-vid is just an extension of everything. Content creators have a tendency to over personalize their fandom. The intention behind this video has more to do with feelings than the actual game. Players attitudes, around the league, are a much better source of gauging how a competitor should be viewed.

I really really hope you watched this whole project before commenting... because if you did, you would know this video was not anti-Durant in any way. He may have been the most hated player in the league, but I took his story and showed why he made the decision he did and how he accomplished what he set out to do, regardless of what people think. He gave people someone to cheer against and the game was better off for it. KD has all of my respect and is one of my favorite players! It's disappointing to me to see you jump to conclusions without fully understanding the purpose behind something. @@TriceOfficial I love Kevin Durant and have always rooted for him to win since I’m basically a Lebron hater but it was a weak move by KD. You don’t go to the team that just humiliated you and comes back from a 3-1 deficit. The team that won 73 games with a unanimous MVP and you joined them. In my eyes only the rockets and the Cavs could match them and I thought the rockets had everything to win but CP3 had to get injured and the rockets had to break a record of 27 straight 3 pt misses in order for them to lose. That was their year and they blew it. And then Cavs proved they really didn’t have what it takes to beat an overpowered warriors. No one was really beating the warriors. There was no competition and to this day I don’t know how the league could allow that sign by KD and Lebron joining Miami but veto CP3 to the lakers in 2012 🤷🏽‍♂️

I’m a KD fan through and though and most people don’t understand the move to GSW. It started with OKC not paying James harden. And then letting Serge Go. They didn’t keep the team together and they allowed Westbrook to come down court and not even pass the ball but jack up 3s. See this is why watching basketball is important because the media won’t say or speak on these things. Yeah he went to GS of all places but I mean the lost in the finals to Lebron. You either gonna go play with Lebron or play with the team that just lost to Lebron. And like he said he felt like he fit in with GS and as you can see he did. It’s not like the warriors carried him no if you watched those games in that first championship game it’s KD Everyone played like shit if it wasn’t for KD or Steph they would have lost badly and Steph wasn’t shooting his best he still wasn’t shooting like Steph does. The second ring with KD was more of a slaughter. I blame the media because they spoke so bad on him but didn’t speak like this when Lebron joined the heat they know exactly what they were doing.
