I went to chillingham before i knew it was haunted and hated every second of it. The feeling of the building for me was over whelming but the dungeon area with all the torture equipment made me feel physically sick and i had to walk out
Myself & my husband have been to the castle many times, we love it!! We've both experienced things there & also have some fantastic photos that can not be explained, we've also shown them to paranormal investigators who confirmed what we thought! My husband at the start was a skeptic, but Chillingham made him a 100% believer!! I would recommend anyone if you get the chance go visit & also try the drive across the moors in the dark!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting to note they used a very different style in this episode compared to the rest of series and the rest of Most Haunted. They must have been finding their feet when taping this. You see Yvette walked around the castle with the owner giving the history, that was dumped later in series one to just Yvette on her own walking around. Also the episode is very driven around Derek, asking a lot of questions, whereas later it would not be so centre on Derek, slightly different style for their second episode.
the show should have centred mostly on Derek, he was way more entertaining than watching Yvette and her dumb crew just walking around in the dark bumping into things and screaming
I went to chillingham castle last week it took us 4 hours to get there (not including the stops) and it was an awesome time I highly recommend it although its not that scary as you think.
Sort of, we kept hearing creepy noises and creaking coming from the top floor. It was in the room with all the books, there is also a very creepy torture chamber there!
Derek may have been proven a fake, however I don't believe everything he states he has been previously told of before this filming. His emotion and expression change sometimes in a way that just purely can't be acted out.
I visited Chillingham Castle recently and the Most Haunted investigation has improved my knowledge of this rather sinister place. No way I could stay the night in the rooms I visited. I lived in a haunted property when I was young and saw some weird things so I know from experience it can happen.
Why all the leather hate.... back when this was filmed, leather was the current style "rage". A lot of folks wore leathers, singers, athletes, ect.... when it's in style, wear it on tv.... besides, their clothes having nothing to do with it really.
Visited the castle many years ago, and although I was told I'd find it scary that emotion never materialised... I did find the outer facade of the building was somewhat foreboding & uninviting, but I didn't find the place scary on the inside, although on entering one room I did experience the feeling as if someone or something pinched my nose, and held a hand over my mouth in an attempt to stop me breathing... It wasn't a good experience of course, but it was mere seconds as I backed out immediately and it's not as if I hadn't experienced similar in other places before..... A very interesting and somewhat haunting place, would be my description of Chillingham Castle..

i have sleptp over at Chillingham castle twice on 2 night investigations and am about to go for the 3rd time. I am a sceptic but last time i saw something that unsettled me hence my return visit.
Did I hear the weeping boy as they were heading for Lady Mary's room!? Wow........😮 26:02. Also, when Karl was down in the storage room where the box moved, there is of course the possibility that Karl knocked it himself, but even so, even a human couldn't move it as far as it did move. If something just went zrrrrt, and moved say five cm, I would definitely want to know what moved it. I hope that it didn't scare Karl too much.... when derek was talking about the boy in the wall startling a lady was sleeping in the bed, I heard a "no"..... I don't care if you don't believe Derek was 4 real, put headphones on, and listen at .5 or even slower, in my case, 0.75 of a speed. You will hear the sounds that could have been possibly the crew, but when they are talking about a high pitched cry that wasn't any one of them, and yes, there's always the possibility it could have been an animal, but it certainly was something. That torture chamber was interesting to me. It wasn't really the torture chamber.
I stayed in the Grey apartments with a couple of friends. the first time i experienced just creaks bangs and knocks but it was really windy. I laughed about it all and my friends thought i pretty was disrespectful i think. The last time i visited i was playing the fool a bit. Stayed in the same apartments. i slept in the blue boy bedroom in the 4 poster bed. On the last night one of the group said they saw lots of blue lights and orbs darting around the room. I thought it was a windup
Until I saw the same thing. Now i am a very skeptical person or i was. The room went icy cold and i got a feeling of static electricity. As well as this the door knob started to rattle. the light show went on for about a minute and a large blue orb came towards me and speed. I darted into the 4 poster bed! I didn't sleep that last night. I am going back at the end of this month with a video camera in hand. Although we did get a couple of light anomalies nothing to show how scarey it was.
I have really been unsettled by it and that is why i am going back for a 3rd time. This time i will be prepared and not laughing! I promise anyone who stays over in this castle that they will experience the atmosphere, but take a coat its always freezing! As for most haunted i think it started with good intentions but ended up in trickery. Derek Acorah was such a turning point and destroyed any credibility they might have once had
Decca is great and maybe false but you got to admit he was one good showman and made MH what it is today love the MH with him in it the rest of the physics are boring.
Really? Wow. What did you see? The trouble with shows with Derek is you are just waiting for him to become possessed. The crew must have been a nervous wreck.
Derek Acorah was a fraud, right? I think I've seen him in some newer episodes so I'm confused.. Maybe it wasn't a new episode. I think it was the episode where they go to Kinnitty Castle, Ireland.
For people who are trying to find evidence for ghosts they are scared so easily. Maybe they should think of getting a new job. I can imagine it can get scary, but it's so amateur like to run away like they do
Haven't they even got a camera assistant to help get the steady-cam rig off him? Talk about low budgets to maximise profits, that'll be Yvette Fielding then!
How strange! The entire crew is looking for weird things going to happen...and the ladies scream and shout so loudly...I think they will be frightening the ghosts, phantoms or even quite spirits..poor them..!!! a little bit of self control guys..
Honestly!! I think Derek has read the ghost history of this castle before making his visit.. I think this guy spoils the show, just let the detectives get on with it without Derek's theatrics. Derek has been proven to be a fake!
