He after the dog viciously bites and shakes his arm: “oh he’s just some kind if poohpup” You gotta love this man. The amount of love he has for these dogs are just something else.
@@ohiasdxfcghbljokasdjhnfvaw4ehrthese dogs are not killing people 😂 they’re actually preventing it. send a dog, you don’t have a to send a bullet. grow up, little girl.
@@ohiasdxfcghbljokasdjhnfvaw4ehr Hes training them to follow orders, ive seen videos of incompetently trained K9s where theyre completely out of control.
He doesn't need confidence when he has extremely well trained dogs that listen to all his commands. They will never act out without his command. It's not confidence, its pure trust in his partner.
@@eduardocerna193 when it comes to protection dogs its not about the bite force, it's about their ability use their instincts and training to attack appropriately with a grip not letting go until told to do so. mals having their drive helps with that focus and intent.
I have a 125lb malamute/husky mix, and he is so freaking strong its crazy. Sometimes when we are playing, like rope tug especially, i honestly think my arm is going to tear out its socket
@lj0727 I believe it. I had a black lab who was about 70 pounds and she was about all I could handle. At 250 pounds. She had pulled me and others right off our feet several times.
@@BetweenLightAndDarkness “Packen” or pack for short is the German dog training command for bite/attack. More literally, it means “grab onto (with teeth),” I believe.
@@BetweenLightAndDarkness Lol. You’re parsing the sentence a bit much, aren’t you? It’s the standard dog training command spoken in the German language. There are charts that have the commands side-by-side in different languages for reference. I’m well aware that you can use words of different languages, nonsense words, or even sounds-as evidenced by this trainer who uses a mixture of French and German commands along with the sounds. I find it disappointing that you felt the need to criticize my lighthearted comment just because I spelled “pack” as “puck.” I hope at least you feel better about yourself now.
The command is "Aus" which is German for "out". There is a VERY good reason they train these kinds of dogs in German. They do the same with German Shepherds. No pun intended. it is for safety more than anything. Safety of the Police Officer and also safety for random members of the public. The dog is trained to a VERY elite level in thos kinds of jobs, and will usually respond on cue to commands. The officer can't run the risk of the dog responding to something someone says by accident or even on purpose. An example would be if the dog was clinging to a suspect, and they shouted "off" in desperation or something. The dog's training could then kick in and respond to the false command. The same principle would apply if the dog heard a random passerby shout something in English and just respond in a way not intended. Chances cannot be taken with these kinda dogs. I have grown up with German Shepherds all my life and I have a DEEP respect for what they can do as I've seen it with my own eyes. I play fight with mine all the time and they love it. But they know when to switch off and and the most adorable dogs in the world.
(1) Where do I purchase a Belgian Sleeve (2) Do you have male pups for sale? The pup will be trained by The Cook County Sheriffs Dept Trainers. And have job working part time for Local Police Depts as a Drug & Search dog, I am a Sergeant for The Cook County Sheriffs Dept, the dog will be mine.
@@cuffem2 Do you have experience training and handling canines? Also, I don't intend this to be an insult but the grammar and punctuation in your comment is very suspect. Might I suggest re-writing it to be more coherent. Last, who is your comment directed towards? I ask because you posted a reply to an existing comment, not a comment that would be directly to this Modern Malinois' channel.
I love the level of passion you and your dogs have for each other and for what you do. Watching your videos always make my day brighter, sir. Thank you.
LOL, I love how he got so excited as soon as he HEARD you catch it! Alrick’s got some crazy drive in him, but he’s just some kinda poohpup at the end of the day huh? ❤ Love what you do and I hope to see some mini-Alricks someday!!
He is LASER focused as soon as he sees that sleeve go on your arm. All he's thinking is, "He's going to try me again??? When will he learn" 🤔🤔🤔 OH well, that's why I'm the Poohpup"!!!!!
@@RealHumanBot that's true , the same for Dutch since they both have simple short words with strong pronunciation. English as well, I assume the same for other Germanic languages
I enjoy watching this channel because he's just so well suited for this work. My shoulders and other joints dislocate easily, and I bruise easily. I'm well suited for *other* kinds of work 😅
Being a serious dog and all, I think PoohPup would be insulted that all of these people think he's 'cute" but Darn It! Those excited little scoots make my heart happy! 😂❤😂
You can tell he knows what it's for and understands the difference between being allowed to protect his human and his human teaching him how to protect.😊
As a relatively petite person, I’d like a whole suit of this. I had my wrist broken when I was in school because they used cheap equipment that was far too big for me. ☹️
@@Johan-mp2urI’m going back next month and I’m already loathing the injuries but such is life. It’s my last step for master. I’m 5’2 and about 120 on a thick weight. So it’s really a lot of fun. It’s like putting a pencil inside of an empty paper towel roll. 😂 I’m not saying they’re, uh, size-ists, but it sucks. Once I’m done throwing my savings at continued education, I’m getting myself some custom fitted things. 😊
@@itslocro if you can find an old diving suit, cut of the sleeves and put them on before you wear the bite-sleeve , or wraps they use on horses legs..., litlle tricks, but it helps lol
@@Johan-mp2urThought I’d come back and update this now that I had some improvements overnight. I was injured, again. This time impacting my nerve and causing me to lose use of my arm and hand from the elbow down with an added wrist drop. Hell yeah. 😭 My mental health took an immediate nose dive as I thought my life was over. I couldn’t even put my hair in a ponytail, still can’t. But today I moved my wrist ever so slightly so I think that’s a sign to stop crying. I tried the horse wrap. Thankfully my brother is an idiot who rides bulls for sport and got me some from the farm he works on. I didn’t notice much of a difference except with sliding and I had to negotiate to use it. I don’t want to expose the school because they have some great trainers but it’s sad they’re not even open to making changes to decrease risk of injury. I guess I expected there to be more pint sized master trainers that would’ve brought this up. Not to drag their German shepherd but I really shouldn’t get hurt by one. 😂 Especially not this one but he PULLS and can’t push. Once I’m done I’m going to leave a review on their page. But I’m staying quiet until then. They’re also charging me an extra $2,500 since I was injured and can’t attend with one arm. 💀😂 Shameful.
@@itslocro 2500e dollars for what? Training to be a decoy? Nuts! Overhere in the nvbk if you are interested you get training in the club , without extra costs.

It breaks my heart knowing ill never be able to own one of these beautiful animals…. Ide never be able to give it the life/time/training it deserves… I love seeing everything you post about them!
