Watched a lot of these and finally someone who put it together lol everyone else was blaming the cops for an accident. It wasn't mandatory at the time like it is now to seek medical attention for everyone, especially when they weren't complaining about being injured. This was just a very rare incident that will never happen again since they changed all of that. Everyone who watched this ALL thought the same exact thing the cops did. IF he did kill her, no one would care that he didn't get medical attention. It was a .22, which makes a very tiny hole, which is why it was almost impossible to see. Would've happened to anyone that came across this situation. Usually someone who's shot in the face / head would be saying that right away. Just a very very rare incident, it was no ones fault besides Richie & Larry's The "irreversible damage" was already done the second the trigger was pulled. Even if they found him hour one, they would've still had to remove the same parts of his brain that the bullet and skull fragments damaged. Yes, exactly, they didn't know or they would've gave him medical attention. The second he noticed it he called 911, it's not like they did it on purpose. All these people complaining would've done the same exact thing the cops did.
Thank you! My thoughts exactly. This was almost 20 years ago, a lot of current practices weren’t in place back then. No one would be saying the cops were wrong if he was actually guilty either (as the cops thought he was), people are hypocritical
"I am monsters" did an in depth investigation on this and it contradicts most of what you said lexy. There's even news clippings on this which put this specific department into question a long with other cases they have come into question about.
@@jorgeillueca5260 Yeah, democrats making up shit like they always do lol And the family couldn't sue because there wasn't a law in 2006 to mandate medical attention. And it doesn't matter, if you're shot in the face 99.99% of the time you're going to say that right away. It was just a very rare incident. It's not like they did it on purpose. He called 911 the second he noticed it. It's over and done with and hasn't happened since. Again, if he killed her, no one would care if he got medical attention or not and there wouldn't even be a video about this. Peace
I actually got teary eyed, honestly with a bruise that bad it is more than strange that no one thought to send him to a emergency room first, literally killers that have gotten shot or sustained broken arms/cuts get sent to emergency rooms even after people have seen them commit a crime… this really was just difficult to stomach and it’s truly sad that in 1 moment someone undeserving can just have their whole lives flipped and ruined
Bro, I was in tears from this story when I first watch the Mr Ballen video. I couldn't help but think that if only the police had first paid attention to the wounds on his face and gotten him to an emergency room within appropriate time, he'd probably still be alive today.
As a police officer/ detective your job is to investigate. First and foremost he was to receive medical attention even if it didn't look bad. So they do get blame
Btw this video only scratches the surface. You also need to know that the cops slammed onto his face and they broke his jaw by hitting him and roughing him up thinking he killed her. Its not mentioned in this video but it is mentioned in the full story “JUSTICE FOR RYAN WALLER”. Its in the written statements by police bc they wrote them before they realized he wasnt a killer. They threatened his dad that day as well. Afterward they threatened the mom and dad so they wouldnt sue. Its all documented.
Great suggestion. The we are Monsters channel’s story with Ryan’s tells the whole story by RyN’s dad. The interview gives the correct information. It certainly wasn’t Mr Ballen fault he had some misinformation because those were the facts the media were putting out.
This was a CLEAR 8th Amendment violation. I understand why the parents didn’t sue, but they would’ve won, and those officers should have had consequences for breaking his constitutional right to adequate medical treatment. Regardless of his guilt or innocence, the police had the responsibility to have him checked out given his obvious injuries and behavior. Especially since his impairments and eventual death could possibly have been prevented if he had received medical treatment right away. It’s ridiculous that there was no disciplinary action against the officers.
I can’t believe he even had the ability to walk around and talk for that long with bullet wounds in his face and one lodged in his brain the human body is actually mind blowing 😅 those cops were negligent how do you not see bullet holes on a persons face 👀
It is.. they went against protocol. Even killers get medical attention after a situation. They get snacks etc. The whole police station just did a garbage job.
This one was sad. I watched bits of the long interrogation, and I didn't believe him as well, but for police not to give him treatment to check on the severity of his injury was crazy to me since it's uncommon they don't that.
It's obvious that he had brain damage during that whole investigation I'm like he has brain damage within the first minute of it cuz clearly his cognitive skills were just demolished
That welfare check was for the both of them not just heather if they would of honored it instead of jumping to conclusions then Ryan could of gotten the help he needed a lot sooner. A lot of people are split down the middle though.
Regardless if he did kill her or not immediate medical care is a constitutional right . These police officers killed an innocent man off pure bias. They played judge, jury, & executioner. Real tragic
They beat his ass really bad. They even wrote a statement before knowing he wasnt the killer so they even have it on record that they beat his ass but they threatened ryans mom and dad w a lawsuit. So they couldnt get anything done about their son being basically killed by police. Had they not threw him down on his face, punched him in the mouth and broke his jaw, he might not have had such severe bleeding in the brain. Sure, hed had have damage but we will never know how much bc of the damage officers packed ontop.
There was absolutely NO reason to have him sitting for SIX fucking hours. As a matter of fact they should've had him taken to the hospital immediately because they could've handcuffed him to the bed if they were so concerned which OBVIOUSLY they WEREN'T. I understand why his parents didn't sue but at the same time, the police were NEGLIGENT and NO ONE was fired for that. So they DESERVED to be sued. This is so fucked up. But karma has a way of making itself known even if we don't know what that karma is.
He literally told them that he was shot in his head, are they dumb, with his facial injuries, they have a duty to care for people In custody, they can't walk out of the police station and get medical help for themselves to and they are supposed to be trained professionals, poor kid was let down, he did nothing wrong
Doesn't matter, u send the suspect to the hospital first, if u see any injuries. Don't matter how many dead bodies are around. Many departments have been sued behind not following that
not true in this case. since they discovered the corpse to be days old, they would lead to believe that his black eye was also days old. I’m assuming they didn’t see the bullet holes somehow because of either the corpse on the couch or the distracting black eye he had, but if they find out a bruise is multiple days old and the person is seems physically fit and is walking and talking without issue, they are not required to bring said suspect to the hospital. Any lawsuit arguing such would never hold up in the court of law.
Logically if you even think about it, ryan was the only person at the scene if crime. It's impertinent that he's of sound body and mind so we can figure out the truth and give the girl the justice she deserved, cos he was the only person there upon arrest.
And theyre just light hearted silly jokes to get a smile out of ppl lol. I think he does his “hit the like button” better than anybody on youtube. Thats original AF lol.
Even if he killed her Your innocent until proven guilty and gun shot wounds to your face Four of them!!!!! Everyone deserves medical treatment then a fair trial How the Hell did no one notice four shots to the face
Yea I mean it seems like an open and shut case but I thought they’re supposed to give them medical attention even if it’s a criminal. I wouldn’t of guessed bullets but at least they should of considered a concussion or something else that got him acting like that
@@sliverofthemoon3165dude this is not an unknown story those fools broke his jaw before he even got into the station there are multiple documentaries on this case
I do not like this video because a lot of information came out that invalidated this whole version of the story. I did a research paper on this case for my Famous Crimes and Trials class a few months ago. About a month after he dropped this video, the truth came out about this case. The channel this is MONSTERS released a documentary giving the actual facts on this case. Practically everything the police said was wrong. Heather and Ryan weren’t shot on the 23rd. They were shot on the 25th which was the day they were found. I did a whole paper on the inconsistencies of this case. It is sad how corrupt the police were and sad that police fucked up this case more and more just to cover their asses. Also, Richie was never roommates with Ryan. He was the previous owner of the house. Richie met Ryan when Richie came over to "pick up something he left behind" when he moved. Richie got a glance at Ryan's guitar collection and came up with the idea to rob him.
from a civilian's pov, she has a point. but this is their _job_ bruh. its commonplace to do things in a certain order before interrogation. dee didn't know this though, so imma let it pass lol edit: seeing people say this wasn't done at the time this happened ? not sure how true that is, but that explains it then. still completely fucked though on their end but welp..
Even if people ignorantly jump to conclusions, they should've given him medical attention before interrogating him. If the roles were reversed, would they have treated Heather the same way? This is how society views and treats men. Its sickening.
As soon as the interrogator said that "if you got shot in the head you wouldn't be talking to me right now you would be dead" I figured that was the case because I've definitely seen stories in the past of people getting shot in the head and somehow surviving
my thing is, as an offocer dont they take pics first too plus wouldn’t they take a closer look at wounds smh these nigga really supposed to know wtf a bullet wound looks like, they in the field fr we not wheh shoulda sued they ahh 6feet under
It don't matter what nobody thinks about it, he's innocent until proven guilty right? He needs medical care, the huge bruise on his eyes suggest that but nobody cared because they thought he was guilty? Isn't something wrong here? I mean, he died at 28, that's the f' up part about all of this
Thinking that someone killed someone doesn’t justify not giving them medical attention though. That doesn’t strip them of their rights. This was negligent not a mistake, what does your training as a cop tell you to do when someone has bruises on their face? As long as he is a suspect you throw them in the interrogation for hours without care?
I was able to put 2 and 2 together fairly quickly, but I'm looking at the footage expecting a twist and not trying to interrogate a murder suspect. But, you don't even ask the dude if he wants an ice pack for a bruise that bad?
Ive watched this story a few times and Ive watched ppl react to it as well. I get all fucked up inside every single time. Can you imagine what that kid went through…?
That guy ended up committing suicide because of his brain. He couldn’t take it anymore. And I still can’t believe he was walking around after being shot in the face.
This gets me so mad and I skipped around and watched like a few seconds here and there. I can’t imagine watching the whole thing and hearing that dumbass ask him “then shot you in the eye” for a millionth time. What an idiot. After how many yes’s is he gonna understand yes. That man better be fired.
I get they didn't see it but idk. innocent until proven guilty. take bro to the hospital for his eye and then interrogate him there or transfer him into custody. personally... he was clearly out of it from the moment they busted through those doors. if his dad is telling them to do a welfare check on both of them I'd assume he isn't that type of person to harm her... but idk
I'm not saying it's all the cops' fault, but he should've been taken to the hospital for the massive bruise on his eye. Force hard enough to create a bruise that intense could most definitely cause a concussion. That's also a brain injury that has to be treated promptly, either by close monitoring or medical intervention. Missing bullet holes is understandable. The bruise wasn't.
Didn’t we see this already??? I don’t watch MrBallen so I’m sure this was posted like a month ago or so? Or idk…. Maybe my boyfriend watched it and I happened to be there… idk lol
I haven’t got to the end yet but I’m going to guess he has split personality disorder or something? Because he seems confused about everything even things we watched him do??
Real question, if he was actually guilty, would you guys still feel the cops were "wrong"? They were simply trying to be diligent in getting a confession out of him before getting him medical attention because it appeared that he was guilty. If he could barely walk and was banged up, I'm sure they would have prioritized getting him help but he seemed "fine", aside from his face being banged up. They had no way of knowing this man had brain damage
Regardless of if he actually did it or not anyone with an injury, suspect or not, is suppose to receive medical attention prior to an investigation. These are laws you don’t even have to be a cop to know about. Lol I need y’all to do better
Innocent until proven guilty ALWAYS. Idc if he had the murder weapon in his hand pointed at her . The police do not get to play judge, jury, or executioner. there job is to investigate. & immediate medical care was Ryan’s constitutional right guilty or not. His eye was almost pitch black they were wrong & should’ve been held responsible.
Your another mammy defending the police. He appeared to have bullet holes to but they didn't help him. You don't have to be walking funny to need serious help. Especially when his brain is damaged you 🤡
I really dislike his wording in this video. Towards the end he kind of frames it like the damage only started happening after the police showed up "After they arrived the clock started ticking" No, he has been like this for almost 3 days before their arrival, it is highly likely at this point that it was irreversible before they showed up. This in no way is ignoring that they failed in getting him checked out, but his wording is framed in a way that kind of discounts that he was likely beyond reversing the damage at this point.
Right you cant blame the police anybody who does is an idiot it definitely looks like a black eye and police aren't medically trained. Also the narrator of the video made it seem like time was of the essence once he was in police custody but actually time flew out the window 3 days ago when Ryan was walking around the house with gun shots to the head. It's a miracle he got help when he did... blame the shooter not the damn people trying to help and solve the incident.
This is a dumb take bruh it’s whatever for a civilian to say this but professionals have to follow guidelines & give anyone there constitutional rights
If someone is showing signs of being hurt, you are requird to give medical attention dispite someome being a suspect or not. So no they get no deffences , and was no vaild reason to. And he told the cop tons of times he was shot in the eye and the cop refused to get him medical help and didnt attempt to even look at his eye until the end
