did a huge piece on my left side... the ribs suck real bad. most pain i have ever had from a tattoo. some people say the left side more, because there are supposedly more nerves on that side. not sure. either way, still gonna get my right ribs done... coz people like us are not right in the head.
They say you forget the pain after having a baby and I can believe that because I too got a rib tattoo and have written proof that I NEVER wanted to go through that again.... But like... It's been 5 years and I kinda wanna 😬😏
I have 4 big tattoos. One on the ribs which was painful. Two on the outer arm which were no problem. I have a very big tattoo on the inner bicep from the elbow to the arm pit. Let me tell you that was by far the most pain I've ever experienced. I nearly passed out a few times and I have a very high pain tolerance. I had to get it done in two parts.
I just want something medium sized on my inner bicep, nothing big that reaches the armpit or the elbow. But I’m kinda rethinking that for what every one is saying
i got covered almost 80% of my body, but my back piece was a completely a nightmare and a totally different level of pain. by far the most painful spot in my opinion especially the spine and lower part of my back. HELL OF A PAIN
I got a good amount of work. Arms. Legs. Thighs. Chest. Neck. I just started my back piece. Full back going down to buttocks. My lord, I was not prepared for it. The back is brutal af and the buttocks are a nightmare. I only did the outline and am dreading going back. Fuhhhhhhggggggg
Just got my first tattoo ever…yesterday and I chose my stomach pretty painful went from a 7 to a 11 in pain …some spots were more horrible Then others I almost passed out 😅. At the end of the day we all have different pain tolerance just go for it people :) I have no regrets
im covered, fingers were BY FAR the worst. even more than the elbows, ditches, wrists, tops of hands, neck, etc. ive never in my life felt pain like when i got my fingers / knuckles tattood
I'm kind of a wuss about getting tattoos, but I gotta say I got a solid black tattoo on my inner bicep and it was one of my least painful tattoos. I guess it's different for everyone.
It definitely is different for everyone. Is it a blackout tattoo? A lot of artists will run their machines at a lower voltage for better saturation. In result, it might not hurt AS BAD as other tattoos on the inner bicep.
@@randomherotattoo Interesting, I didn't know that! It's not a full blackout tattoo but it's filled in with black so I suspect my artist used a similar technique.
Ive got my chest, forearm, hand and neck done. Hand and neck hurt the most, mainly kuz I'm a bit skinny/boney and the needle just rattles the bones... Chest got pretty spicy near the armpit and nipple lol at the end of the day tattoos are like a therapy for me, I just sit there and enjoy it, and I feel amazing afterwards.
I’ve had both sleeves, pits, chest, back and one full leg sleeve. In my experience the arm pits, around the nipple and both lower outer edge of the pec, over the collar bones, inner pit of the bicep, right over the shoulder, along the spine, back of the knee and inner thigh were all brutal. I did them all within 4 weeks In Thailand. I am now happy and have no desire to do anymore
I'm getting my inner bicep soon and I'm absolutely terrified 😨 I don't have many tattoos but so far the most painful has been near the bone on my outer wrist.
I would say im a pretty heavily tattooed guy and my chest was by far the worst for me. Very painful and very uncomfortable as the artist will apply pressure and make breathing a struggle. By far my worst
That’s a great point, we often just think of the pain of getting a tattoo as how much it hurts when the needle hits the skin, but we can often be put in very uncomfortable positions. I bet leaning on top of you sucked too. I’ve had to put people in some pretty uncomfortable positions.
I just got my inner bicep done very close to the armpit, basically on it. Let me tell you. It separates the men from the boys. I nearly threw up and passed out when it got close to the armpit. It's absolutely savage pain like nothing I've experienced before.
@@randomherotattoo I'm not going to sugar coat it. It's next level pain. I've had a massive rib tattoo and that sweet bliss compared to the armpit. I really don't recommend it.
I have a full suit of black and gray.its funny how people react to areas of the body and the pain level.i did my suit in three years and the sessions where eight to ten hours and all by one artist. The worst session was my butt checks hands down.close second would be my arm pits.those will never be getting touched up
I had my second rib cage tattoed today. From start to finish it hurt alot it wasn’t fun at all it was a 5 hour session. I’m glad I’m done with both ribs!
I watched this before I got my first tattoo & was relived to see the chest area wasn’t listed. Boy was I wrong, overall it wasn’t bad but the shading on my sternum hurt the worst. I got my whole chest tatted, upper ribs sucked getting inked. I can’t imagine doing a full rib tattoo
Haha yeah, there are definitely certain parts of the chest where I think my souls left my body for a minute. But, generally, it’s not as painful as quite a few other spots.
I just got my inner bicep done yesterday and lemme tell ya, it hurt. Luckily it was only 2 hours. Even though he wasn't tattooing the armpit, he may as well have because the pain shot right up into it.
My rib and inner bicep were a breeze tbh. My rib was my first ever tattoo. What I really wanna know is how bad the pain is on the sternum and behind the ear/neck cause I’m tryna get those soon. I have 10 tatts so far
Got my chest down today the middle of the chest sternum hurt the most burning you can feel the needle 💉 literally the rest of the chest wasn’t as bad depending on your pain tolerance
@@Barriotales I have both sides of my chest did n they both hurt like a bitch. I did the behind my ear couple weeks ago n it was a breeze. Now I just need to brave up n tackle that sternum. Thanks for sharing your experience hopefully I can be able to tolerate it.
The one on my bicep wasn't too bad, little tender near the armpit, little bit tender near the elbow. Behind the ear I felt nothing, wrist was pretty good, back of shoulder I felt nothing either. My most painful honestly? The forearm. Half due to the fact it was done too deep in spots. It was my first tattoo.
i just got my first tattoo and i got it on my finger and it didn’t hurt at all :)! maybe that’s just me but it felt like someone was just holding my finger with some pressure
Geez!!. His top 5 are where my tattoos are. Well I’m basically 75-80% covered in ink but my kneecap was a whole new ball game. I got my entire head done which wasn’t too bad but my kneecap… WHOA 🤯 I almost tapped out especially it being 5 hours of work 😳
As a guy who has had corrective chest surgery, I know what excruciating pain feels like. The pain was debilitating. I think I can handle a rib tattoo. I’m going to get a wrist tattoo this weekend. I heard wrist tattoos are really painful.
@@mateoosorio2606 it wasn’t so bad. It stung a little bit. It hurt the worst when the needle was of over the tendons. It only took about 45 minutes. I’m thinking about getting a 4th tattoo. Either the grim reaper in a tuxedo and top hat with a pipe, machine parts, or a ninja frog.
This is so crazy. I just got my fourth tattoo which was my most painful overall but I also got the inside of both biceps…. Seeing those spots on this list explains a lot 😂
@@randomherotattoo yeah, I remember being close to tapping out cause I got them both done at the same time.. this was years ago though and yesterday, I just got my rib cage
The area between my armpit and chest was the only time I had to pause my music and deep breathe. It was a bitch. The elbow and inner wrist had some punch though especially since my elbow is blacked out. I felt that in my soul 😂😭
Inner bicep is cake walk compared to the ribs. I rather do the inner bicep again compared to getting throat and right side of my neck 2nd session done. Still have to get the back piece of my neck finished in a 2nd session and the first session made me think how pleasant feeling the bicep felt compared to the pain of the back of my neck was.
I have a tattoo on the front of my neck and it was pretty painful but for some reason I got one on my hip area between the bone and my rib cage and it hurt way worse! My finger wasn’t too bad though.
Just got my first tattoo on my calf burned and hurt like crazy! The lines on the butterfly were thicker and needed shading and the ribbon in the middle had to be colored,, yijkes! lol
i have both my kneecaps done and i’ll tell you it just feels weird and you feel all the vibrations but definitely not most painful. i have a few small things on my inner thigh and i mean small and i wanted to die from that shit
for me... elbow ditches.... inside of the bicep.... anywhere near the arm pit (shoulder, back anywhere near the pit) shoulder blades really fucking killed too, spine was kinda spicy too
I have just about my entire left arm covered and the inside of the bicep and pit area wasn't bad at all. My chest is a different story though. Come August I'll be getting my stomach and ribs done so I'm not sure what to expect since this will be done by an artist I've never had tattoo me.
I do agree. And depending on the finger, when you get to the knuckle. But another annoying thing about finger tattoos is they ALMOST always need a touch-up. More often than not, in my opinion.
Getting my palm in September wish me luck. I got ribs, finger, hand, neck and knee done so I’m confident I can withstand the pain. It’s not going to be fun at all tho
I have a full half sleeve on bicep being done Nov 22 it wraps to inside the bicep into elbow ditch potentially (my artist freehands part of this kind of work so it could possibly end up in therr)....ahh so scary
Just got my elbow fully done, and it hurt but I was expecting way worse. I have a session coming up on my crease in my inner arm between my bicep and forearm. I heard that's bad, any thoughts on that?
Wow! I just tattooed my friend’s elbow the other day and he was in terrible pain. Hopefully that’s an indicator that your inner arm won’t hurt all that bad. But typically, yeah that’s another painful spot.
@randomherotattoo thanks. Yeah I was expecting major trauma. I guess everyone feels pain differently. When I was 18, i got a large piece on my stomach, and that was horrible. I went to laser it, and that was 10 times worse. Almost passed out if the Dr. Didn't slap my face and woke me out of it. True story.
Got a little tattoo on my upper bicep. It's the worst decision and placement ever because its right above a muscle. My arm muscle is now radiating soreness and tingling for a week now. I think this is the worst location by far. Nobody should get tattooed here lol.
@@randomherotattoo see thats what im thinking... Im not really used to tattoos but at the same time im a welder and i get burnt a lot so ive developed a pretty high pain tolerance lol
So I want a tattoo on the side of my wrist (the side where my pinky is) and I wanted to ask if it hurts? Since there's pretty much only skin and bone, I thought it is. But it's not in the ranking here so...is it not that bad?😅
I'm screwed then. I am getting three smaller tattoos but above my ankle bone (two on my left (inner side and outer side) and one on my rightt)...and my mom has tattoos (under her ribs, shoulder blade, around her hip to her thigh, wrists and neck) and she told me she didn't feel much pain... And I designed her a 10cm ish thigh tattoo she wants to get... I really hope I can get numbing cream or smth...
@@randomherotattoo I am getting them in like two/three weeks if I don't chicken out too much :) Do you have any tips for mental preparation or like what designs hurt less and stuff? I am designing my two tattoos and a matching one (a tribal like dragon, butterfly and moon but like minimalistic). Also thank you for responding so fast, that made my night :)
It all really is different from person to person because we all handle pain differently. But, typically a lot of color and shading may tend to hurt more depending on the size of piece, due to saturation. Same with black pieces. But you got this!! Mind over matter. Just don’t forget to breathe and eat before your appointment. GOOD LUCK!!
GENERALLY, no. But to some people, it can be. Pain is subjective. My list of least painful and most painful is mostly based on a general consensus and what I have seen in the industry. Remember the closer you get to the ditch of the elbow and the closer you get to the bend of the wrist, the more it does start to hurt.
Got my back done 2 full sleeves including my hands and fingers Behind the ear My right thigh My left leg from knee cap down sleeve …. But yesterday I got tatted on my butt cheek…. Ladies and Gents. Most pain of my life haha:
All my tats felt great like getting a massage really just kidding the center chest hurt and the rib hurt and oddly enough the back shoulder hurt more than the chest dont know why
That’s awesome!! I know and see a lot of people that think the ribs is one of the worst. But, everyone is different. If I remember correctly, my ribs wasn’t extremely painful.
