As someone living with Sickle Cell Disease, I can vouch for how extremely painful and dangerous it can be. Thanks to The Infographics Show for spreading more awareness.
My appendix ruptured when I was 4 years old, my Dad rushed me to the hospital and was immediately told by the surgeon that if he had waited 15 more minutes to bring me to hospital, I would have already been dead and as it was, I only had a 50% chance of surviving the surgery. Obviously I did survive, thanks to my dear Dad. Rest In Peace Dad, I love and miss you so very much! 😓
It is painful as someone who has suffered for tooth decay and appendicitis I can say appendicitis is 100 billion times worse and the only thing worse than the pain was the recovery 3 weeks of not barley being able to walk while being forced to walk by the nurse honestly it made me wish I was dead just so the pain would stop
An infected tooth can ruin your internal organs and poison your brain. You must have it taken care of . If you can't afford a root canal and crown maybe have the tooth pulled and do a cycle of penicillin. It's a medical emergency.
My appendix ruptured when I was 19 years old and can confirm it was AWFUL. I had been feeling generally unwell with a mild fever and fatigue and headaches for a few days, but thought it was just a cold or other virus. It started to progress to almost flu-like symptoms, exhaustion, worse headaches, and what I would describe as muscle aches and pains all over my stomach area, sides, and lower back. I took Tylenol and assumed it would pass on its own. Then one morning, I woke up and was in pretty bad pain specifically in the right side of my lower abdomen area and when I told my parents, my mom assured me it was just a bad period. But this was just SO different and my period had passed a few weeks prior. I went to the ER and the doctor originally suspected a kidney infection or a UTI that was becoming a kidney infection. He soon started pressing on my stomach area and my sides to examine and figure out what was happening. He pressed down pretty firmly on my right lower abdomen, and I SCREAMED and began crying. The pain felt incredibly sudden, sharp, almost a burning or searing pain. They quickly arranged for an ultrasound. My already extremely inflamed appendix had burst inside of me (I assume from the pressure of the examination.) Within 40 minutes, I was started on painkillers, IV antibiotics, and rushed into emergency surgery for them to remove the appendix and clean out my abdomen of all the fluids from the appendix. It was a terrible experience but I’m honestly glad it had burst in the ER and under the immediate care of a doctor and not while I was at work or driving or something. People, listen to your body. Your body does not give you these signals for no reason!
A SIL's appendicitis was misdiagnosed even though it presented as painful and a high white blood cell count. It caused her to develop ovarian cysts. When they finally operated, the appendix burst after it was taken out of her.
My dad died of appendicitis, and it breaks my heart to know he died in so much pain. He was truly so terrified of the doctor, he just laid in bed hoping to recover miraculously. I wish I had done more to comfort him. I’m not sure what else I could have done.
I’m so glad you put sickle cell on this list there are not enough people that know about it and know how horrible it can truly get for us I’m really happy people are starting to recognize how serious of a problem it is!
shows a woman without any hands and her face torn off. also shows a guy with his leg bone exposed. there's only so much gore animation like this can convey.
As someone who has had appendicitis and gotten his appendix removed, I can say that it is the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced. I’m just glad we got it early. Others in my family haven’t been so fortunate and got really sick from their ruptured appendices
Yup. Agonizing pain. The doctors thought I was pregnant (at twelve mind you) and left me all day in emergency. My appendix ruptured. I’m glad yours was caught in time.
My dad got Appendicitis around 6-7 years ago. He described it as a cat was scraping your intestines open. He fortunately had his appendix removed before it burst.
My friend woke up in the middle of the night with a burst appendix and he was lucky that they removed it before it got infected but later he got lucky again when he got infected and it went away after surgery
I had mine a few years ago and can't confirm that it is so much painful. I also have sciatica since more than a year and still can't say that I ever reached a 10 on the pain scale. Maybe I can handle physical pain well, but mental pain is what I would consider more painful in a different way than anything else I experienced so far.
Same. I had mine taken out back in 2012, with that, it had actually burst on the way to the hospital. But because I was stubborn, I insisted I could walk in there that day, an insistence I immediately regretted, as I collapsed the moment I walked through the hospital door. I was only 10, going on 11 in a week.
I was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis at age 8 years old. I def know how painful arthritis is I’ve been living with it for 13 years. I’m 21 now and take injections weekly and 2 other meds daily for pain. It’s made me stronger for sure! 💪
@@robertroth618 Now I actually feel bad for you but even though we have free healthcare medicine and gluten/dairy/meat free food are so expensive it’s annoying-so the free healthcare doesn’t do much for an example:My dads gluten free and his bread costs £6.99 which is $9.61 in America!
I’ve had a frozen shoulder. I had to do the painful stretching and it took four years to get better and six to be completely better. I need to add to this that the most painful part only lasted a few months and after that it did start getting better but it was about five years before I got full functionally back. I’m completely fine now so there is hope. It just takes time 🙂
I wonder if this is what happened to me... It was diagnosed as a pinched nerve but I was completely unable to use my left arm without SCREAMING pain, to the point of going to the E.R. biweekly for over 6 months... I still wake up with my left arm in horrific pain and almost useless every day. I live the first hour or so of my day with a left hand either doesn't even function (fingers won't grip) or only functions while experiencing extreme pain.
I dont know if this counts, but a crown fell off while drinking dr pepper today, exposing the root to very cold, very bubbly soda. I swear my life flashed before my eyes.
@@DoctorBones1 there actuslly is some footage of how the woman looked after the attack. There's also an audio clip where you can hear the chimp going crazy
Appendicitis caused me so much pain for days. The issue is, I had no symptoms other than the pain. The common ones are nausea and vomiting, fevers, and just general malaise. Didn’t get any of it. Just the pain. After days I knew I had to go to the hospital, where they confirmed that I did in fact have appendicitis. I was 15 at the time, and my local hospital didn’t have a pediatric surgery unit, so I had to be transferred and wait overnight for surgery. The pain was UNBELIEVABLE. After the surgery, I was not properly cleaned out and had to go back to the hospital with a 106° fever after discharge. Absolutely miserable
When I had a job involving lots of paperwork, I gave myself paper cuts on a regular basis! The worst one was when I pulled a form toward me with one hand, then I cut the fourth finger ony other hand with the edge of the form. Gave me chills.
It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back, It's like a whirlwind inside of my head, It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within, It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin!
The heart attack made me sad… how I lost my dad…. Over a month ago now. I knew he had chest pains few times. Until he had another one that was the actual heart attack. Makes me Sad to think he did feel pain 😔😔 all I know he’s in a whole better place no pain. Just in peace 😔🙏🏽
i lost my granddad before i was born due to a heart attack. ive still wanted to see him to this day :( . he was a real brave guy (from what i was told by my parents) because he fought in the war.
I'm at such a genetic disadvantage, there are heart attacks in my family and my mother has rheumatoid arthiritis, and every member of my family has suffered appendicitus which is great.
I have extreme pain almost constantly. Having TMJ (a jaw issue that can lead to head pain, jaw joint pain and locking, ear aches, and finger aches (at least for me)), IBS (irritable bowl Syndrome) which happens in both constipation and diaherria for me, and painful period cramps that make you cry in pain (and I have PCOS, didn't have a period for three years and got hit with a 2 week one with heavy flow this year) :') I can handle it a bit more if they hit at seperate times, but sometimes I get hit with all three if I'm off my meds which is often because I have to see a doctor for more of some. Muscle relaxers lead to periods, can't really control my diet currently so I eat trigger foods a lot which makes my stomach hurt often. It can't compare to these others things, but it's the most painful stuff I've been experiencing.
Sweetie, go to doctors until you get an answer. All that stuff together suggests an underlying problem. Don’t let them gaslight you, push for an answer.
I have TMJ and IBS too. In fact, I also have peptic ulcer disease due to the pain meds I was prescribed for a long time after breaking my back. If I'm not careful, ulcers start bleeding. Then I get constipation, followed by diarrhea, then I end up vomiting bile for several days. All the while, I'm not even able to hold down water. That usually happens a couple times a month. I was also diagnosed with diverticulitis, gastritis, and colitis. I'm so sorry to hear about all the issues you're dealing with. Maybe one day medicine will catch up and they'll actually be able to cure what makes us miserable.
When I was 13 I had a piece of steel split my eye in 2. I’m turning 45 and I can still describe the pain. I’ve injured myself or the years but that pain will always haunt me.
My brother had appendicitis AND got sepsis after the surgery. This was very close to Christmas, and I'm glad he made it home in time to celebrate with us.
I've have had a burst appendix before, so severe that the doctors needed to remove a portion of my intestines and a portion of my colon..was the most excruciating pain I've ever felt in my entire life
@@daynacuteiful1006 Thanks Dayna, I am doing fine. One thing you might try if you have any digestive issues at all is milk kefir. It has done more for me than anything else I have tried.
The most painful experience I’ve ever had was living in financial doom. My brother had the Brugada syndrome and it cost my family hundreds of thousands of dollars for treatment. As immigrants, we didn’t have health insurance, so it wiped out both my savings and retirement accounts including our college funds and home equity which put us in a lot of debt. I managed to come in contact with a financial advisor who helped me grow my finances in the right stocks to invest in and I’m happy to say that my I and my family are living debt free today! 🥳🎉🎉
I’m so happy you were able to put yourself together and pursue your career instead of giving up... most people would’ve given up thinking that it’s all over for them 👍 Kudos to you!! 👌🤛🎉
Yes...Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up If you are reading this, never ever give up, we have potential to accomplish our Goals and will succeed. We just need that leap of faith that’s all!!
@@harryjohnson4470 There's lot of investment opportunities (ETFs, stocks, c rypto real estate). My best advise you get a professional to guide you making a profitable one.
I have PCOS and sometimes it literally feels like my organs are exploding inside of me. The pain is so bad I swear, get a fever, nearly throw up, can’t move, and struggle breathing. I’m constantly afraid I have appendicitis but it’s usually just cysts on my ovaries.
My younger brother was diagnosed with arthritis when he was seven he is eight now and is fighting it with confidence. It really hurts him but he quite likes the attention 😂❤
My appendix burst when I was on a cruise ship. Excruciating doesn’t even begin to describe it. This was 19 years ago and I still remember it like it was yesterday. I had the stomach pains at first and the “doctor” on the ship said that it was an ear infection and said rest would do the trick. The next day I woke up and started vomiting like never before. I eventually was puking pure bile and it ruined my throat and mouth. I couldn’t walk and I could barely think I was is so much agony. I was constantly just yelling and screaming until I passed out again. Thankfully my aunt was also a doctor and convinced the crew to let her talk to the captain. I guess they got to shore in time and took me straight to the hospital. I woke up when they were doing the ultrasound where they had to PUSH on my stomach and that was the pain I remember the most. Pure rage. There’s no adjectives to describe that pain. Luckily I had a great team of surgeons and they got all the exploded pieces out and everything inside of it. Very lucky to be alive. 1/10, would not recommend.
I'm 25 with osteoarthritis affecting all joints. I also suffer with fibromyalgia. I've been battling both since 18. Took years to get a diagnosis. I have allergies to NSAIDs (all forms of Ibuprofen). Getting relief is a struggle. Finding a balance between what's too much vs making sure I'm not doing too little is a struggle. Anyways, I’m glad to see Arthritis on here. Its so painful.
I had my appendix removed a year ago today. It honestly felt like a centralized cramp and it wasn’t too debilitating but I wasn’t able to eat or even drink water without throwing up. The doctors didn’t believe it was my appendix at first because I wasn’t in that much pain. X-ray showed that it was lol
Oh my goodness, I am surprised I get up out of bed every day. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, sciatica from spinal stenosis, Crohn's disease and have had frozen shoulder. I have some other fun issues, but I am still so incredibly thankful for my blessed life! God is still good!
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Im 28 and ive had it since I was 10. Can confirm its one of the most painful things you can experience. Being so young with it, it has really taken a toll on my mental health. Knowing that I can never do the physical things ive wanted. You're always fatigued too. And exercising is pretty painful as well. So its hard to stay in shape. I do my best but inevitably I will be crippled. I cant even move my wrists right now, and I can only imagine in 20 years ill be in a wheel chair. I can only hope there will be a cure by then even though its highly unlikely. If I was rich, Id do stem cell treatment.
@@donglebookpromax6405 I haven’t and I didn’t know it was curable but I’m not sure what my doctors would do cause I go to st.Jude and they haven’t spoken about a cure yet.
@@creepbunn it’s still experimental so you would have to specifically ask for it, but the limited tests that they have done have worked. I hope it works out for you
I’ve had sciatica on and off since seventh grade. The most painful thing I’ve ever experienced. I can’t move at all, every second is agony. Wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. My physical therapist and chiropractor are my best friends at this point.
I've had sciatica since my back gave out when I was 14. I'm 36 now. The pain is indeed debilitating. I spend most of my time either sitting or laying because the pain is too horrendous. I only wish mine was temporary..😞
I was diagnosed w a cluster headache some years back. Ive had migraines, kidney stones, children, broken leg, a foot and some digits, really all kinds of painful physical torture but let me tell you that cluster deal was hands down the absolute worse sh*t I've ever felt. Ive heard it sends people over the edge 🤯😭
I had an infection of the gall bladder, having previously had 10 yrs of sudden attacks of excruciating pain that would last between 3 and 8 hrs. I never knew what was causing this pain and it usually occured at night. I was at work one day and suddenly went absolutely freezing cold throughout my whole body, with my teeth chattering nonstop. Paramedics knew this was a sign of infection. Was in hospital for 10 days as my gallbladder was full of infection. I was so ill they removed my gallbladder. Turns out all those sudden bouts of pain was when i had eaten a lot of fat on those days. No pain since they removed my gallbladder (which was full of gallstones, hence the pain and eventual infection). What a relief!!
Dad had a mile heart attack. It was so mild it wasn’t identified until he had heart surgery and they discovered signs of it. Men on my dad’s side of the family don’t tend to live past their 50s. We discovered it at thanksgiving when he was the age his dad was when he died. We’re really glad we caught the problem before it killed him. :(
The arthritis thing is so real. When I was 2, I was diagnosed with JIA (Juvenile idiopathic arthritis) but it was only in my knees and ankles. Ngl, ITS SO PAINFUL sometimes.
I got sciatica about 6 years ago. One of the solutions I was treated with was an epidural injection in the spine, since I had a degenerative disk. I haven't had sciatica pain since.
Several people, friends and family, have had to go through that experience and it was psychologically painful to see the grief they endured and share in it too.
I had a kidney stone that got infected, I tried to get them to just put air in my IV and just put me out. They said “this is almost the pain a a woman goes thru in labor having a child...” that might be right, but I never heard someone say “Let’s have another kidney stone!” 😂😂
@@awfullyawkward4189 the gall bladder attack is horrific. Mine was almond sized. But childbirth without drugs was way worse. I wasn’t trying to be tough and have my daughter without painkillers- it just happened that way after 21 hours of labor when they gave me pitocin. But kidney stones I hear is just about as bad.
