When you realize that the 5th deadliest war in history (even deadlier than WWI) happened because some random guy failed his imperial exam and so decided he was Jesus’s brother.
I'm still convinced this is how history will be taught in the future, once we all have our brains overloaded with memes coming through our corporate overlord's mandatory brain chips. You're ahead of the curve, man. XD
As i study qing dynasty history in my school ,i can tall that is 100% accurate. Thx scorpo for making this, Hong Xiuquan is actually not famous for the western, even in history lesson ,teacher will always skip the taiping heavenly kingdom rebellion ,cuz it is not in the sysllabus
I sincerely thank you for this, Scorpo. This war is so commonly overlooked, despite its massive casualties, and a similar event cannot be allowed to happen. Thanks for this meme
Hey Scorpo! I have an idea for you! How about making a video on Ivan the Terrible (there’s enough content for a three-minute video, that’s for sure) I always dreamed that a video about the history of Russia would appear on your channel. With love from Russia❤🇷🇺
Ivan was such a meme.. Terrifying to the neigbours, terrifying to his own servants. A living embodiment of rage that established proto-KGB that brutally cracked down on nobility... and still killed much less than Western European rulers of the same times.
Your videos, which deconstruct important historical facts/heroic figures/national leaders in a humorous and mocking manner, are brilliant, tailored as a desensitization therapy for Chinese people, gradually causing the younger generation to lose their patriotic sentiments. Keep up the good work!
he's missing only one thing It's about dismantling Western pride by telling people in a humorous and mocking way about the Europeans' spread of plague and drugs, and the Americans' spread of venereal diseases and firearms.
I have never felt more patriotic after watching a hardbass video about how the brother of jesus started a war in china that ended up having more casualties than world war one. with a pinch of carmelldansen for flavour.
I just read the comments on this one, and it turns out it’s Hong Xiuquan of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom! Suddenly, it dawned on me! Ah, I learned it in a history textbook~ (but the chapters I studied were very short~~) 這部剛剛看了下留言,原來是太平天國的洪秀全啊!頓時間,恍然大悟!啊是歷史課本上學過的呢~(但學習的章節很短~~)
Uh... the Europeans played almost no role in the suppression of the Taiping Rebellion. Nearly all the fighting was done by the private army of Zheng Guo'fan. Zheng just bought a lot of guns and cannon from the Brits.
Chinese history be like: - Some guy opposed the hike of prices of rice. - Result: 420 million dead, 69000 people eaten alive - Decisive strategic victory for Bing Chilling dynasty
