For those wondering why Playstations (particularly 1 and 2) became so popular, a lot of it was to do with how ahead of the time the graphics were for their 3d games, they very rarely crashed and the fact that you could play PS1 and the new PS2 games on the PS2, giving it that huge variety that people wanted for gameplay. Even to this day, PS1 and PS2 still hold up to this day, which is why PS3, PS4 and PS5 haven't been close to matching the sales of the first 2 consoles.

I think one of the main factors of the success of both Playstations was how ahead of their time they were when it came to their graphics and the fact that you could play both PS1 and PS2 games on them.

I still have my Wii, Wii U, my friends Wii (when he replaced it with the Wii U), my friends Wii U (when he replaced it with the Switch) plus my 3 Nintendo Switches. 1 as my main, the other 2 for an additional 2 islands for Animal Crossing.

I think the wii u would have had more sells if they said wii games could be played on it, because before I tried a wii disc on it and it works was a year nearly 2 from having a wii u but still prefer playing my wii because can play my gamecube games on it, but mostly been playing my ps4, switch and 3ds lately but, now and than play one of my other consoles
