I've certainly never seen the Loch Ness Monster portrayed like that before... and never heard of the redcap... so many mythical creatures to choose from in the UK...
If someone don't know, Baba Yaga is a witch-goddess, that lives between Yav'(world of live) and Nav'(world of death). When child got to Baba Yaga(he was often kidnapped by herself or by her geese-swans), it means, that he hurt himself. Baba Yaga lives in a hut on chicken or sheep's legs, and sometimes she can be helpful, when she gives to the hero food, magical objects(for example flying carpet or fast running boots), bed for a night and washes the hero in banya. Baba Yaga doesn't ride a broomstick, she rides a big iron flying or jumping mortar, steers with the iron pestle and sweeps her trail with the broom or with her long tongue. Instead of magical glass ball she have got magical saucer with a blue border and with golden apple, that show all events taking place in the world
I think this list is a bit of a misnomer... I think it's a list of most popular "cryptid" not favorite "mythical" creature. Cool Phoenix fact you got there!!
The most popular mythical creature in Venezuela is the Silbon, which is the spirit of a young man who was cursed by his grandfather after seeing him murder his father after doing the same with his nu daughter-in-law, the grandfather of the silbon, before cursing him, tied him to a tree and whipped him and made some dogs try to eat him, it is said that he carries his father's bones on his back, his height exceeds the tops of the trees, he usually roams the Venezuelan plain at night behind him the dogs that followed him, if his whistle is heard nearby it is because he is far away, but if if you get to hear his whistle far away it's because he's close
its like one of our mythical creature here too, round this country in Malaysia. The whistle thing is exactly the same tho. 😁 this thang is huge and have furry pair of legs, plus what they witness this creature only have one eye.
Greece would have a ton of mythical creatures....minotaur, hydra, phoenix, pegasus, skyla, haribdis, medusa , centaur, cyclops, siren, mermaid, sphinx etc. Plus the befana is basically Italy's santa claus , she brings presents.
As person from the Netherlands I actually had to look up Kludde. To be honest, we have way more myths about water monsters because that's a way prevalent element here. I was actually expecting mermaids to be more prevalent, or the Lorelei
Kludde comes from the border areas between the north of Belgium and the Netherlands, most known the Antwerp region- It also predates Belgium as an actual country, which is probably why it's shared between both countries on this list.
As a Bangladeshi 🇧🇩, I can say we all heard the story of Shakchunni in our childhood . She is actually a dead married woman who wears *bangles* or *shakha* (Bangladeshi adornment) from where the word shakchunni came . Shakha is The symbol of Hindu married women in the Bangladeshi villeges . It is a myth of village people that when the married women go outside of home in the dark , they need to take anything like stick or metalic , because Shakchunni fears it . If a woman don't do so , then she will attack her , disguise herself like the victim and start living with the victims husband . This story is told also for threatening children so that they don't go outside without permission.
hiiii!!! New Zealander here! :D just wanted to let you know that, the image used looks nothing like the traditional taniwha 😅 one of the Taniwha's most iconic features is their face, which usually resembles a Pukana!
In italy "la befana" is just a "candy-only" version of santa claus. She's an old woman, who flyes on a broom and during the night of the epiphany she give candy to the good children and coal for the bad ones...and that's all. She's not very important, actually I had forgotten her existence.
I'm from Nepal & I see here yeti cool 😚. & The term Yeti comes from the Nepali dictionary and means 'abominable snowman'. It is also called Meh-Teh in the Tibetan folklore. According to urban legends, Yeti is a two-legged white, shaggy ape-like animal and is described to be 10-20 feet tall.
Same here with our American Bigfoot, the only difference is the color of the fur, height and the amount of siting it was "supposedly" seen but never proven, both creatures are just proven to be plausible or unconclusive as both of them are a big mystery.
Befana in Italy is a old woman who takes presents to the children on the night between 5 and 6 january, as the on the feast of the Epiphany while the Magi bring gifts to the little Jesus
I'm South African and seeing the Tikoloshe was both funny and impressive to me bc you are 100% correct 😂, still pretty scary to me though when I visit the village. 🇿🇦❤
We Malaysian & Indonesian (+Singaporean & Bruneian too) are pretty much shared the same culture in some parts, so our mythical creatures can be the same sometimes.
Shesha isnt some monster. Shesha is the mount of lord Vishnu(beside Garuda). Shesha is also said to have incarnated as Lakshmana the younger brother of Lord Rama(an incarnation of Vishnu) and Lord Balarama the elder brother of Lord Krishna(another incarnation of Lord Vishnu).
A little bit of context from portugal bicho papão, is a term we use to tell kids to eat their veggies and go to bed early or else bicho papão will either come out of the closet or under their bed and eat them. bicho papão is translated to devouring critter
Most popular mythical creatures from Indonesia: Pocong, kuntilanak, gendruwo, Wewe gombel, sundel bolong, tuyul, kolor ijo, jelangkung, jenglot, Kinyang, etc.
@@creativeart7477 mythical creatures= makhluk mitos Ghost= hantu.
2:25 I thought the most popular mythical creature for Canada would be the Wendigo A malevolent, cannibalistic, supernatural being with Reindeer like antlers that's strongly associated with winter, the north, coldness, famine, and starvation It's part of the belief system of indigenous tribes (aka native americans) which I guess counts for the US as well so that might be why it isn't listed
🇳🇬 🤝 🇧🇷 Agreed. Also in Nigeria, some politicians not only STEAL money, but also THREATEN you if you refuse. Check out *2023 Nigeria Elections campaigns*.
Just to you know: usually, Saci (or Saci Pererê) is depicted as an Street Smart Kid, not like a Muscular Jojo Character (like the thumb) or a Crippled old Man (like in the video)
Quase todos do vídeo receberam uma dose de terror. Imagina como seriam a Mula sem cabeça, Curupira, Boto cor de rosa entre outros. Lembrei do lobisomem e da sua sátira: "lambisame" que seria um lobisomem afeminado. Kkkk
He List Data, I was Just wondering if your channel is monetised because I’ve heard RU-vid does not allow monetisation for these types of videos. I would appreciate a response since I’m facing this issues with my other channel posting content similar to yours. Thanks 🙏
Excellent video!!! In addition, I'd say in Argentina two of the most popular creatures are: Pomberito: a humanoid being so similar to a monkey, who likes to drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes. Umita: A kind of rolling head that scares people with its scream Besides, in Uruguay the most popular is probably the Werewolf! 😁
In Italy we have cyclops (in the seaside close to Naples), Scilla and Cariddi (two powerful monsters that guard the channel between south Italy and Sicily), sirens (close to Capri - originally flying monsters) and many more, as written by Homer in his book the Odyssey.
Dokkaebi from this film looks like hormon monsters from Big Mouth xD Edit: In Poland the most popular creature is Baba Jaga. Strzyga is popular too but less.
In the U.S, it depends on what state your in. Yes, we have heard of Bigfoot, however there are many other creatures that are more known in the u.s than that
Got to say i love this depiction of the Turul. Others just tend to make it some kind of weird Gryphon (especially AI generated depictions)but this is authentic as it is indeed like a giant hawk as seen in ancient gold statuettes.
Here in Brazil, has many mythical creatures, like; Comadre Florzinha (forests guardian), Boi Tata (Giant fire snake) , Curupira (guardian forest man), Unhudo (man with big nails), Pesadelo ( man with big hat), if you take the his hat, you wake up in the morning with gold bars
O certo seria "There are many mythical creatures" - Há muitas criaturas mitológicas HAS é usado para a terceira pessoa do Singular como It, He and She. Nunca no Plural e o Verbo no Inglês nunca está sozinho. Ele sempre vem acompanhado de um Pronome.
Besta fera (demoniac centaur), Cachorrinha da Água (lucky female dog), Mula sem cabeça (donkey with flames instead head), ET Bilu (cement eater), Jailson (strong, hairy bear), Silvio Santos (imortal, rich man), Luiz Inacio (the thief of nine fingers), Temer (brazilian vampire lord), Dilma (wind stocker)
I'm from México. And yeah la llorona would be one of the mythical creatures. We have many more though. Another big one would be "nahuales" ( a shapeshifter), chupacabras and witches.
Canada is supposed to be the Wendigo, it's weird that China's most popular mythical creature isn't a Chinese dragon, but then I researched Nian and his story involving Chinese New Year so it makes sense that he's on the list.
I'm from Brazil, the legends that have are: Saci Pereré; Mula sem Cabeça, Curupira, Iara, Boto cor-de-rosa, Cuca and Lobizomen there's one more but I don't remember
The Colombian 🇨🇴 is a good one, here used to be a tv show that talked about stories and show legends like this one, we also have el hombre caiman, la madre monte, la mano peluda, El silbón as well, la muelona and many more.
i love to read about mythical creatures,it°s so interesting...here in Mexico,in addition to La Llorona, there°s another creature named el Nahual, who is a shaman or sorcerer and whom sold his soul to the devil and then he can become some different animals:dog,owl,donkey,jackal,wolf,etc...🌕🌟
