This is a visualization of the Most popular TV series 1951 - 2019 (MOST WATCHED TV SERIES) ever since 1951. We have tried our best to visualize the most popular tv series ever since 1951 to 2019.
Eventually the most popular TV series is also the most watched TV series. The first tv shows were experimental, sporadic broadcasts viewable only within a very short range from the broadcast tower starting in the 1930s.
The first national live television broadcast in the US took place on September 4, 1951. In the graph you can see that only the best tv series makes it to the top 10 most popular and most watched tv series list.
A TV series is usually released in episodes that follow a narrative, and are usually divided into seasons (US and Canada) or series (UK) - yearly or semiannual sets of new episodes. show with a limited number of episodes may be called a miniseries, serial, or limited series. A one-time show may be called a "special". TV shows can be viewed as they are broadcast in real time. In 2020 no one knows how many series are there in the entire world. Approximately 30 TV series has been released in 2020 till May 2020.
The best tv series are eventually the most popular TV series and they are also the most watched TV series. Checkout the video to know the most popular TV series in 2019 (the one that makes it to the top).

Just want to throw out that over the course of almost 20 years Lucille Ball consistently remained in the top ten: first of course with I Love Lucy, than the Lucy Show, and finally with Here's Lucy. That's amazing!

Breaking Bad final season's final episode has 10.28 million which is the highest for that series. But not able to get place on this list. Breaking bad has lower viewership may be because most of them watched it on streaming services

Probably wasn’t as big, when it originally aired on TV.. Its final episode only amassed about 5.69 million people. If I’m not mistaken, The Office did get larger in popularity after its conclusion (from streaming platforms like Netflix).

I've come to realize that when I was a child and watching shows intended for children, I was apparently heavily beaten in viewer numbers by shows that adults watched. The only show I saw for children was "Jessie" and not even spelled right. As an adult, I always thought children had a lot more time to watch TV than us!

Y'all got this way wrong. Your data is uploaded in some kind of faulty way. You didn't have The X Files during the 90s pop up at all and that's just inaccurate, as it should have been on there at least for a few years. Instead it popped up around 2016, when the revival came. That's crap. Also you didn't have Game of Thrones popping up until 2017 and I promise you it was the MOST watched series in the world for years after it debuted in 2011. You didn't have LOST even break the top three at all and LOST DOMINATED viewership for at least three to four years. Also where were all the big cable shows?? Where was The Office?? Go watch some of the other big Data channels TV stat vids and you'll see how off you are. Try again.

I don't understand why the CBS crime dramas are so popular like NCIS and CSI. They are awful and they follow the same formula every week. It starts with a crime. They spend the show trying to solve the crime. 5 minutes before the show ends, they figure out who committed the crime.
