We finally got a calm day to fish our home waters out of Hillsboro inlet! We started the day by catching speedos aka firetail scad. These are one of the best live baits for deep sea fishing. Our goal was to slow troll them all day and catch whatever bites! We had an action packed day with multiple different species, including an African pompano, which is a real treat for any offshore fishermen.

Sad to say Den, African Pompano Mate for Life and although You checked off bucket list a Mate for this fish is going to be swimming down there looking for her mate until death after swimming 3000 miles to where you are you should have let it go, and kept the amber jack instead?? I Can tell you this, because I/we lived St. Vincent W.I. , I shot a Af Pompano , not knowing. . . the Mate followed me back underwater 1/2 mile never leaving his/her mate. . . after 20 years I still can see the face of this fine long traveling ocean friend. . . looking .. for when I would release ...for her mate , now dead on my spear. Easy to Catch, Impossible to replace?

Beautiful African Pompano. Great recipe for a fantastic fish. As a retired person who is mobility impaired I watch tons of You Tube videos. Yours is at the top of my favorites. Another interesting channel is cooking with clams. Clams is the nickname of Will who lives in Key West and Long Island. A semi retired restauranteur who still owns a New York combination seafood market and restaurant he knows a great deal about cooking. He lobsters with a terrible net so I suggested he buy one of Brooks nets and tickle sticks. Congratulations on the nuptials I’ve been impatiently waiting ever since Viktor proposed down in the Caribbean.
