I've personally seen quite a few W124's and W201's with over a million km on the odometer. Most of them look quite rough but still run without issues. They are extremely overengineered and overbuilt.

I honestly scoffed at your bit about luxury cars costing luxury maintenance bills. While that should be the case so many "luxury" car makers use cheap plastic parts in the engine or other cost cutting around the car. Not a very premium experience or product to me. I thunk you should pay a premium if the car had good parts but the fact is many dont.

You know I never ever see GMC vehicles any any lists like these? Is there a reason for that? My '99 Yukon is almost on 300k miles and it's still going strong and it hasn't been taken care like one would think

@@harveyhankerson8359 my co-worker owns a 2002 Ford Explorer that he bought brand new. It now has 379,000 miles, but he did replace the transmission once.

@@harveyhankerson8359 I just replaced the transfer case on my 2003 Silverado 2500HD. It was only $400 from the salvage yard. The transmissions are only $600 and the going rate for an engine is $800. It's all way cheaper than a new truck payment.
