Have you heard about the sparta princess? She is still alive . The very last of the sparta pride . 18 months old ,alone and starving in Kruger. She is a direct blood relative of the Mapogos! She needs help ! Peace be safe !
@@tifo.stories I know and I m still mad about it, I seriously wonder how they were able to live with themselves. The Mapogos males might have been too much for them to handle, but the Sparta princess is a different case. Don't they want redemption, right the wrongs, be on the right side of history just for once?
nobodies13 There is a kids show called the lion guard i think cuz simba showed his son kion about the lion guards how they conquered the land and scar was the leader
I know nature is brutal and all but when 6 male lions in a nature reserve are on their way to kill 100 lions in a year, that should have been stopped. That’s a variant of a blood rage that should be eradicated. Usually lions will expand territory due to lack of food and water and mate selection etc. but there was plenty for them to hunt. I’m not sure those traits should be passed down. I know I’ll get a lot of hate and called naive and stupid etc. I guarantee I’m not that way. I get how nature is. But this. This was like a freaking gene of insanity more than some warrior band of brothers.
@@ronowens304 Interesting. Not sure i agree with you though. If we were to intervene to stop the carnage why shouldn't we intervene to do the opposite? help lions who are in danger. It's a slippery slope and unless an animal was hurt by a man made trap or snare, i think we should let nature play out. Survival of the fittest.
@@nomastomas002 I think I understand where he's coming from. Unless that lion coalition produced at least 100 or more cubs, then this ended in a net loss of already endangered species.
@@ronowens304 They were stopped, after Shaka's death, Mr.T returned with his 4 remaining brothers to kill the Majingilanes that killed his twin, but men took the opportunity to end the Mapogos and poachers killed Rasta when the Mapogos were roaring and looking for the hiding Majingilanes. Pretty Boy was also badly hurt in a fight alone against the Majingilanes, so down to 3, they made a temporary retreat. Once PB recovered, they were read to go back to retake their territory, but at this time, poachers killed Dreadlocks, the largest Mapogo.
They strong, so thats why they abel to take it from the from down. You need to cut its neck broken, if you want to kill animal, when braking neck is the easiest way to kill the animal.
Here's the link! sockshare.net/watch/qd7n8kGK-brothers-in-blood-the-lions-of-sabi-sand.html It's an hour and a half, it opened up a new tab when I pressed play, but I just closed that and went back and it worked fine.
The Mapogo Clan were unique in many ways. The impact that these six lions made on this territory was unusual in many respects. The number of prides they took over and the number of other lions that they killed was unprecedented. We may never see this type of dominance for that many years over a territory ever again!
Cxxj INDIGO well u know humans can kill all of these lions if they attacked them.. Also I’m pretty sure the lions are afraid of humans even tho they are 6 strong male lions
kskskskskskskski nig yeah. I go hunting and it’s actually harder than it looks to actually hit the heart or any other vital organ of an animal. (Especially, if there as fast as a lion and small too) because an error in placement of your shot means that Lion might die, but now it’s coming after you.
I have watched a lot of lion programs , big fan . Got a little misty eyed on several well documented stories of the Serengeti I have never seen males hunt this much . These brothers are BADASS ! ! !
Is there a greater display of courage and self sacrifice then when a lion or lions decide to stand and fight against a larger number of lions to protect Cubs or territory. I saw this on Mutual of Omaha when a 12 year old male pride leader put his tail up and marched right into 3 young male lions that were there to claim his pride and land, but he had Cubs, and so he made them pay dearly by fighting to give his Cubs time to flee. That is when I knew it was lions that deserved the title King, a true king is always measured by sacrifice.
@@jeremiah1528 no he is not sorry! There is only one king the Lord of all worthy of worship, best of creator the one and only GOD ALLAH.....THE LORD OF ALL PROPHET JESUS,MOSES,MUHAMMAD PEACE BE UPON THEM ALL
Cats are vicious. I've had a few house cats that were a bit aggressive. I couldn't even imagine the true capabilities of a 500lb version with an even more aggressive attitude. Unreal. Steve
@Jacob Sirak lions kill lions and lions kill Cubs. All this crap about mr t killing Cubs and whose Cubs he kills and when is just part of the smear campaign to make Mr t look like a crazed killer cat bent on distruction so they would be able to put him down when needed . He killed Cubs. They all killed Cubs. Every male lion kills Cubs. And africa is a harsh place to live . So meals are not past up . So if you kill a cub you most likely eat the cub . Only reason they wouldnt would if pressure from lionesses or pride or pride males was to intense. If lioness were to be too aggressive then they may to be killed and that makes the cub killing act mute ! Nobody wants to see Cubs killed and eaten ,but nobody had any problem showing mr t doing it ,then acting like it was unheard of ! He must be a crazed psycho ! Total bullshit ! Dont buy into this crap that they were anything more then just great lions . Yes they did what any other lion would do . But they did it better and in spectacular fashion . And they were special . But just lions and not deserving of the smear campaign or to be eliminated from the lion population cuz they cost rich people money !
@Jacob Sirak why do you think lions dont eat Cubs or other lions. These are myths . They ate every bit of kinky tail except his paws and skull ! Cubs are a tasty morsel I'm sure ! Why would a animal like a male lion turn down any food source ! See you guys are stuck on this because you have this visual of him carrying a half eaten cub . And sinse there were always cameras on the Mapogos and the movie was edited and designed to make mr t a villian . Mr t is probably the only lion YOUVE ever seen eat a cub . And the documentary wants you to believe this is rare ,it is not rare ! As a matter of fact I saw the same footage where the narrator said the pride male ate his own dead cub to save it from being eaten from from the lion who killed it !
@Jacob Sirak ok lions kill Cubs and then leave because of the heat between them and the lionesses afterwards . No point in sticking around untill she us ready to breed again . And this is why mr t killed lionesses . He killed Cubs, and the lioness wouldnt mate with him . So if she fights him to hard then it be ones a fight and as a fighter he fight to win and a lioness in no match . I'm sure there is a bit of message to the rest of the lioness of chose a mate or else ! As at least once they all killed a lioness for not choosing. But theres no point to stay and take on a whole pride after you killed a cub so the males take off right away. Mr t didnt leave he sat down and ate ! Think about this for a minute . They are apex preditors killing triggers a feeding response . Take the opossum for example ... he plays dead because of this exact instinct in preditors . If they kill they want to eat .unless something very powerful interrupts them ( like a angry group of lionesses ) so the opossum plays dead and because the preditor doesnt get to get into fight / kill eat mode they literally lose interest in the opossum altogather ! A crazy effective strategy that works against almost e ery preditor he meets ! So mr t stayed and the camera filmed him eating . The only rare thing here is that he was Brave enough to stay and that a camera filmed it . As for KT I'm thru explaining the obvious !
@@leonrhodes8700 They actually usually didn’t eat the Cubs because they weren’t generally killed for food, and they prefer other meals. They usually only eat other Lions when they are really hungry, but these Lions often killed Cubs from their own pride, just to spite some of the others they had problems with.
Actually its been documented Hyenas hunt more than lions, in fact lions steal most kills they make. Is a myth that they are more scavengers than hunters... Also they have quite the complex structure within their clan. The reason they are portrayed as such is because of their form of communication and the way they intimidate other animals. Hyenas are quite smart and social animals.
I have seen many other videos of other prides and they are all fascinating. But the Mapogos are something at a different level. Each one of them were special that’s why as a team of 5 there were they were the kings at the time. I am sure many of you will agree. RIP Kings .
Eh, not really. These lions ruled about 70.000 km2, Alexander's Empire was more than 5.2 Million km2. Even then, Alexander himself would celebrate this pride for their prowess.
@@Joker-jw1iq Well, we also have to considered one lion to be stronger than like 5 men. So yes, while they didn't battle against thousand of enemies. THeir feat will still be impressive compare to what a human can do
@@Joker-jw1iq Alexander and his whole army didnt have to battle "lions" they had to battle humans with weapons. And they themselves am pretty sure were like a hundred thousand also.
The territory these guys claimed were once for 6 other prides. They killed them all one by one. This coalition is the best one ever recorded. They were all 6 beautifull lions. RIP mapogos.
As sad as you could call the ending, you have to keep in mind that as far as lions go you couldn't ask for better. They fought their way to the top, stayed there for a long time, lived full lives, and went down fighting. Even managed to kill one of the new young lions before it came to an end. Plus the bloodline continued. A true warriors death
@@Jgoozie.oozie93 , they ruled for 6 plus years, i'm sure during all that time they inseminated many females and had many male offspring that grew to maturity. The # of prides they ruled over was tremendous.
6 of their offspring males where killed by hunters due to a fence falling down from a flood and crossing into forbidden territory, wisest option was to sedate but some humans luv a trophy/award 😡
That looked like a sub adult hippo. Adult hippos are much bigger, and they rival Rhinos in size(though they are slightly smaller). Still very impressive tho.
This was a Lion coalition made up of 6 Male Lions. They were known as the Mapogos during their reign in 6 years at Sabi Sands they were responsible for 40% Lion death's and also held down 85% of Sabi Sands. They were Makhulu, Dreadlocks, Rasta, Pretty Boy, Kinky Tail and Mr T
@@animelover715 There was but the lions hated the editing done on it so they killed the crew, destroyed the film and wiped out all the distribution for it.
0:50 The lion they were all fighting was called MR T and he was the meanest lion alive and died fighting 7 lions… he died with pride, scariest lion ever
To all the people that said “Camera man: literally points light at the Buffalo*” In reality: it wouldn’t have mattered because the lions would have killed even without the light*

I miss as at Sabi Sands - Kirkman's Camp in 2012. We only saw the tracks of the lions as they were passing through the camp at night. During that period even the packs of wild dogs were not seen for 6 months. Until one morning as the pack were hunting Impala. They devoured the impala right next to our vehicle. R.I.P all of them especially my boy Mr. T. My dude fought 4 lions while being paralyzed from the hind legs down. Fought till his final breath. Also Rest In Peace to his companion from the south, who also fought while paralyzed. The other 4 were picked off sadly by other lions. I’m down to say that this pride was my all time favorite and they will always be remembered. R.I.P The savage 6.
I would love to know what made the mopogos so overtly aggressive, especially by lion standards. It’s not simply the size of the coalition as there are other large groups without these traits. When there is such an aggressive reaction in situations like killing the lioness they are trying to mate with. Or how none of them reacted negatively when a fellow mopogo systematically kills all the cubs that are mopogo offspring.
It's strictly genetics for lions. That's why offspring is soooooooooooo important for lions . The bigger, the badder The lion is the more his sons will be .
But also obviously they had a lil luck . For whatever reason all 6 brothers stayed together. That's super rare as male lions have a very low life expectancy. And even lower staying together in one group . Also they had an older brother Mikula who was quite a lil bit older then the others and offered them experience right from the start . It just shows that when things line up in nature can be horrific . These 6 lions would then dominate like we never see b4.
First of all, genetics played a big part on their behavior. The beginning of the story was all lions in their pride (Sparta) has been defeated, leaving only the 6 young lions. The eldest of the 6, Makhulu (around 1,5 year older), was big, experienced and superior. He didn't leave his 5 other brothers, but accompanied and trained them. Then, all of them grew big and strong because their excellent ability of hunting buffalos, which is very risky and dangerous for lions since they are known for fighting back and even kill lions. Yet these Mapogo brothers always succeeded in doing so. I think this made them have the confidence and aggressive nature other than other lions.
Yea but lions dont normaly juat go around killing shit contrary to alot of leoples beliefs they normally only kill to protect or to hunt....these mfs just went around looking for shit to kill and eleminate all other lions from there shit they barely even kept females around like males normally do they stayed with eachother most of the time even when they split they would still come back together time to time
719 YunGn the Lions we've known to this era are weak af. this is what REAL lion is they defend their pride. The Mapogo lions represent what the lions could be in millions of b.c.
Exactly. That's what I was taught at school. Male lions live a much harder and more extreme life than we first thought. But hey, as Hillary Clinton said, women are the primary casualties of war.
Fahad Thrissur growing up without a pride they had to hunt to eat it was rare for males to be in groups like that. but it made it easier to for them to bully single male lions that they encountered or even Prides protected by 2-3 adult males
@@LydiLa222 As they should! Lionesses are always kept safe in the pride and are never forced to live on their own like the males so it makes sense that they should at least do MOST of the hunting.
@Lambert I would think that they would only have tranquilizer darts, not guns. I could be wrong though, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be self defense if they shot them because they are purposely putting their lives in danger.
Great lineage of the Sabi brothers coalition , they were legendary! Let's hope that some one can fund some Red 8K cameras out there to capture a new coalition that can one up this last great group.
I have two younger brothers. Please don't let this world end because we like these lion brother share all of the same instincts when it comes to survival and protecting our family.💯
