Brother Most of them don’t get through upsc. They are come through small reforms through reservation and after10 year they get certain high ranked. The real hard working is meitei they are the real hard working people without any reservation they get mostly top 10 or at least top 100 in upsc but they is none Kuki that reach top 100 in upsc. So it’s just a quota reservation thing .

Some early years Meiteis are always Target 🎯 Doctor and engineer but now we are turning faces on UPSC . Nowadays every year there is Meiteis aspirants without reservation . As small population we are competing with general population. But most of all I want to see Clay khongshai to become DGP of Manipur..
It's good that your eyes are open now, bro not only the tribe enjoy reservation our meetei brother also share that benefit too , general in meetei is only fraction of the entire population, u also come forward with other reservation, no doubt. Most of the tribe senior officers qualified with general category too..like sir Haulianlal guite IAS (Air 33 )....the facts is ST long ago and ST now are very different, they clear without reservation now but during our forefathers times due to lack of resources, finance,education etc. they were granted this benefit ..... Always remember that there are only a no.of vacancies in UPSC CSE(700 or more approx.)every year out of 1.3 billion population so ST quota do not make much difference and I have also seen many Meiteis enjoying SC and OBC quota

Apart from all these achievers, we do not have new crops of IAS and IPS apart from last year, a girl from ccpur, the exam has become a lot tougher for most STs since Meena were granted ST status, in the year that meenas were given ST status, 3 kukis passed the exam but were later cut off again after the results were declared.

prelims cutoff way lower than UR , OBC and when final merit out, those 600,700 rank are getting higher posts. While preparing , GEN, ST went to same coaching, taught by same teachers, gain access to same materials .

We North Easterners can't think beyond Doctor,Engineers and IAS/IPS/SDO/DC/SP as wonders of wonders. And what this boasting of my tribe his tribe IAS/IPS or MLA or Ministers. Don't ever try to teach the quota system to the Meitei people, you people just got ips in the name of quota and Meitei got ias / ips in the general catagory. If your people put in the general catagory, forget about cracking the exam, you can't even score the prelim cutt off.
Bro you just don't get it,the most high ranking in the UPSC(Northeast) are from the kuki Community.Like we did secure to the rank of 33 and 48.It is not about quoto anymore if you get to that rank.Anyway the first IAS from Manipur was a Kuki not meeitei Or Ibomcha
