Most Unique Street Food of Vietnam  

For anyone who don’t know yet. They are the shell of sea urchin.

It's really wonderful to come across people who freely share valuable information online. You never know what kind of knowledge you might stumble upon that could have a lasting impact on your life.

Here's the sea urchin, we've cleaned the spines out of the shell, and we've removed the guts in the middle, leaving only the "meat" sticking to the shell. If you cut the sea urchin the way in the video, you will see white or yellow patches on the edge of the urchin, which can be eaten raw like sushi, or lightly grilled in the oven as shown in the video. Additional eggs inside, can add some vegetables. Served with some mayonnaise or lemon juice + a pinch of salt is great.

Here in the Philippines its called "salawaki"you can get during low tide,and its fresh to eat with vinegar...its yummy☺️

Here in Aotearoa New Zealand we call them bad boys Kina (Key-nah) and they are a delicacy to my Māori people, find them pretty much on our doorstep lol

*Con nhum biển có nhiều loại ! Nhum sọ, nhum gai dài đỏ, nhum gai dài đen, nhum gai san hô. Con nhum trong video là nhum sọ, giá bán cho thương lái cao nhất trong tất cả các con, vì con nhum này khó bắt, nó nằm sâu dưới đáy biển từ độ sâu trên 10m và độ phân bố xuất hiện của con nhum sọ này không phải chỗ nào cũng có nên dân đi biển thường chủ yếu thích bắt con này vì được giá nhất, nhà hàng đa phần nhập con này về ! Giá dân đi biển bán lại cho thương lái 8-14k / con, mấy bạn kinh doanh nhập về bán 50k / con thêm trái trứng gà với chút nước sốt là lời lắm luôn :))) còn loại nhum rẻ nhất thấy dân biển lười bắt vì giá nó rẻ là nhum gai dài màu đỏ hoặc đen vì độ phân bố xuất hiện của nó khắp nơi, dễ bắt, tốn công sơ chế cắt gai khi ăn, gai nó chích nguy hiểm nữa, gạch ít với không béo bằng mấy con nhum sọ :))) nên dân biển không ham bắt, đi biển tốn xăng, tốn công lặn mà bắt lên cho thương lái lấy có chắc tầm 5k/ con :))) nhà hàng cũng ít, có khi không nhập loại này để kinh doanh cho khách ăn luôn*

We don't have this kind of street food in Indonesia. However, if you somehow go for vacation, island-hopping in many islands in indonesia, you can ask the boat crew to catch sea urchin and crack it open for you, so you can eat thevsea urchin fresh from the ocean.

I've seen it filled with vegetables and rice them covered in a mixture of flour, water, cornstarch, and spicy seasoning, then steamed. So fragrant, spicy, and the bun top, making my mouth water just thinking about it!!

Essentially he sells a fried quail egg with mayonnaise in an empty urchin shell. The urchin itself can't be eaten, because it's already emptied and cleaned before. And it's hella expensive lol.
