Saw Motorhead in a club in New Jersey. It was called Club Benet and it was in Sayreville New Jersey. The ticket was like $17 but for $22 you would get a steak dinner and baked potato for dinner before the show. The venue was like some dinner theater. I have never seen so many bikers before in one place, it was like going to the rally in Sturgis. Place was so loud it was as if the paint was peeling off the walls. Had some really good Jamaican reefer and was drinking Coors Winterfest Brew. I was working for my cousin at the time in New York. I took the work van that we usually use for deliveries and went to the concert. I accidentally backed up into the receptionist car that works at my cousin's office and was not supposed to use the van. Because I had to work in the morning at the restaurant that was right next door to my cousin's office. I was allowed to take the van home on that Friday night. My cousin later found out that I took his van to the concert, without his permission and boy was he pissed off. Oh well, I went to the concert on Friday night, picked up the stuff I needed to open the restaurant on Saturday morning and my ears was still ringing the next day. Great times and memories. Still can't believe that Lemmy,Fast Eddie and Philty Animal have passed on. I'll never forget the time that I had to be a sneaky little shit, to see Motorhead play. It was well worth it but I should have had the steak dinner for another five bucks. 35 years later I'm kicking myself for not trying the steak dinner.Lol.
It was a hit in 1977. I still remember the day when I got the album which was announced by Lemmy in summer 1977 as something "what will kill the grass in your neighbors garden"!
Sunrise, wrong side of another day Sky high and six thousand miles away Don't know how long I've been awake Wound up in an amazing state Can't get enough And you know it's righteous stuff Goes up like prices at Christmas Motorhead, you can call me Motorhead, alright Brain dead, total amnesia Get some mental anasthesia Don't move, I'll shut the door and kill the lights And if I can't be wrong I could be right All good clean fun Have another stick of gum Man, you look better already Motorhead Remember me now Motorhead. alright Fourth day, five day marathon We're moving like a parallelogram Don't move, I'll shut the door and kill the lights I guess I'll see you all on the ice I should be tired And all I am is wired Ain't felt this good for an hour Motorhead Remember me now Motorhead alright
I still remember the day when I got the album (in late 1977) which was announced by Lemmy in summer 1977 as something "what will kill the grass in your neighbors garden"! It surely did.
Saw them in Bremen around this time. Just to say that no one in the audience there were sat at tables tapping their feet or eating bratwusts with a knife and fork! An odd crowd as most sensible German love Motörhead!
Hmmm....they aren't for me . Too "idiosyncratic" and far too bloody expensive. They're a niche instrument for a reason but if they do it for you then there is no substitute 🙂
Gotta love 3 dudes off their face playing guitars that aren’t plugged in, with Lem blasting them with lyrics they probably can’t understand to an audience of shellshocked kids, sitting on their seats. All the band wants to do is get it done and get to the party lol.
@@highdownmartin it's a live recording, but playback, Phil's drum patterns don't fit at all, none of the stringed instruments is plugged in, drums not mic'ed, microphone doesn't make a noise or feed back when knocked over and Phil wrecks his kit, yet magically keeps playing while already walking off
Will be blaring this on vinyl this Friday afternoon, flooded in for sure, but Motorhead needs to be cranked ~ "Only way to feel the noise/ is when it's good and loud!!!"
Dude.i weep for you. I first seen them in a club in Dallas called trees.there are two or three real trees in the middle of the joint.I had just turned on to the band and didn’t know what to expect . They opened with bomber and the crowd went to a mosh pit! It was like a party.
I never really got Rock Music until one night in the Denholme and District Motorcycle Club way back in time when the resident DJ for want of a better word played this!! Job done - Motorhead Fan for Life.
Seems to be from TV program Musikladen, 10. September 1981 (live at "Theater des Westens", Berlin). Yep, the audience. lol. But don't forget how new that was back then. From german wiki: "It was the first music show on German television in which an extreme metal band for the time, such as Motörhead, could appear in the fall of 1980 with the song Ace of Spades." And they even performed three times at "Musikladen" in 1981: 15. Januar 1981: Ace of Spades (again?) 30. April 1981: Motörhead & Girlschool -- Please Don’t Touch 10. September 1981: Motorhead
R.i.p Lemmy, Philty, Fast Eddy😞.... On leur doit TOUT! Respect éternel ! ... Tout le reste, c'est de la philosophie, c'est tout !!!
When someone asks you where did thrash metal or speed metal start this it it folks . ( couple years earlier of course when this song came out and the breakthrough Overkill album to be exact)
Shit i graduated from H.S. in 1981 didn't find out about Motorhead until 83-84?I surely would of loved it because the music was going to shit with everyone creaming in there pants over New Wave, and shit like Springsteen 🤢 Wasn't like today with You Tube and other outlets
Should have checked out the underground hardcore scene for your fix of fast and nasty . I was usually the only long hair at the local punk shows because most so called metal of the era was that transvestite crap .
неужто такой безбашенный рок-н-ролл не вернётся никогда ?!? почему сейчас рок играют прилизанные полупокеры ?? где драйв и задор брутальных хулиганов ?!

Voted the worst band in 1975- The year they formed. LEMMY WAS SERIOUSLY BUMMED! Wanted to say Fuck it! Thankfully he didn't. Motorhead is the greatest band ever in my opinion. LEMMY IS THE FUCKING KING OF ROCK AND ROLL!
Lemmy, flippin the Bird to a whole gang of clueless Teutons expected dinner theatre or something. Classic. Also, this is the tuffest version of "Motörhead" ever-- raw as fuck... 🦃⚡🎸😵🦃⚡🎸😵🦃⚡🎸😵🦃⚡🎸😵🦃
