DO NOT TRY THIS - it is very dangerous because you must use mains power!!!
ONLY for adults that have experience with HIGH VOLTAGE!!!
Sorry for the video that is in a "portrait" mode! What was I thinking!
At first my Spot-Welder didn't work, but after several adjustments, it works like it should! Please ask questions and I'll try to help.

0:19 wrong The shunts (by norm insulated laminated tabs) are not there to limit current across the output but rather to make the whole transformer operate more efficiently when under load by reducing (if not completly) eddy current losses. So ideally if possible you wuld leave them in there, aslo fow spot welders of this sort (I'm currently working on one) One would need to have a minium of 3 to 5 turns for maximum performance and the wire gauge used should between 25 to 35mm2 . Good luck I hope you succeed and find my comment useful for the future.

Thank you for that information! Based on research I did, they took the shunts out, so I used their visdome. I have it working, but I agree it needs one or 1.5 more turns. The cable is so thick, that I wounded in there as much as I could. No room even for a half a turn.

What is wire gauge (AWG) of black windings on transformer ? What is gauge of white wire? Thx, good video.

The black primery wire is 0.311" (including very thin insulation) of multistranded wire and the white wire is a very thick "car jumper wire". The key is to keep the wire as short as you can, because with the length of the wire, the power diminishes radically! Hope this answered your question.
