I always base my motel choices based on their bathroom and kitchen. A floor to ceiling tiled bathroom in white with black floor tiles and matte black fittings, glass shower partition will be an easy choice for me 🥰 enjoy your Reno!
I was able to stay at your motel back in 2020 and met your mum. She was so lovely, I’m so invested in this Reno and can’t wait to see how it turns out!!
I have been watching you since I think around 2012 or 2013 I’m so excited about this! you guys are the cutest family. Love seeing any content from you 🎉 Sending love and healing to your mum! 🧚🏼♀️✨♥️
what a lovely space! Personally i'd seperate the two seating area's as they seem too close together. I'd move one so it's a nice seating/reading area where the dining table currently is at the front door so its more cozy as you walk in and I'd move the dining table to where the L shaped sofa is currently. Can't wait to see the progress 💜
How exciting!! Have you considered reaching out to Mr. Kate, or watching some of their videos? They have a lot of creative affordable solutions 💕! You guys are the CUTEST, and I wish you all the very best in this exciting new venture!
Invest in a well designed kitchen and bathroom because those will be used every day. Make sure to install high quality appliances. Washable wall paint and washable couch coverings. Other than that, I think you have the basics covered, the rest is just personalization (window treatments, rugs, coffee tables). Put up some flower pots on the balcony, maybe curtains/parasol if it gets too sunny.
Can’t wait to see how it turns out!!!! How exciting! Yes I totally agree with the coastal, classic, timeless, updated traditional but still cozy. What about a collab with Mr. Kate?!?! - like on a room! 😍😍😍😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩
I see so much potential in this space! I love that wicker shelf/rack! Please please please don’t paint it a different color, maybe just sand it down and stain it so it’s nice and fresh, yet still natural!
A beach theme would be super cute. White and light blues with pale wood and maybe a navy blue/marled sofa so not too light. Shells from the beach and little succulents, pictures of the beach on the walls.... It's a bit obvious but would be cute 💙🐋🐚
I think that bamboo shelf would look better without any paint and especially if the whole room is renovated to be more modern it will fit much better. It looks like something you'd buy from Anthropologie for a fortune!
Idk if its too late but please consider adding in some at least minor accessibility stuff ❤ doesnt have to be huge wheelchair accessibility but evdn just things like no or a very low shower hob and a hand rail in shower and bathroom and have the shower head a shower heaf that is also a hose attachment (the fancy metal kind) Rememsber accessibly benefits all 😁 xx
Bathroom 2 (?) Definitely has potential for a couple of rails in (one at each wall) and aforementioned shower head/hose in one IF you wanted ofcourse ❤ (the one at 3:20)
As a landlord, I strongly recommend ZERO carpet in a rental property. Solid surface is more durable, doesn’t hide dirt / spills and is easier to clean. Suggesting the use of dark carpet would indicate that it was selected to camouflage dirt and stains and no tenant wants carpet in a short term rental.
Fwiw, I was advised not to remove the bathtub during our renovation. People who are into taking baths are really into taking baths and it could be a deal breaker. Also, might be important to families with young kids who need to bathe them but don't want to have to get in the shower with them.
So exciting! If y’all need help I now someone who’s an expert and even shares some reno tips online! It’s Julie Wyatt from Chics That Renovate (she’s a fellow Aussie) xx
