I'm Sure they would, also I remember a Similar Incident happened just like this, I was at a local Kentucky Fried Chicken/Taco Bell Restaurant with a friend of mine named Sarah, We was sitting at a table, and was eating our lunch, I was having the chicken leg and thigh combo, Sarah was having a Burrito meal, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a Mom with 6 children, I noticed that The mom and five of the children were having lunch, except for one, He was sad, they were sitting just a few feet away from us, He was watching his mom, his older brothers and sisters eating lunch, Sarah told me not to get involved, but I ignored her, I got up from the table, walked over to the front, and I ordered some food for the boy, about an hour later I carried the food over to the boy, He looked up at me with a big smile on his face, I asked him if he was hungry and he nodded his head, I gave him the food, The Mom looked at me with a shocked look on her face, I got on to the mom like a rattlesnake ready to strike, I told her how dare she forgot her own son, I was saying some crude words at her, She apologized to her son, I went back to my table, I told Sarah that It was right of me to get involved and help someone in need, Until Sarah understood, She got up from the table, walked over to the mom, and gave the mom some money for the food that I gave the little boy.
The son in the last scene was taking in every word his father was saying, and I can see how proud he is of his father. I hope he grows up just as kind and helping.

Except that's going back on the promise. She promised him that he could pick out *anything.* Modifying the promise would just teach the kid that it's okay to do something like that.

It's a shitty thing to do as a parent to go back on your deal especially when your kid held up his end. You're just asking for your kid's trust in you to be broken. And Lego has always been that expensive. What you should be saying is not to make deals you don't think you can fulfill. But once you've made it, your word is your bond.
That acting was just terrible, and I can understand why the first two customers weren't buying it. In comparison the one where the mom couldn't afford her son's birthday meal had some stellar acting for WWYD standards.
That’s what I thought. If the card got declined it would have been one thing but pulling out money and saying that’s all I have. That shows she knew she didn’t have enough.
They said it was a scam. So how can it be a scam if they're buying a toy from the toy store with the money they could've gave them lol...? They're just miserable people. It's not like they're taking the money into their pockets
Not necessarily, Legos are considered a toy and a collectors item, and if kids and adults are buying at that price, then it's working. Legos are pretty expensive

I feel like a lot of people are saying this but it's not really entirely fair. There was no real natural, organic way as actors for them to portray what they needed to portray to pull off this stunt. Normal people don't just stand in a store having a really audible, out loud conversation about their money woes. They're being asked to do that in a way that doesn't seem conspicuous, but at the same time DOES seem conspicuous because they are supposed to make sure people notice. It's a weird thing to be asked to do and in this case I don't feel like there was a win situation because it would have seemed suspicious to most. I don't know about you but in leaner times in my life when I didn't have enough money at the register, I tried to wrap that situation up discreetly and get out of there ASAP to avoid embarrassment.
The guy in the end has me crying my eyes out. I've been raising my daughter for 19 years now. Her mother divorced me and ran away with another man when my baby was 2. Left me with a house all by myself. The courts gave me a hard time so I kept fighting for joint custody. My daughter's 19 now, in college and we have an amazing relationship.
That guy is amazing. I hope he will live another 100 year. It can seem a little thing but it can change the little girls life forever. Beign good people
It's funny how they were struggling to get the last guy's attention (he's got 3 kids and helping them look around so I'm not that surprised) and then as soon as he finally hears their situation, he doesn't even hesitate to just whip out his credit card. I love how we can see his little daughter watching the whole thing. I hope that sticks with her later on, seeing her daddy being so generous to a stranger.

That last guy just taught me something good. He will encompass all to help those who are scammers to include the one who actually needs help. It shifted my paradigm of not helping sometimes to make sure I don't get scammed. I want to do better.

One time I wanted a stuffed animal with those glittery eyes and it was a little kitten. I asked my dad for it and he said "No, we dont have enough money" and a lady over heard what he was saying and the nice lady payed for it for me! I still have the stuffed animal and Im so greatful and thankful for it. Im so glad that theres good people in this world!!!❤

My mom and I went to a toy store and there was a mom who promised her son a toy, he picked out a model race car. I was skeptical to pay for it at first because I was nervous and had been saving my money for this collectible funko pop, when I finally got courage to go up, the kid lit up. After I paid for the toy, he said, “God bless you, I will never forget you.” Two years later a boy I recognized somehow came to my school. I immediately recognized him and he recognized me. He told me after my donation his mom started working hard to help others. His mom now is very successful
My friend once used those sticks cause her leg broke, she got her armpit bruised because of it, so maybe that's why she used pillows under her armpits, to prevent some bruises
I had surgery on one leg and then on the other. I was on crutches for almost a whole year, I had some kind of pads that had foam inside for my crutches. Man it made a difference.....
A parent on a budget: 1) never says "you can buy anything in the store that you want" 2) always checks the price of an item to see if you have the money/ check for a sale 3) tends to not make concrete promises with things relating to money. You might say "will get a reward or toy" but leave the $ amount open so you will be able to keep within your budget at the time. Yeah, I wouldn't believe someone not checking the price first. In the future when the total is given, the mom should say "but I thought it was on sale" and have the cashier say "I'm sorry, the sale ended yesterday, it's now regular price" and the mom respond with "Oh no, I don't have enough money for it now".
Yep, extra reasons why this scenario "seemed scam-ish," other than there being "just, like, too much enthusiasm." It's why I have a general disdain for this show (that I'm stupidly addicted to)--a lot of the set-ups are unrealistic. Not to mention the inherent biases of the show. But, yeah...guilty pleasure 'n' all that.
I do agree, no parent on a budget would say "anything in the store." The promise usually goes "Mommy has $40 in her purse, you can buy anything you like less than $40."
My friend always said… when you give, you give from the heart. Not from a place expecting recognition or blessings back. The ones who thought it was a “scam” only do good when they know others are watching.

Moghster that’s what happens when you were raised right, have a good job/ career, and just happy in life. He seemed like a good dad who’s teaching his kids good values, they saw what he did and can guarantee they’ll remember the kind of man he is
the last guy is just amazing. he looks carelss and just chilling, not paying attention around for which you can easily judge. But he did not know and hears suddenly about the story and puts his wealth on play. Good hearted people are like that.
When you dont get to buy your kids things often, you live in low income, and probably don't have the best schools and your kid looks past all that and works hard to behave AND get good grades, that 54 dollar toy that was promised would mean the world to him. He probably wouldn't have much already if this scenario was real. We all know the better toys cost more, and we should emphasize with our children a bit more and realize they may want something nice here and there if they've worked hard for it. Every one has their own opinion but I don't think its necessarily wrong of her to try to get him something nice even though they are struggling a bit, especially if he is an only child.
This sweet girl knows her grandmother always makes things happen for her, she saw a poor boy in trouble and knew her grandmother could help, like she has helped her probably in the past. A very sweet young lady.
Lol. I'm from Asia and anything lower than an A is 'me not studying enough'. Being crammed in a hot classroom for 6 hours a day ain't fun. Waking up at 5:45 am everyday to get ready for school also ain't fun. Dealing with teachers that whack you with a stick if you wear the wrong uniform, that is not in any way fun.

This is one of the most heartbreaking scenarios on this show, because there's no "bad guy." The mom was wanting to give her son a reward for doing well in school, but sometimes you just don't have the money for things. The cashier is just doing her job, so you can't fault her either. And you can understand the boy getting sad because he worked so hard and deserves the toy. Just a really unfortunate situation.
The last dude didn’t even hear the sad part or anything about him getting straight A’s and being promised lol, he hears “I’m a little short” and just walks straight over and throws his card down lol love it

Believe me if you want or not, I was the oldest child, the stuff they didn’t show there was a point we were looking at the Lego wall and the kid came to talk to us and what not when we first walked in, so he did know it was a reward for grades but if he remembered idk haha he forgot to put the oil cap on his car a month later so lmao
This happened to me! I was at a gas station and saw a beanie boo I REALLY wanted, but my mom said no, we don't have enough money. Then the lady at the cash register said, "go on, go get that toy!" And she payed for every cent. That just shows you how kind people really are. You should be grateful for what you have.

That last dad reminded me of my husband. ❤️ He he had a lady approaching asking for money to buy her kids medication because her husband was in the military and deployed. She told him she didn’t have money. He immediately gave it to her. When I brought to his attention later that I am a navy brat and the medical expenses are always paid for children in military, he said, “ that’s OK, I know I did the right thing and if she wasn’t telling the truth, that’s on her and God.” We did find out that there was a woman going around town scamming people for that, but it didn’t change his mind and it definitely made me love my husband even more.
