I think I know the moment you were referring to, when Mimi was panting, and left the box. And I think you may have misinterpreted what was going on. She appeared to be more concerned with what was happening outside the box. It was something she clearly disapproved of, that involved her offspring, and as the matriarch, she seemed to think it was her role to intervene.

If only! He shouldn't be in the birthing box, he is too old and big and neither of these cats are his mother! He has tried to suckle once with Lili despite his age which is not healthy behaviour, he 'play's with Lili's kittens but is too rough and is groomed by both mothers due to their maternal dispositions but they should be lavishing this love 💘and care on their own kittens! Nico has already been raised by Kiki! He distracts and shouldn't be there. But I have seen him in there since jumping around so don't fear Nico is still permitted to cause havoc in what should be a very relaxed soothing area for ONE mother and her babies. The Owner despite his evident love for these Angels always puts views first and allows many things to happen which are distressing. I have no doubt he has great affection for them, but this is ultimately a business for him and anything that gets views (whether it is unhealthy for Mother's and kittens or not 😥) is allowed. I have long given up trying to make others understand. They just see cute kittens🐈. So things will continue as they are. I do hope Mimi has a pleasurable mothering experience as she is the most comforting loving mom cat in the world when she is relaxed. Old content of her love and devotion to Kiki is incredible, as echoed in the comments at the time. I have never seen such a loving and empathetic mother as Mimi. 🤗❤ Sorry for long reply! I just adore Mimi and worry about her.
