I have always thought she was a sweet loving soul and she always spoke so highly of Elvis. I believe they had a beautiful friendship. They both loved our Lord dearly ❤ Grace from Canada

It's hard to believe she wasn't aware of Elvis at all. Never heard Elvis even in radio? Unless she was living in a convent before she came to Hollywood. I listened and still love Elvis songs when I was in 6th grade even though I was living in the Philippines, a third world country where he was very popular and she didn't???

Rock and Roll was relatively new at that time. The first real white artist to make a hit with this sort of Music was Bill Hailey and the Comets for their soundtrack in Blackboard Jungle released in 1954. Rock Around the Clock. With that Black Music closed over into pop music, with Elvis being a white with a “black” voice. Her uncle by Marriage was Mario Lanza, the opera singer.
