I love your work you explain so well. If you pick up the 2 x 11's and let them drop down to the stiff stuff , then all you have to do is place your needle in front of the 11's and then no guessing xx

I'm about to finish this using a Czech round cab red and gold dragonfly 22mm. OMG! So much fun! I feel like Rumpelstiltskin spinning gold. 🤗 I have been collecting supplies to follow your videos for months now. This is my first project like this. Thank you so much 💚💙💛

A small FYI for you, if you try double faced tape rather than E6000 you will have just as nice a finished piece without smell, too much getting close to the edge and no waiting to work! Cut it so that it comes right up to the edge without going past so your needle does not get into the "gummy bits". Also for those of you who sew, heavy interfacing works every bit as well as Lacy's Stiff stuff and allows for larger pieces to be made in one piece. Great tutes and this may sound weird, but I enjoy listening to you teach as you have a very pleasant voice. Keep up the great job!

It IS a great tip! I've been doing it this way for 15 years! After buying Jamie Cloud-Eakin's book on embroidered Cabochons I discovered that glue almost always spreads out beyond the rim of the Cab, making it impossible to get the needle through after it's dried. So I tried some good old-fashioned double-sided tape, and - Voilà! I've never had that problem again, and there's no more waiting to dry, either. I prefer beaded Cabs, but embroidered styles do allow for a much wider range of edges and tassels - I've done some beautiful pieces with this method that I've been very proud of, and I highly recommend that people try it because it's not nearly as difficult as it may seem, and the finishing choices are literally endless.

I wanted to update you on my work: I made 5 rows around the cabochon and I was really happy because it had come very well! then, when I pasted the suede fabric with white glue, I could not complete the last row because it was too hardened and the needle was not able to get in! It was a big trouble because I had to remove everything, but it is not important, I now begin again! I wanted to thank you again for the tutorial, you made me learn a very valuable technique that I really like. I did not have much experience with the beads, so far I had only used them to embroider the wedding dresses for tailoring, but this process gives me a lot more satisfaction!

Thanks for the update! Bead embroidery is a lot of starting over lol - I think it is part of the creative process. We want to see how something works so we give it a try. If it doesn't work as we would like - we try again LOL That is exactly how I work :) I'm so happy you are enjoying your journey into bead weaving MegaAnezia!

WOW! Finally! ..... About a year ago while visiting Niagara I found these amazingly pretty uneven Stones (not cabochons). We filled a little Gem bag to overflowing capacity. I thought I could just drill a hole and voila! A necklace! HUH! not so much! This is a huge relief to see! Your creativity has no bounds my beading sister (don't sell yourself short!) Life saving videos just fly out of your mind! Thank you! thank you! thank you!! Trying bead embroidery is not only interesting but also necessary (my hubby will be surprised, No useless little stones, he was the one who tried to drill them) lol! It may take a few rough starts as the rocks are uneven and probably not sloped like they should be, but it sure is worth a try! I will certainly let you know how it works out when I am able to drag myself away from other projects I have on the go. Thank you again for sharing! Gorgeous necklace! You rock!!

This video has, however, given me the courage to start an earring project. I have the design completed so, I just need to start the beading. I love everything you teach us and I am so grateful that you so sweetly take the time to show us each step of the way.

Thank you so much for your tutorial, you are a great teacher! I have made a few embroidered pieces, and noticed that if you spread out the E6000 too far out beyond the cab, it gets a bit tricky to pass the needle through easily, you might want to mention that to warn newbies! I love your color combos too, so classy, and almost like "real" jewelry, keep on teaching and inspiring!

Just completed this GORGEOUS pendant, Stephanie, and am about to tackle the bail. I completely agree that it would make a stunning centerpiece for a bracelet. I don't have the creative chops that you do, so I won't even attempt to design anything. If you get a chance, can you post a video using this element in a bracelet? I can visualize a beautiful band with matching bicones hugging the element!

G'Day My Wonderful Friend, How did you know that your wonder Down Under needed an enlightening video to sooth away the tension that this dreaded sewing project is causing me? A very large Pavloa moment I feel coming up. And what a fantastic one it is..... your worth your weight in baubles and gold. I think that this is one of your most beautiful pieces that you have done. The title, the stones and the colours are just out of this world....stunning and chic. I order two cabochons on the 20th of Jan and they were sent the next day (one is very similar to yours and the other is Dragon Veins in greens and blues) and I am still waiting for them to arrive. They are now almost 4 weeks late past the end of the postage time.....not very happy!!!!!! They are being sent from China and I think that they are on the "slowest Sampan" that needs refueling every 10 k's !!! It was the only place I could buy them from. After seeing this little teaser (the video) I am even more excited for them to arrive. I am so in love with Bead Embroidery and I have already several designs tucked away in my little grey cells... my muse and I are sooooo excited !!!!!. I think that you did a masterful way of teaching and my little polar bear don't sell yourself short.... you are "good". I didn't think that you would be doing any videos over Easter ...... this is better than a basket full of Easters Eggs. I'm not really into chocolate so that's why I think that it is better. I know that Easter is nearly over but I would like to wish you and your family a very Happy, Safe and Magical Easter. Sam (hubby) had to work Good Friday and Monday so it has been very quiet ... well except for the occasional out burst from the lady at the sewing machine!!!!!! I think that my family (including the girls) were ready packing to go to my sons house until the nightmare is finished..... tomorrow I hope. I think that while in bed to night I will calmly walk through one of my centering odes.....I think that I need a good cleansing of the body, soul and mind. So before this turns into another of those "War and Peace Novels" and as evening is now approaching I will wish you a good night from your wonder Down Under my Little Polar Bear and send you many many Easter Blessings.......XXXXXOOOOOOX

+Chris Phillips Thank you, thank you, thank you my dear Chris for the kind words (well novella lol)!!! I was very nervous about your reaction to this video as you are a master at embroidery! Not the same for sure, not even close, but I wanted my Wonder from Down Under to like this piece! And you did... YAY!!! I mean it Chris, your opinion is important to me! So thank you once more! I have fallen in love with Bead Embroidery as well! I love the whole process as it can be so creative!!! I am looking forward to seeing your masterpiece! You certainly have peaked my curiosity! I am also in need of a mind/body cleanse. I think it must be the time of year for me as the seasons are changing and so must I. I have gotten myself so wrapped up in working (beading, making patterns, filming things, trying to get organized, etc) that I forgot to practice a little self- care! So off to yoga for me at least 4 times a week and fresh fruits and veggies! I thought of a juice cleanse but I don't think I could drink only juice for a week (especially that greenish nasty kale juice mixture that my friends love)YUK!!! LOL maybe a Pavlova cleanse??? Your cabs sound beautiful and one day they will show up at your door - most likely when you have forgotten all about them! I love the name "Dragon Veins" I have a bead called Dragons Blood which is greenish with a little purple/red in it. So many beads, so many ideas, only two hands!!! Happy Belated easter to you and your lovely family. Stay safe and warm...XOXOXO

+Bronzepony Beaded Jewelry Sorry that it has taken me a while to answer but I have had a very busy day, most of it spent trying to get the "nightmare" finished. I seem to take two steps forward and then end up taking eight steps back. My type of Embroidery is different than doing bead Embroidery. I was in awe just watching you do it. It was beautifully explain and worked or as we say in Embroidery ...it was wrought perfectly. You have made my day my little polar bear as I find your opinion and friendship just as important to me too. I love all of your videos but this one is my favourite. I am looking forward to seeing more videos dealing with Bead Embroidery. I would like to see you make a bracelet using one of your cabochons.... the full deal ...covered with swirling colours of beads, pearls and seed beads on a piece of Ultra Suede with a lovely beaded clasp.... now that would be a little bit of fabulous my Master of Beading!!! It sounds like my little bear needs a spiritual cleanse so one will be coming and I will post it within the next few days. As it's nearly the bewitching hour here and believe me I need "all the hours of deep sleep to recharge the little grey cells and beauty sleep as possible.... so for now my wonderful polar bear G'Night from your wonder Down Under..........XXOO
@chrisphillips1893
@chrisphillips1893 8 лет назад
+Chris Phillips It's me again and I had a wonderful no make a fantastic idea (more like a thunder bolt to the little grey cells). See what you think. Why don't you and I each make a bracelet or necklace using a cabochon with all the other baubles that go with it. We design it and make it and then when both have finished it and through the magic of the air waves show each other what we have done. I am betting that they will be both out of this world but my most honoured Master of the Beads yours will be just a little a head of mine in all aspects. I have just "5" more minutes before I finish this nightmare and then back to "BEADING" !!!!!!!!!!!!!! So off I go to do just that.....Let me know what you think or if you have a better idea in mind.........Hear from you soon my Little Polar Bear...XXXXOOOOOO

Bronzepony Beaded Jewelry finally I'm doing it! I have a question, because my cabochon is quite high, about 8 mm., depending on your experience do you think that one more turn of 11/0 beads may be enough?
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry 7 лет назад
MegaAnezia With a cabochon that high you might consider bezeling your cab with a peyote bezel so it stays on. Are you familiar with. Peyote bezel?
@MegaAnezia
@MegaAnezia 7 лет назад
Bronzepony Beaded Jewelry :( unfortunately I do not even know the name of this technique! I know a processing peyote that creates a sort of "ring" around the cabochon, but my cabochon is made in polymer clay and the rear is not very presentable. now I started the job, I'll do a few more laps, before concluding I'll try if the cabochon does not move, otherwise I will try other solutions. thank you, you're always very helpful!

A necklace for a Quin, serious stuff.... You have such a great imagination, dear, maybe you'll have some idea? :))) Thank you for all your work anyway, it is really admirable:)))

dont worry Stephanie, I manage wirh my english; in long tutorials you have great humor, and when you laugh in the middle of a tutorial......... lol ............ you`ve got a great sence of humor.......... lol. I have seen the hole video just for fun, but is is a new type of "incastonatura" I have to try, I prefer , in a traditional way of taking, the peyote, but lately I`ve been learning diferent ways thanks to nive and experimened italian girls. have nice beading and regards from northen spain

What kind of beads did you use for the necklace to go with the pendant? I love the look of the smoky looking beads. They remind me of Labradorite a bit. Beautiful work as usual!

I was thinking my cab might have a higher dome than what you are using in the video. So I was thinking if I added more rows it would come up higher over the dome of the cab to secure it.

I may try to learn peyote using the Lacey Stuff . Just start the first few rows on Lacey and then continue on without Lacey. I will lose the rows I did on the Lacey when I pull the threads out, but as I see it I will have a good foundation. 🌸🌺🥀🌺🌸 😉

I am working on this necklace now. but, I don't want my bicones curved under like this one on the necklace already. I like your 2nd example, how did you work those bicones
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry 8 лет назад
Hi cathi🌻 If you want your cab to lay flat don't put the 15/0 seed beads in between the bicone edging. You can use an 11/0 and it won't curve. Hope that helps. At the end of the tutorial I demonstrate that briefly so if you need to see it check out the last few minutes of the video🌷🌷🌷

I am working on one of these right now and I am wondering why you use a fresh piece of thread for every round of seed beads? I hate threading my needle so I tend to use longer pieces of thread to avoid having to start a new piece and having to thread the needle. That said, your pieces are always so beautiful, I can't help but think you have a good reason for using multiple pieces of thread instead of one long one?
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry 4 года назад
On the bezel I like to use a fresh piece each round for positioning the beads. I often change thread throughout a larger piece as it could get frayed or weaken with all that sewing through the backing. Also, if a portion needs to be repaired, I can easily repair or replace it without the entire piece unraveling. That being said, I’ve never had that happen but you never know 🌻😊😊 I think you’re fine with your longer threads.

I have a pattern that I made for the wisdom symbol. It is a rather large pattern, on paper, but I didn't put any cabs in it. I can't find a video without cabs. Do you have any?
