classic tv at its all time best!!..gre up on this show i was so yng when i 1st started watching for sometime i totally misinterpreted george & louise's relationship...(i thought they were brother n sister..dont laugh at me)....but 2 this day...i can still watch an episode n chuckle n watch some n laugh hysterically...season 1 ep13( Jenny's law)...mother jefferson is doing a cross world puzzle...she needs a 5 letter word for headache.....lionel suggests worry...few mins later after lionel n jenny leave the apartment mother jefferson says to louise...louise..lionel was wrong...louise turns, acknowledges mother jefferson n asks what?....mother jefferson repeats...i need a 5 letter word for headache?....louise says...how about in-law...mother jefferson gets excited her face brightens n she says..yea,,,2 seconds later she look up n over at louise n says...in-law?...gets up in a huff gets her coat n storms out...the look on her face when she re-process what louise said n catches the shade...hysterical..
Norman lear had a great gift for casting...he saw sherman in a play in nyc and instantly knew he was his george jefferson...he approached sherman but sherman was hesitant to leave the play he was in because it was a steady n good paycheck...Norman waited 4yrs for him to finish the play before he was introduced on all and the family and the rest is history.....the original tom & hellen were recast(the characters were 1st introduced on all in the family..Lionel's engagement)....mother Jefferson was dead on the moment we laid eyes on her...sherman and isabell had isabel had such great chemistry we looked right past the 20 yr age difference..
