Mother of Burger King employee killed makes sorrowful plea 

My heart really goes out to her. I also have a 19 year old daughter working for BK. I live in a relatively safe city, but evil is everywhere. I really can’t comprehend losing a child.

The mother can't hold Burger King to blame, but she can certainly blame the judge/DA who released this suspect who is a non citizen from Jamaica and has a violent criminal history...why wasn't he deported?

I've lived in NYC since the 80's, I remember when every chinese takeout, bodega and taxi cab had bulletproof partitions. Sad to think we might be going back to those days. Even affluent neighborhoods in the middle of the day with witnesses doesn't prevent random violent crime anymore.

Such a sick, disgusting individual to take this girls life after handing over the money. It’s breaks my heart, she’s so young and beautiful. Hope he gets life.

Born and raised in NYC I fully support stop and frisk but there has to be a reform put in place. Giving long sentences to non violent offenders over drugs is insane. Get the animals doing all the senseless shootings and stabbings out of our cities. All these political puppets got LA Chicago and NYC looking like war zones.

This is soo heart breaking. Imagine sending your beautiful teenage daughter wanting to help you out as her mother just to be killed at the very place she worked so she can help her family. This is disgusting and I have no words for the man who had the audacity to yell back at the crowd. The devil is really in some people

All businesses attempting to stay open 24 hours, should have a walk up window...NOT allowing customers being able to walk in...this is for the safety of the workers... This is the fault of Burger King's owners... Pay the debt to the Mother and make changes for the safety to your workers...

I can’t imagine the pain of the mom…this is sooo wrong. Is unbelievable how the broken law protects these criminal monsters. There should be more severe punishment to these parasites. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Every parent should be angry at what just happened here. The fact that this killer is yelling for reparations rather than being remorseful shows what kind of animal he really is. If he is found guilty of these charges, he is an absolute danger to society and should never walk a free man.

I think Burger King in a way should have provided more safety for the employees in this establishment. Not having the establishment open for people to step in after certain hours. Just having a window open that is bulletproof. The company should have known this area in particular was a hot spot.The Mcdonalds around my neighborhood is open 24 hours a day but after certain hours they only do window service.

When I worked at the Mcdonald's on 125th street many many moons ago we had a security guard there everyday. Now a young lady is dead and they will probably take all the necessary safety precautions which is when something happens and it's when people make changes SMH

This worries me so much. I have a teen who works at a fast food joint. Our city is actually top-rated and safe. However, we neighbor a metropolitan city and sometimes the menaces there spill into our neck of the woods.

I don't know a girl or family. But this is so sad 😔.

In all these cases it is the same ... The only ones who are to blame never really pay for the crime they have commited. There is no reason to sue anyone here besides the murderer.

This is a Horrendous tragedy, but there’s no way Burger King is responsible for what happened. No business had to hire security or police to deter crime at their business. This is truly tragic and my heart breaks for the family of this beautiful young lady. I agree someone should be held accountable, however I keep seeing cases where attorneys for victims are going after the business and property owners where the crime took place. I don't know too much about the legal system, but what can you gain from going after the business? They did not "invite" a violent criminal onto their premises to commit a murderous crime. Why don't the families of these victims and their attorneys go after the ones really responsible for having these REPEAT OFFENDERS on the street amongst us? The perpetrator of the violent act AND the lawyers and judges who keep putting them back on the streets even after numerous offences? THOSE are the responsible ones.. Going after Burger King may net the victims some financial gain, but how does that effect any real change in what is going on? BK is a business open to the public, anyone can walk in at ANY TIME OF DAY and commit a heinous act towards the employees or customers. What can they do differently? Even hiring a security guard does not help because they too are limited in ways they can respond. On the other hand, there is A LOT that those in charge of handling REPEAT OFFENDERS can do and should do to keep them off our streets and not just going in and out of the the "INJUSTICE" system.... Again, I am very heartbroken for this family. Times are tough and we all need to make a living. We all deserve to be able to return home, safe and unharmed, to our families as well. I hope she wins all of the lawsuits especially against Burger King this is why when my husband retired me from Waffle House I made sure that my younger brothers and sisters never worked for that company they don't value their employees life especially when you have an all-female staff on 3rd Shift with no security!

RIP to this beautiful angel. Was there at the wrong time. I think the suspect really wanted to do something to the manager it was just her and the manager that was working there. Since he was former worker and probably got fired. Instead he got his teeth knocked out and then beat up a customer with the gun... :( she got the worst of it.....very unfortunate...

She was scared to work at night and that should have been the cue to quit. People sense your fears and that lures them, and how you react can trigger them. This girl is too hot to be working at Burger King. Simply put, she felt it too. If you hold back, you may not live to regret it. She should have taken the chance and moved on to a better job. It is better to get rejected after taking a chance than to sit and wait and become a victim.
