Yes it's dreadful that many of us are unable to trust our own 2tier police forces to protect us and have to endure these traumatic events.

pretty much everyone legally involved in the case: "the killer is a severe schizophrenic who did not get adequate help for his illness and would not have killed if not for his illness" the media: "the killer is CLAIMED to be a severe SCHIZOPHRENIC who DIDNT GET HELP, FAMILIES say JUSTICE HAS NOT BEEN SERVED" (after he was sent to a mental hospital that would be the best place to treat his illness, and it was specifically said that he would likely never be released) yes, really treating the killer as a victim for....uhhhh... reporting on what the people involved with the case have consistently said about it?

The killer and his family were Portuguese citizens who came here legally under freedom of movement in 2007. They had lived here with no problems for 16 years before he went crazy and stabbed people. He had been getting treatment for mental health problems but they clearly didn't monitor him well enough. He should have been sectioned before it got to this point. The failure was in mental health services, not immigration.
